Anyone else get burned by an Ebay buyer...and Paypal
Chunk replied to Wildabeast's topic in eBay Armor
I was on the reverse end of your problem. I bought a backapck from Japan. It never came, I emailed the seller & he responded once. Asking for more time, saying it was stuck in the post office due to snow. I waited as long as I could before the file date was up. In the end, I filed a claim with Paypal & they refunded me the money I paid. Then the seller begged me to retract my negative feedback because ebay was stoping him from selling. I told him I already filed a claim & Paypal had refunded me my money. He must have felt guilty or was trying to bribe me to retract my negative feedback, because he refunded me the total price I paid too. -
Was the ab plate upside down?
-
Has anyone ever used the "box" in the back plate? Over in the Jolly Roger Sqd. I've seen some of our pilots make a fabric wallet or bag & secure it inside the back plate. :tie:

Glad there was a happy ending to this horrible story. I hate leaving my armor tub unattened. I make frequent trips back to all "secured rooms" during my nonarmor time.

yeah, what Dashrazor said. I had the same problem years ago when painting some wheels.

Thanks for the info. Michales has a Walmart in the next lot over. Will check there 1st. I was so close. I was in the craft section of Walmart looking for popsicle sticks, not the glue.

Then off to Michaels it is tomorrow morning. THX Panda

Bodysuit,neck seal, glove combo
Chunk replied to Mostly Harmless's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
My friend gave me some rubber/mesh gloves from Harbor Freight. The top of the glove is dipped in rubber & the bottom has a black mesh like material. The mesh is thick enough to look like a solid black glove. They are form fitting & almost second skin. With the mesh palm they are super cool & breath. The bad thing they do not look like they will last many troops. The good thing I think they were under $4 a pair. I'll post pics if any one wants to see what they look like. -
Those look ok to me, but they might be a lil hot in summer troops. Man I remeber having a pair of skin tight leather gloves that would have worked perfectly for my TK. But I let the kids use them one day when it was cold. Never seen them again.

Ok, stupid question, Where do I get E6000 glue? I went to Lowes, Home Depot, & Walmart. No one knew what I was talking about. Closest thing I found was a Marine Adhesive 5200. Its getting late, so I'll try Michaels tomorrow.
-
Thanks Panda, I have a Lowes at the end of my street. Pics always make for a better understanding. Is this stuff thick? How should I apply it? Small bead or dabs & spread on both sides? I'm off to Lowes right now for some & I might as well get some more blue painters tape. I can't find mine.

I heard alot about this E6000 glue. Is this a Brand Name or is it a certain kind of glue? Will the package say E6000 on it? As for my theighs I need to make shims for those too. A few years of teaching karate gave me some nice legs or so my wife says

Hello All, Im kinda new here & not sure if I posted in the right place. I have a FX kit that I bouhgt 3yrs ago. It came all trimied & ready to assemble. I need help with the legs. I want to glue the front seam. Im going to have to make shims for the rear, but I wanted to use velcro to secure the back. My question is...Do I put ABS glue on both sides? I don't want to use too much glue as I heard too much could ruin the outer finish. I have deep clamps that will hold the middle together & spring clamps for closer to the openings. This is what I want to do, tell me if Im on the right track before I beguin. I want to mask off the outer part of the armor leaving only the area to be glued. I'll apply glue & clamp together. Im just not sure if I should apply glue to both parts or just one side. Your help is greatly appreciated....Joe

STORMTROOPER BOOTS

I have CABoots. They fit just right. I've seen some nicer looking boots out there. But right now can't afford to spend another $200 on boots. The wife is gonna kill me if I keep buying Star Wars shoes. Does anyone have the link to the TK Boots? -

Im not sure if its acceptable, but I have a "generic" brand of Under Armor that I wear.I got it at Walmart for $10 a piece. It's solid black. Most troopers I've seen at troops are wearing this type of under garment. For colder troops I have a one piece dive skin. -
Cool, I always wanted to buy a maniquin. But never got around to it. I've seen some pretty easy home made maniquins. So when I get to it, I think this is what I'll end up doing. Making it myself. If the hands dont seperate easily enough, you might consider cutting them off & remaking the hands. Use a wire coat hanger & a make a skeleton hand. Wrap with duct tape. Cover with the glove. You can position the hand any way you want.

I use a two part 5min epoxy & regular spray paint. I've done several blaster mods & never once had a problem. My favorite spray paint comes from Walmart, it's .98 a can. I know you probably dont have Walmarts in the Netherlands, but what ever you have will work. The epoxy you should be able to find at any hardware store. Some come in a syringe type container. Others are two tubes you squeeze onto a piece of aluminum & mix with a stick. Either is good. Just make sure you get the 5min drying time, or you'll be holding it along time

Seeing all the cool mods gives me ideas to mod the 6 Hasbro's I have in the garage.
