  1. Aaron, Fantastic job all around. That cover came out great. Nice to see what the red flash looks like, I have the green for mine. The fans are gonna love it! Good luck on not smacking anybody with it. Oh and nice hat.
  2. I agree with Allan. I did the same thing. Using the same pcs pretty much. We all look a little different but basically we follow the same idea. Plus look at EIB and Centurion submissions for photos. Many like myself didn't do a build thread but it could give visual input. Good luck and glad to see you chose HWT!
  3. Didn't you already ask this in a different thread yesterday?
  4. Great job on your blaster. You are a 3D artist! The details are fantastic.
  5. Hey Kenneth, the suit you ordered will be fine. That's the average gauge for the plastic. You'll be racking up the troops with no problem as long as you take your time, do your research and put together a nice solid build. The benefit of that gauge is the flex and little bit of give to move easier. THT
  6. I've never seen this kind of set up before. I notice in your picture you don't have any mesh in your grill. I'd use that to at least help hide the hose. I also noticed you completely covered fan with tape. That might make a heat/resistance situation. I'd be worried about fan noise coming out of grill also. By no means am I knocking your idea. Just observation. Have you looked at fan builds here? We all pretty much mount them in the same general area pointing up on sides of face. Like you said just the air movement was enough. Again kudos on your ingenuity, and good luck at staying cool.
  7. Ok! Back to good. Game on...!
  8. The coverstrips attach to the outer half of each shin. So that a tight seam is viewed from the side.as seen in Evan's photo above.
  9. Well the CRL says MP-40 style or similar. They're similar. Just need to be black. Good luck painting with all those nook's and crannies. The OCD in me would put blocks of wood in them to start retraining the leather back to straight.
  10. The best advice is to check with Sly or Tony on that one as they are in charge of approval. My only concern would be to make it durable. I strap mine nice and tight so it doesn't move. The pan's we use fit nice around the raised O II on back piece.
  11. Thanks Aaron. Just ordered mine, can't wait for this build! Now to get some gas and burn my inaccurate RT-Mod. I'm saddened that we and the films have been wearing the TD wrong the whole time.
  12. Welcome to the FISD Brian! Looks like your on your way to a nice set of armor. Good luck Valentine Trooper?
  13. Your base is only taller but is thinner which is better. As for this style pack I haven't seen a scratch built one. Most are using the 16qt pan and I think I saw one using a 12qt variant.
  14. Mine is the Bavarian automotive 16qt. Pan. It measures 21"H X 15 1/2"W X 7"D
  15. Great job doing this Joseph and don't forget my trading card. Lol
  16. Just remember that board can heat up so it does need air space. For your speaker you could build the cover box and drill a few holes in bottom to let sound out and would look more accurate. If your doing all that work you should make it passable if you aim for EIB or Centurion. Just a suggestion.
  17. Glad to see some progress.how are you gonna make and mount the discharge cover over speaker and protect electronic board? The trigger looks great. I can't imagine how you got that in there if it didn't separate. Looking foward to seeing next update.
  18. First I gotta say "I ain't afraid of no ghosts" but seriously,Shea we all have a little differences in our packs because, we each build our own. But the one thing that seems to be the same is the old milk jug/sport drink caps. My only notice is that yours look "thick" I'll call it on the cover. Plus side note: I believe Egon built all the GB packs. Doe,Ray,Me,Egon!!!
  19. Looking good Shea! Covers are coming along nicely.
  20. How about a little doubled over white duct tape. The loop should flex enough and come back and peel it off when done.
  21. Stunt and Hero
  22. Hey Brian, welcome fellow trooper! Your never too old to be a stormtrooper. I myself am in my mid forties and I'm sure that's average for around here. And don't shy away from EIB because you didn't build it yourself. It you think it's up to snuff, go for it! Not everyone builds everything themselves. Many commission things they can't make themselves. We all help each other. Troopers helping Troopers. Good luck and happy trooping!
