  2. Gents, you are too kind Weathered it is! I will try my hand at weathering the rest of the bits, the counter, cylinders and T-Track. I'll also take some more shots outside in natural light for ya........
  3. Hi Guys, I just thought I would post a few pictures of my Sterling E11 conversion. All parts are original. Sterling L2A3 SMG M38 scope Metal cased Henglester Cut down 10 Round Mag Russrep Cylinders Homemade Steel scope rail Saberfreaks T-Track What do you think? 6. Hi Guys, as the title suggests I would like some help on what thickness sheet aluminium I should use to build a E11........... 1mm, 1.2mm,1.5mm or 2mm? there are so many thicknesses I am getting confused what will be the best for cutting and bending Any suggestions are welcome....
  7. I just emailed them and got a reply within 10 mins! Shipping to the Uk is $38
  8. Hey Smitty, how's it goin' yeah thought I would share some pics of my face plate and all hell broke loose. How wrong I was! Still I don't worry too much what Gino thinks. Everything's crap unless he made it!
  9. hi, thanks. The original screen used one were a khaki HDPE but the one I found was a frosty clear. There was a black face plate too but it wasn't as sharp a pull as this one. I'll ask AA how old these actually are.
  10. So, some of you saw my assignation over on the RPF! So childish. Did any of you see how the apologies started to pour in when the moderator got involved? So shallow! Anyway it's a pleasure showing it off here, it's nice to have some appreciation. I understand and know all too well what has gone on with AA but I think we don't need to hear it all again. I am working Today and tomorrow then I'm off for a couple of days so I'll post some more pics up. I have also just finished constructing my Sterling E11 so I'll put a showoff thread up on that too
  11. Yeah that sort of thing.... just a different shape...
  12. Hi guys, I have stripped it back and will take some pics at the weekend and post them up. I said it was clear but it's more of a frosty clear if you know what I mean. Ironically the paint stuck to this one a lot better than the T*E one so it wasn't quite as easy as I thought it was going to be. Pics say a thousand words so I'll post them up soon.......
  13. I tell you what guys, I will try and strip tis back to how I received it and post some pics up. I have done this so many times with my T*E I know how easy it is. HDPE is so hard to get the paint to adhere the bonus is that it is easy to strip.
  14. Pablo, and anyone wanting to use the links, Click on my post the links have been fixed on that and not Pablos post......
  15. Not sure about anyone else but I'm getting tis message everytime I try the link. The requested URL /catalog/article... was not found on this server.
  16. I think the roughness just shows how good the injection molding process is as That is the paint finish on his Sterling it has picked up. I had a word with Andrew today about some of the inconsistencies in his blaster and he has said to me that he plans to address the points that I mentioned. 1. receiver diameter 2. front sight 3. greeblies on the side of the receiver as in the bayonet fixing and the flash crescent pieces. 4. The T-Track. and a few other minor things. He is even considering a moving Stock and selling them and as a kit. I'll keep you posted..............
  17. Hi, I just thought I would post up a few shots of a faceplate that I trying out from AA. It is made of Clear HDPE and I have just primed it in white primer and am going to gloss it when it dries. It is alot thicker than the T*E HPDE and isn't a full helmet but it was just lying around in his workshop and I asked if I could give it a coat of paint. AA says he may have tracked down some of the KHAKI colour HDPE he used in the 70's so I have my fingers crossed that he gets some so I can get a full helmet and paint it up with real scratches, chips and all. Any way here is the pic. It isn't a perfect pull but I will work at that when we get some Khaki HDPE............... Before After
  18. Yes that is correct. I supplied all the parts. Only the receiver , trigger guard,T track front sight housing are not cast from originals I believe. Oh and the cylinders, I made them myself. I know the Canadian sterling, I think I have that one. The folding stock is a different design and slightly longer. Mine dry fires and is strippable as it's an old spec deac. I have since put a Uk folding stock on mine. The SDS blaster is modeled off of AA's Sterling, although he did borrow mine as another reference and he used my M38, metal cased Henglester and cylinders. Scope rail and counter bracket
  19. Hi Scott, Start with your TE lids! how many lids do you have? I thought I was over doing it! Man you've made me feel better.... You've beaten my TE's by 2..... I love your ESB, that's exactly what I'm working on now.
  20. Hi Guys, I don't actually have a E11 from AA yet even though he used my parts for casting / injection molding. What I can say is if you are looking for a strong lightweight blaster for trooping you could do a lot worse than the SDS. But if you are after a screen accurate E11 then maybe this is not for you. The main difference between this and the real deal apart from the weight is that the receiver tube is a fraction smaller and the front sight is solid but could be hollowed out if you felt the need. The T-track isn't that accurate but again could be replaced. And the trigger guard is a little on the large side, I think AA may be doing these in kit form soon which would be better for anyone wanting SA. Having not got one yet I really haven't studied it for any other defects but those are the ones that stood out to me. Other than lending the parts for molding I had nothing to do with the finished product. All I can say is that the scope, Cylinders, counter and Sterling parts where all cast from originals so those parts are good to go. Joe public are not going to see anything wrong with it and it is super light and good to hold for a days trooping without your arms falling Off! To sum it up Screen Accurate = NO Light weight , Strong and fairly good looking = YES It's still more accurate than a Hasbro conversion but more expensive. There are lots of alternatives out there and it's really down to personal choice. I am going to see AA soon, I'll have another look and maybe even be given the one I was promised so I will know more then. I hope this clears up some questions. Scott do you have one of these or is that a comparison of photos?
  21. Here are some comparison shots of my TE HDPE & SDS
