  1. Hello All, Im kinda new here & not sure if I posted in the right place. I have a FX kit that I bouhgt 3yrs ago. It came all trimied & ready to assemble. I need help with the legs. I want to glue the front seam. Im going to have to make shims for the rear, but I wanted to use velcro to secure the back. My question is...Do I put ABS glue on both sides? I don't want to use too much glue as I heard too much could ruin the outer finish. I have deep clamps that will hold the middle together & spring clamps for closer to the openings. This is what I want to do, tell me if Im on the right track before I beguin. I want to mask off the outer part of the armor leaving only the area to be glued. I'll apply glue & clamp together. Im just not sure if I should apply glue to both parts or just one side. Your help is greatly appreciated....Joe
  2. $49. for stormtrooper boots Im ordering two pair on the 1st. I already emailed them to check stock. Also wanna get thier orange sandie pauldron.
  3. HAHA, The wife said my CABoots stunk pretty bad. Luckily I have a defective nose & can't smell a thing I left mine out of the box for about a week & she said the smell was gone. Gonna have to trust her on this.
  4. I have CABoots. They fit just right. I've seen some nicer looking boots out there. But right now can't afford to spend another $200 on boots. The wife is gonna kill me if I keep buying Star Wars shoes. Does anyone have the link to the TK Boots?
  5. Im not sure if its acceptable, but I have a "generic" brand of Under Armor that I wear.I got it at Walmart for $10 a piece. It's solid black. Most troopers I've seen at troops are wearing this type of under garment. For colder troops I have a one piece dive skin.
  6. Cool, I always wanted to buy a maniquin. But never got around to it. I've seen some pretty easy home made maniquins. So when I get to it, I think this is what I'll end up doing. Making it myself. If the hands dont seperate easily enough, you might consider cutting them off & remaking the hands. Use a wire coat hanger & a make a skeleton hand. Wrap with duct tape. Cover with the glove. You can position the hand any way you want.
  7. I use a two part 5min epoxy & regular spray paint. I've done several blaster mods & never once had a problem. My favorite spray paint comes from Walmart, it's .98 a can. I know you probably dont have Walmarts in the Netherlands, but what ever you have will work. The epoxy you should be able to find at any hardware store. Some come in a syringe type container. Others are two tubes you squeeze onto a piece of aluminum & mix with a stick. Either is good. Just make sure you get the 5min drying time, or you'll be holding it along time
  8. Seeing all the cool mods gives me ideas to mod the 6 Hasbro's I have in the garage.
  9. Thanks for the compliments. I used a Hasbro E11, pvc pipe, squirt bottle, mouthwash cap, & small piece of metal. Came out pretty good, & in total about $30.00
  10. Hello Everyone, Well I stated my TK, sort of. after almost 3yrs of having it sit in my bedroom. I've decided it's time to get this thing going. Well I was test fiting the theighs & I got distracted. I saw my ewok project. It was a large teddy bear that I bought at the Goodwill for $2.00 & a Tshirt for $1.25. Took me an hour to sew the hood, but I made an ewok instead of getting to my TK. maybe tomorrow I'll get it started.
  11. Looks pretty sweet to me. Here is my version of the DL19. I didnt have access to any other props, so I had to make my own.
  12. I thought I read somewhere that the original T rails were car windshield wiper blades.
  13. I sand the entire blaster with 400 grit sandpaper. Making sure I get all the unwanted lettering off. Wipe with warm water & a paper towel. Make sure all unwanted letters are removed & fill in any unwanted screw holes with bondo. I use the premixed Bondo in a tube(redish toothpaste tube in the autoparts section). I get mine at Walmart, I think its about $3 a tube. Wait a day & sand the bondo smooth. Now I use grey primer, maybe 4 coates. Next I use silver paint. Maybe about 7-8 coats. Finally I use flat black paint with only 4-5 coats. (MAKE SURE YOU LET EACH COAT DRY INBETWEEN PAINTINGS) Now I take my 400gt or finer sandpaper & sand the entire gun lightly. Hitting the edges more where I want the silver to show through. This will give it the look of real metal underneath. You don't have to buy expensive spray paints, I use the Walmart brand at .98 a can. Here is what the finished blaster could look like. i've had my gun like this for about 3yrs now & not one paint chip.
  14. Hey All, I use the Walmart brand of paint & primer. I use the gray primer & flat black paint. Both of these are under $1 a can. I also use a brite silver or crome paint. This color you'll have to find a brand that works. Walmart used to carry silver & it was great but has since discountiued it. I've painted several guns & other props with this paint. I've never had a problem with the paint comming off. After preping the gun. I spray several coats of primer. About 4-5. You'll want to do about 6-7 coats of the silver. make sure you let each coat dry completely. Now use the flat black about 4-5 coats. After the gun is dry I take 300 grit sandpaper & sand the whole gun lightly. Hitting the edges & places I want the silver to show through more heavy. This will sand away any imperfection & give the gun a nice smooth finish with just the right amount of "weathering". Hope this helps. If you wanna see my guns, & other props I've made you can check out the tie pilot forums. Look under BFG's Im under the name of Chunk there.
  15. Hey All, I've seen the E11 at Target & Walmart for around $20. It seems that they do not come by the case, but maybe one or two a case of Clone & Stormtrooper blasters. Everytime I've seen them there are about four clones to one stormie. the other day I was lucky & I was at Target as they just stocked the shelves. I bought 3 with the intention of modifying into a larger sniper riffle. So far one down & two more to go....Happy Hunting
  16. HI, Walmart has an off brand of under armor. It's called "Athletic Works" for under $10 a peice. I wear this under my "real" body armor. It is very cool & dries super fast. Great for those troops in the summer.
  17. HI All, Does anyone know where I can get some deep spring clamps? I need them to be at least 6" deep. the only one I can find are 4" I want to plasti weld my theighs, shins & forarms. But can't find clams deep enough to go "into" the theigh or shin.
  18. Guten Tag! I have the same problems with my calves, & theighs. But unlike your muscle mass mines fat...haha I will be using the vinyl to close the gaps on my open areas. i know your post is a lil old, but I just got here last night.
