  1. I just watched the important parts of ANH in HD slow mo, and I have the answer. The wires only appear on a couple blasters in ANH, and they are not anything like what everyone puts on their blaster. I was also surprised that only about 50% of the E-11's have counters on them. Pictures to follow.
  2. Thanks for the compliment, but the SDS doesn't belong to me. I love my AP, just wish it didn't have a slightly blue tint to it.
  3. I'll vouch for them. Their customer service and prices are first rate. I also have the advantage to being close enough to go to their store a couple times a year when I'm over that way.
  4. If you want to be a real nitpick, the hero has 3 ridges on the ear cap instead of 4.
  5. I think you seek the ESB standards page: http://www.whitearmor.net/requirements/standardESB.htm
  6. The open space is from the shape of the left FX thigh. It's actually larger at the bottom than at the top. This can be remedied with trimming of course and eliminate the barrel legged look. I made my left match the size of the right leg, and I think I trimmed a wedge that measured about an inch off the top and about 3 inches off the bottom. As to the AP helmet. I have a really big noggin as well, and it's a tight fit. One thing you can do is to trim off about 1/4 inch all the way around the neck opening. This little bit will give you a couple more inches to work with (remember HS geometry), but you may want to ask AP for a longer piece of neck trim when you order in case you have to do this. Good luck.
  7. Great looking armor trooper. Welcome to the 501st.
  8. 1/64th is 15 gauge, he is probably using 2/3 mm or possibly 1/32.
  9. Last year there was talk about AP producing an economy kit, but the project was scrapped. I read that it may be in the works again so I emailed him today about it. The reply I got stated that there have not been, and will not be any economy kits made. They are sticking with the standard kits.
  10. Thats the message that occurs when there are no new posts since your last visit.
  11. I would say that it is more than good enough for the 501st. It is a nice looking helmet.
  12. Well if we allowed that in our military someone would sue saying it's sexist.
  13. I believe ESB suits were reconditioned ANH suits. Amazing what new hand plates, and a paint job can do.
  14. Paul, I can sympathize. My wife doesn't care about it, hates to hear me talk about it, but gets mad when I don't tell her about it because I'm "not being completely honest". The catch 22 of wives.
  15. Actually thats fairly normal if your not a tall guy. I know several troopers who can't turn their head or look down very well because of the proportions of the FX helmet. An accurate helmet will let you turn your head from side to side with ease, and looking down is easier but can still be challenging.
  16. You gotta love RTEs (random trooping events). There was a burger joint back home in Arkansas called "Big Momma's" it was amazing, and most people didn't even know what it was.
  17. Like I posted in the tech center, you have to use this link if your using Netscape or Firefox: http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=16&hl=
  18. A couple of days ago I had to update my bookmark to a different FISD page because all I was getting was a blank white screen. Now for some reason the http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=16 link that is posted all over the place doesn't work in Firefox now (it does in Internet Explorer). Now I have to use http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=16&hl= to see that page in Firefox. Anyone else having problems?
  19. Save the $20 bucks. They will get blemishes from trooping in them, especially where your calf armor sit on the boot.
  20. I just squeeze and flex the helmet a little bit, and groan through the pain on my ears. Coming off is worse than putting it on. I wouldn't want to trim it cause I have a fairly long neck.
  21. Merry Christmas, and here's to troopin in the new year.
