Thanks for the compliments. I used a Hasbro E11, pvc pipe, squirt bottle, mouthwash cap, & small piece of metal. Came out pretty good, & in total about $30.00
Hello Everyone,
Well I stated my TK, sort of. after almost 3yrs of having it sit in my bedroom. I've decided it's time to get this thing going. Well I was test fiting the theighs & I got distracted. I saw my ewok project. It was a large teddy bear that I bought at the Goodwill for $2.00 & a Tshirt for $1.25. Took me an hour to sew the hood, but I made an ewok instead of getting to my TK. maybe tomorrow I'll get it started.
I sand the entire blaster with 400 grit sandpaper. Making sure I get all the unwanted lettering off. Wipe with warm water & a paper towel. Make sure all unwanted letters are removed & fill in any unwanted screw holes with bondo. I use the premixed Bondo in a tube(redish toothpaste tube in the autoparts section). I get mine at Walmart, I think its about $3 a tube. Wait a day & sand the bondo smooth. Now I use grey primer, maybe 4 coates. Next I use silver paint. Maybe about 7-8 coats. Finally I use flat black paint with only 4-5 coats. (MAKE SURE YOU LET EACH COAT DRY INBETWEEN PAINTINGS) Now I take my 400gt or finer sandpaper & sand the entire gun lightly. Hitting the edges more where I want the silver to show through. This will give it the look of real metal underneath. You don't have to buy expensive spray paints, I use the Walmart brand at .98 a can. Here is what the finished blaster could look like. i've had my gun like this for about 3yrs now & not one paint chip.
Hey All,
I use the Walmart brand of paint & primer. I use the gray primer & flat black paint. Both of these are under $1 a can. I also use a brite silver or crome paint. This color you'll have to find a brand that works. Walmart used to carry silver & it was great but has since discountiued it. I've painted several guns & other props with this paint. I've never had a problem with the paint comming off. After preping the gun. I spray several coats of primer. About 4-5. You'll want to do about 6-7 coats of the silver. make sure you let each coat dry completely. Now use the flat black about 4-5 coats. After the gun is dry I take 300 grit sandpaper & sand the whole gun lightly. Hitting the edges & places I want the silver to show through more heavy. This will sand away any imperfection & give the gun a nice smooth finish with just the right amount of "weathering".
Hope this helps. If you wanna see my guns, & other props I've made you can check out the tie pilot forums. Look under BFG's Im under the name of Chunk there.
Hey All,
I've seen the E11 at Target & Walmart for around $20. It seems that they do not come by the case, but maybe one or two a case of Clone & Stormtrooper blasters. Everytime I've seen them there are about four clones to one stormie. the other day I was lucky & I was at Target as they just stocked the shelves. I bought 3 with the intention of modifying into a larger sniper riffle. So far one down & two more to go....Happy Hunting
HI,
Walmart has an off brand of under armor. It's called "Athletic Works" for under $10 a peice. I wear this under my "real" body armor. It is very cool & dries super fast. Great for those troops in the summer.
HI All,
Does anyone know where I can get some deep spring clamps? I need them to be at least 6" deep. the only one I can find are 4" I want to plasti weld my theighs, shins & forarms. But can't find clams deep enough to go "into" the theigh or shin.
Guten Tag!
I have the same problems with my calves, & theighs. But unlike your muscle mass mines fat...haha
I will be using the vinyl to close the gaps on my open areas. i know your post is a lil old, but I just got here last night. My wife is from Germany(Berlin) If you need help with some translations or descriptions of what an item is we can help.
