  1. Looks like we have a winner! Congrats to Glen, (gmrhodes13) who went ALL-OUT for this contest... your jacket is on it's way, sir! Second place goes to Garrison Carida's very own Preston (Pretzel). Great job, gentlemen!
  2. Welcome, Josh! While I am not sure about importing an entire weapon (prop or regular) to Australia, I am sure that the Doopydoos kit would be fine. However, I would advise ordering it as soon as possible. Delivery to the states runs between 6 to 8 weeks, and it could be even more to AU. Depending on when your armor kit is supposed to arrive, that could give you something to work on while you hurry-up-and-wait for it. I would also think about getting everything ready and in place for your build for when your kit arrives. I have a thread (Supply List for your TK Build) that may help, and there is a link under the large avatar below. Best of luck, and we are looking forward to your build thread!
  3. Nice touch, folks. No matter what she thought of the Empire, I have a feeling that deep down she always had a soft spot for Stormtroopers..
  4. Tony is absolutely correct on this. Since there is no holster or drop boxes on the HWT, it saves a ton of time taking them on and off. Also, your canvas belt will get "dirty" from the weathering, (as it should be), so if you are planning on switching costumes often, your regular shiny white TK will look bad. Alternatively, you could go HWT full time!
  5. Just remember that you can (and should) eliminate all the return edges on both ends of the forearm before fitting and gluing.
  6. As long as you know someone there to have them shipped to, I don't think it would be a problem, Mark. If you don't know anyone, and depending on what part of N.Y you are heading to, perhaps you could ask one of your fellow Attaches located there (Allan, Steve, or Anthony) if they could have them shipped there and pick them up. Their contact info. can be found on the Attache list: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/38483-fisd-imperial-attache-list/
  7. Just be sure to steer clear of anything you find online, especially eBay. Despite what they say in their ads, 99.99% are not approvable. I suggest sticking with one of the armorers from the list that John supplied the link to,
  8. Good question! I wouldn't think so, but would be interested in finding out if anyone knows.
  9. A couple of things that may help you are to use some sandpaper (starting with 120 grit) and smooth down the top rear portion of your thighs, finishing it off with 220 grit. It looks a bit ragged, and could snag on your under-suit. For more comfort, I would also remove the return edge around the groin/cod section of your ab plate, as well as the ones on the inside of the tops of your forearms. Down the road, (and depending on how often you troop) you may want to trade in the Velcro connections for snaps. Best of luck on your submission, and soon you will have that official TK number under your name!
  10. Welcome to the FISD, Kevin! If we can be of any help, just let us know.
  11. Judging from the other photos in the ad, it looks as if this may be meant for cold weather applications, Christopher, (but I may be wrong). It definitely has some interesting features, like the thumb loops and built-in balaclava, but if it were me I would go with a 2 piece set up. You can purchase a quality compression shirt and pants on Amazon for less than $40.00. It does have the built in front fly, but that may difficult to take advantage of in full armor.
  12. You need to send an email to troopergear@gmail.com for pricing, availability, etc.
  13. I would like to add that I appreciate all the positive comments on this thread, and that everyone is keeping it civil. Sometimes these discussions can get a bit intense, as you may have seen on other threads, and it shows me that we are all striving to make this work out to all our advantage. Well done!
  14. Here is a link to the thread I just posted with the diagrams: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/40081-note-on-hwt-pack-specs/
  15. First, it is GREAT to see all the new HWTs coming on board! This costume provides you the option of trooping as two different characters, as you can remove the extra accessories and clean up your armor to troop as a shiny white TK when needed. However, there needs to be some continuity among us. As with any costume here, there are certain guidelines that need to be followed, which is why we have the CRLs in place. The HWT pack used for this costume is based on the original Star Wars Battlefront game, and as such the details need to follow those seen there. We realize that not everyone has access to all the parts that are listed in the most popular pack build threads, but those items can be sourced from different places and still meet the requirements, In order to keep everyone on the same page, I have asked Sean (TK 77019) to draw up some diagrams for me with measurements agreed upon with Tony (ukswrath), who is a fellow DO, as well as the maker of the pack build that most of us followed. As there are no precise screen caps available, these measurements are to assist you as a general guide, and you will be allowed a certain amount of leeway to get you as close as possible to the "original", and if followed, will be acceptable to EIB and Centurion levels. Please note the absence of extra greeblies, lights, etc. (Please see notes at bottom of post). PLEASE NOTE: The antenna is shown on the above pack, but is NO LONGER PERMITTED, even for basic approval. The thickness of the pack base can run from 3.5 inches (shown) to 6 inches.
  16. We are in the process of updating the HWT CRLs and working on standardizing the packs, which are based on the ones seen Battlefront game. For continuity purposes they should be more or less the same for basic approval through Centurion. Some have elected to add various greeblies, lights, video monitors, etc. to their packs, which are fine to a point. But, when you have 2 or more HWTs at one troop, and they look totally different the public perception changes, so we need some consistency. If you look at a Sandie pack, they allow VERY little (if any) personalization in their CRL. I am not saying by any means that we have to be that strict, but we have to draw the line somewhere and set some standards.
  17. A lot of it will depend on your height, Chris. If you look at some of the Centurion submission photos http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/72-request-centurion-status/they will give you an idea of what to do as far as how to trim them. Since some Troopers are taller/shorter than others, the amount will vary, but as long as you follow the the existing curve, you will be fine, Don't worry about the return edges on the back (or front) of the thighs, as these are not required for any level. As for the elbows, remove all return edges. You will be much more comfortable as they will not dig into you when bending your arm and allow you a greater range of motion.
  18. Welcome, Javi! We can always use another HWT in the ranks, and I am looking forward to seeing your build! If you can post photos of your progress, we can help you better, and if you have any specific questions, just let me know. I am going to PM you some diagrams of measurements.
  19. First, thanks for your service, Sebastian! Like Mark suggested, I would go with the Doopydoos kit. http://www.doopydoos.com/stormtrooper-e-11-complete-anh-e-11-blaster-kit-offer-2685-p.asp Since it is sent from the UK and is in kit form, you should have no problems. Be aware, though, that shipping can take up to 8 weeks (at least here to the states) and once you order it you will more than likely receive no further communication from them, even if you email them to ask a question. You will receive it, though. Just be prepared to hurry up and wait. If you want to take it to the next level of realism, I highly suggest getting one of Tino's (T-Jay) E-11 finishing kits: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/28444-fs-completion-sets-for-e-11-resin-kits-with-worldwide-insured-shipping-and-paypal/ He is actually located in Germany, and can get you one quickly.
  20. AWESOME idea, Shea! The resourcefulness of the folks on here never ceases to amaze me.. now I have my weekend project!
  21. You will also notice that a Sandie's "weathering" contains reddish to orange colors, and the weathering for us HWTs is black.
