My lenses are green enough already... Plus, my aim isn't that good.

I use shaving cream, (the foam type, not the gel). I dab a bit inside, rub it around with my finger, and wipe it it off with a clean soft cloth. Lasts for 4 to 5 troops normally.

That would make one heckova keychain, Robert.

http://www.trustedreviews.com/opinions/star-wars-battlefront-weapons-guide As for the packs, you must admit that the HWT version currently used is pretty easy to build using common items anyone can locate. A Sandie pack, not so much, and a lot more expensive. I doubt many people (myself included) would even attempt to build one like the Jedha patrol pack and get it 100% accurate. Close? Maybe, but for the amount of work it would take I'll stick with my HWT. I agree that the low resolution of the game doesn't help, but I think we're danged close. We don't have the luxury of an onscreen pack to see in detail, and Hot Toys doesn't make a HWT, so the original CRL had to start somewhere. I also agree about the pauldrons. IMHO they should all be orange, even for basic approval. (It's not as if they cost more than black or white ones). "The HWT should be more on the line with this concerning shape (not the bend in the pack like a TDs, but the squared look to it)". I agree, but finding a box that size that would hold up to the rigors of trooping would be difficult, to say the least. The oil pan idea works perfectly.

Don't forget the T-21s!!!

The main photo is one of the main changes, but there will be nothing drastic. Mostly small items, like the TD, (why have it listed if you can't wear it with the pack) and no drop boxes at any level (they aren't shown in the Battlefront game that the costume is based on), and that the pack will be a required part of the costume **. Nothing has been finalized yet, and it is still in discussion. Like I said, nothing major, so all of us present HWTs are fine, don't worry. I am not giving up my antenna. ** There have been several "wannabe" HWTs that wear a pauldron, ammo packs and carry a large weapon, but don't feel the need to build the pack. The argument they give is "Well, not all Sandies wear packs..." Well, we are not Sandies.

Let me see some helmet builds (looking at inside ideas)
justjoseph63 replied to Gizamoe's topic in ANH (Stunt and Hero)
You can't go wrong with one of Tony's cooling fan kits, Stephen. He makes so many gizmos to go in your bucket that you may not have room for your head, LOL! As for cushions, I started out using 1 inch thick chair foam (available at any fabric store) covered in black cloth on the sides and top. I found that I had to remove the top part, though, as it made my helmet ride too far up, so I was constantly tilting it forward just to be able to see. Since my head doesn't touch the top anyway, I got rid of it. It also gives you more room for electronics! What I ended up with was a 1 inch thick piece of foam 3 inches wide cut to a horseshoe shape, which runs from ear to ear. I covered it with black cotton fabric and it is attached to the bucket with Velcro strips. It works like a charm, and being removable, I can remove it for cleaning. -

Are these boots ok for ANH Stunt TK?
justjoseph63 replied to kmeeone's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
I agree. Hopefully you will out trooping on a regular basis, and leather holds up so much better. The extra money it costs to get a pair from TK Boots or Imperial Boots would serve you well, and there would be no question as to whether they would be approved. If you go with Imperial Boots (as I did) I suggest ordering one size larger than you normally wear. -

The elastic on the sides would have to be painted white, but those should get you through basic approval just fine, Chris, maybe even level 2. The "man made upper" may get permanent nicks in the finish due to the calf armor rubbing on it if you plan on trooping in it a lot, though. Hopefully someone may have a set of these and can weigh in. -

I have purchased one of these for both my sets of armor, and they work GREAT! Takes me all of 30 seconds to put them on, and they never, ever slip or slide: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/29991-thigh-garter-system/?hl=%2Bthigh+%2Bgarter+%2Bsystem -

Dremel Bit Cutting Test - Trimming examples
justjoseph63 replied to Jaltrooper's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Great post, Jon! I tried several of the bits you shoed, and like you mentioned, most just burn the ABS. I found that in the end a pair of tin-snips and a razor knife did the best for me. I did use the Dremel sanding drum attachment to save some time smoothing out the return edges before sanding, though. With any of the Dremel bits, I recommend starting with a slow speed until you get the hang of it, as they can get out of control quickly. -
feedback only when helmet is on
justjoseph63 replied to MrSnrub's topic in Electronics for Helmets / Blasters
Where is the speaker located? I have my Aker attached with Velcro to the inside of my chest plate pretty low, and found out early on that it's best to do a "volume check" before putting your bucket on. Keeping the volume lower helps, but I did eventually switch to a better (anti feedback) mic. -
Looks MUCH better, Pawel! That should look really sweet when you get it complete.
