  1. Okay, own up. Who's bought all the E6000? Must admit of all the things I figured would be hard to get the E6000 wasn't on the list. So for 0 for 6 on eBay listings for the 110ml size. Follow up edit: There's some that's clearly a china but locally based type operation, should I worry about "fake" or otherwise bad glues?
  2. I'll give that a watch. I probably should mention I want "light" weathering. Don't think hard used battle worn ala Sand Troopers more death star freshly issued but with those inevitable nicks these things pick up and hint at what it's made of (or not made of in this case)
  3. I've got my DD kit and assorted tart up kits on order and so have been thinking about the painting stage of the build. Would a product like rub and buff work for weathering vs the silver/black layers of paint and sandpaper approach. I feel this method would give better chance to fix any screw ups at the weathering stage. Though it make be a shade harder to weather the right parts. If so what colours would you go for a silver or more of a pewter which I think would be more in keeping.
  4. The more I see the happier I am feeling. At the moment my biggest concerns are if the under garments will fit me at all! I have ordered based on their chart but my measurements were all over the place so had to make a bit of a guess. The neck seal is the biggest concern for me, I'm a 17" neck which really doesn't match the rest of me. These are obviously quite simple to fix though. As for the velcro, it looks to be okay and would probably be good enough for most purchasers (I am guessing more than 50% will not be going for 501st). As for me, I ordered at the $450 tier so will wait and see what the early recipients find once it's in peoples hands. I'm not adverse to velcro, snaps or even "authentic" fixings but if I can save my self an evening or two making snap plates then that works for me.
  5. Just to add to what others have said. I emailed a while ago and got no response. I have now sent a message using the form on their new website and got a prompt response. I'll be ordering a pair of boots once orders reopen in October with out concern, well other than if my weird feet will fit the boots but that's my issue not theirs.
  6. It's not a bad allergy. I can handle it just not wear a watch with a high nickel content for example. The over kill was more to do with the strength on the material and weather resistance. I doubt there's any difference in "grip" between those.
  7. I've been reading the supply list for my Anovos TK build and have a question regarding the Line 24 snaps. I've found a source for the line 24 snaps in the UK. The problems is they do them in 2 grades, a Nickel and a stainless steel grade which is heavier duty. My assumption is that the Nickel ones will be up to the job, and my mild allergy shouldn't be an issue as there will be a fabric barrier. I can get the stainless ones if that's what's needed but I feel they will be overkill.
  8. The second link is what I meant! I'm planning on getting a drill press after a similar less than happy experience with a drill stand. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. You can get tungsten carbide cutters for Dremels. I don't have any in that size but I do have full size die grinder carbide bits and they cut through steel like butter if you want them to. Your plasticard counter case looks awesome. I know how it's harder than it looks as I've now binned 2! Even a small screw up shows up in a big way. Also I really like the tube drilling rig you have, do you have a brand/model name? I'm soon going to be starting an aluminium build after a failed attempt using some PVC. I'm torn on the doopy pipe kit or the more expensive Phoenix kit atm. What's the quality of the moulding like?
  10. I have wide feet so having an inch (or more) or spare toe room in a shoe is pretty normal for me. I'm thinking I'll be ordering a UK12 but if I can get away with an 11 then I'd rather that. I've also got nearly a week on my email so will probably chase over the weekend.
  11. I would rather order a full size up and add inner soles or thick socks than get some that are too small. Also those sorts of shoes can't have overly comfy inner soles by default can they?
  12. I'm in the same boat, I wear an 11UK but I know I have wide feet so waiting on email confirmation from IB before I order. I'd like to try beat the Anovos rush too if I can!
  13. I wished I hadn't passed mine on when I saw the FO bucket, then I remembered it had quite a short date on it.
  14. Good to know, I have a feeling a TIE is next on my list after I complete my TK.
  15. That's good to know. I ended up with two, the nicest one will be my armor bin the 2nd will be used in the garden.
  16. It's the hard part isn't it, testing it on your own voice is also a nightmare.
  17. Just got home. Took it out of the car with around 10kg of shopping inside maybe a bit more and it didn't even flex. I was able to roll the case on one pair of wheel (set at both ends) easily but with out a long handle it did bump my legs a bit. There's 2 lock holes in the lid and the catches lock solidly holding the non-hinged kid well. In all pretty happy with it.
  18. Here's the link to the box: ------------- I did a quick Google to see if they've been out before and there's some reviews but I didn't find any. That said I did see some on Amazon I think it was so if it's any good it might be more generally available.
  19. Seeing as the defacto standard Stanley armour bin is incredibly expensive in the UK I've been looking for an alternative for ages. Today aldi have a large wheeled 145l box for £15 so I've picked one up. This is one of their quick deals so they won't be around long. It's not as sturdy as a Stanley but I feel it will be up to the task. Will post some images once I get home.
  20. That's suggesting you've not picked the right COM port for the arduino. I forget the exact menu as I'm at work so cannot look it up but in the middle of the menus you'll need to pick 2 options: 1: the COM port that the arduino is attached to (unlikely to be 1, but there will be a list) 2: the type of arduino you're using. Check those are correct, if they aren't it's not going to work. Edit: http://www.arduino.cc/en/Guide/Windowshave a look at step 7.
  21. Some really clever hiding methods here that I might well have to borrow for my build!
  22. Just discovered Plano Storage trunks. These look pretty good theres a new one where the lid lifts off or a slightly older one with a hinged side. Both are about £55 on amazon UK. Anyone have an ideal set of internal measurements needed for an armour bin?
  23. I'll be ordering the 2MB one once my house move is over. I tried the Chinese stuff and it just was more hassle that it was worth and even then it didn't work. The only cheap nasty parts in my build and those where the bits that didn't work, go figure. PS if you want a decent and bright RGB LED look at the neo pixels. I got 5 for £5.50 ($8-9ish) and will probably only need 1 in the build, maybe 2. Big plus is they are small easy to fit with out those silly drivers, and also you can chain them if you want to.
  24. This post made* me go to Ikea. I got a Grundtal toilet roll holder that, whilst a bit long, should work great. Sadly they didn't do it in a kitchen roll size so I will have to cut it down some how but it has a nice clean look to it. *okay, I was going anyway.
  25. It's even worse when you see what they cost in the US I'm going to look at those semi hard suitcases I think. Flightcase hardware is rather expensive.
