  1. Ok, just got back from Harbor Freight the clamps are $6.99ea. I bought two more & a few other various spring clamps. I glued the other calve, & will knock out both forearms when I get back from dinner. Assembling is addicting
  2. If anyone needs these deep clamps & doesn,t have Harbor Freight in their town. I can pick them up & mail them to you. They are heavy, but I can fit maybe four into a "one price" post office box. Last time I checked that was $9.95 any where in the United States. If you need more I'll have too step up to the larger box, which I think is $14.95. I can probably get up to 8pr in that box. I wont be able to get any til the 1st of May. I work for the state of california & get paid once a month
  3. Hi Eric, Nope the Tie Is my favorite right now. Its so comfy, I can wear it for long periods at a time. I bought the clamps at HARBOR FREIGHT. I belive I got them on sale for $6 or $7 each. Regular price was $9. I knew someone had to make deep clamps. I searched the internet for years, I made trips to Lowes, Home depot, Walmart, small hardware stores & even Harbor Freight & nothing. Then one day I was looking for something else at HF & boom there they were I bought them right there & then. Wasn't gonna take a chance of them not being there the next time. But now Im thinking I should have got another pair. Ohh well live & learn, maybe I'll make a trip down today & pick up a 2nd pair.
  4. I just glued the front seams. The backs are open, I need to shim the rears. The long clamps are what held me up all this time. I always wanted to glue them. I knew someone had to make "deep" clamps. I got them at Harbor Freight $6 ea. I modified them a bit. I taped a 1" Lego brick on the "hand" part of the clamp. It fits just right into the under seam of the armor. NEXT QUESTION... The E6000 says it takes 24-72hr to cure. Due I have to leave the clamps on for minimum of 24 hrs? Or can I remove them & just let the armor sit with out touching it for the next few days. I'd rreally like to get to another armmor part
  5. Here are some pics of me statring my build. Disreguard my mess. I woke up took a shower, kissed the wife & told her I'd see her some time later. I didn't want to be disturbed. She's just glad I actually started on my armor.
  6. Off to the room to take pics... Will post in a bit
  7. Started a new thread as I have begun my armor build
  8. Hey All, Well after having my FX kit sit in my bedroom for almost 3yrs to the day. I"ve begun putting it together. I masked off the legs & forarms. I've sanded the joining parts, & trimmed the excess off the theighs. I applied the glue to one of the calves. Now Im at a stand still as I wait for the glue to dry on this piece of armor. I used 6 diffrent clamps to hold it closed. I used E6000 to glue the front seam of the legs. I'll have to shim the rear. I wanna velcro the shim in, just incase there is a weight change. I'll post more updates as I get to them
  9. On my way now, how much gas do I need to drive from California to Florida
  10. I've been looking at the Stanley 24gl roller tub. It's just a lil too big for the $50 charge. It will be $150 each way I may just have to wear my Imperial Crewman.
  11. Make a stand now Wade. I always tell my wife she goes before my Star Wars stuff goes. My partner at work has a son who's wife made him sell most of his Star Wars collection. I scored! I filled up my car trunk with so much stuff. It looked like I ripped off Toys R Us. I was able to get 50+ figures, 8 12" dolls, Ridell scaled Darth Vader helmet, cards sets, & a whole bunch of other stuff all in its original packageing for $100
  12. Congradulations. May you both have a long & happy marriage.
  13. No TKs sometimes Im usually the odd man out with my Tie Pilot. But I guess being in So California, there are lots of Stormies here.
  14. Man they get you comming & going literly. I havn't been on an airline in about 5yrs. I can't belive the times haved changed that they now charge for luggage. How do they expect people to travel. Don't give me a super low ticket price & then charge me for luggage, food, nuts, drinks..ect Raise the ticket price a lil & incoroparte all that into the ticket price. Now I have to show up with $50 each time I show up at the ticket counter. The only good thing I may be able to squeeze everything into one bag. But it all depends on how much I spend at Celb 5. You know now that you mention it, 3800lbs is alot. Now that I do the math. Maybe a few hundred pounds. But with the airlines chargeing outrageous prices for luggage. Mine mite be the only tub in the cargo hold
  15. Hello All, Waderawpunk's question about armor tubs got me thinking. What do you fly with? Is a large helmet ok for carry on? I can probably fit my gear into a 20-25gal tub without the helmet. But the helmet is what kills me. Does anyone know what is considered "oversize" for luggage? I'll be flying American Airlines to Florida, & Delta back to California. I know both are owned by the same parent company so both should charge the same rate. Blackwatch over in the JRS works for an airline companny & says your tub should be able to withstand at least 3800lbs of pressure on it. With the tubs being square & flat on top. They will deffinatly go on the bottom of the luggage compartment. I'd hate to get to Florida & pick up my luggage only to find my tub was squashed & my gear ruined.
  16. What Im concered about it is the weight that will be piled on top of my tub during flight. These plastic tubs are great for local troops. But Blackwatch over in the JRS works for an airline & says that your tub shuold be able to withstand over 3800lbs on top of it. I'd hate to get to Florida & pick up my luggage only to find that my tub was crushed & my gear ruined. With it being square & having a flat top it would deffinatly go on the bottom of the luggage compartment. Im looking at teh Stanly rugged tub. But is that considered oversize? Also does anyone know what the norm is for ovarsize charge? Is it by weight or size? never flown with my gear.
  17. I give my wife days, sometimes weeks in advance that I'll be working on one of my Star Wars projects. I drop hints that on my next day off I wanna work on my project. I always ask if we have any plans, if none. I'm free to work all day on a project. She gives me the go ahead to be outside all day. Now that the weather is getting warmer. It's time to start asking permission again

Well let me get my wife over here. She can give you some great ideas & things to do while in Berlin. It's her home town. I had a great time when I visited 5yr ago. Ok, She said it would be easier to answer if she knew a lil about you. How old, what do you like to do, what are you interested in doing, how long will you be there. I'll check back later....
