  1. I have a set of lenses you can have, Brett. I'll even take care of the postage Just PM me your shipping info. and I'll get those in the mail tomorrow
  2. Hola! I have a friend in my Squad that wants to have a FN-2187 specific bucket painted (replete with blood stains) to go with the FO kit he is building. Are there any detailed, close-up photos that anyone has available? Also, if anyone has done this, what color/type paint did you use? Thanks in advance for any and all info.!!
  3. Definitely something to think about... Depending on the amount of detail it could be one of the printed type with the embroidered edge. That BHG design looks like it would lose a lot of the detail if 100% embroidered, but I am digging the design!!
  4. Looking SHARP, Mike! I promise you will be happy with that "double snap" system.. (I swear by it). Outstanding job on that ab/kidney connection. I see an EIB badge under your name shortly, and then on to Centurion!
  5. Looking forward to seeing your design, Eric!!!!!!
  6. You better get on the ball with that design, Preston... (You may have a bigger job coming up)!
  7. Glad to see that you are stepping up, Scott! You should give us a sample!
  8. That stitching should be fine, Henning. Since it is black, it will not be that noticeable. The only problem you may have is that it looks as if it's made of a cotton-like material, and the black color may bleed onto your armor and fade after one or two washings. You should look for a polyester "compression" top (and bottom). These will hold their shape much better and not change color at all, even after many troops.
  9. I gotta' admit it does make my pack easier to find in a crowded parking lot, though. <--- (sarcasm)
  10. Buen trabajo, Luis! Bienvenido al rango de Centurion !!! Ā”Otra adiciĆ³n orgullosa a la guarniciĆ³n espaƱola!
  11. Just please, PLEASE don't add "antenna toppers", I beg everyone. No matter how "cool" they may look. -----------
  12. Judging from what I've seen so far, you should substitute the word confidence for the word hope. You are doing the right thing by taking your time and asking questions.
  13. One thing you can do is to add inside cover strips, Kevin. I used scraps from the build to make these, as they don't have to be pretty, just functional. I especially recommend using them on the insides of the front of the calves. Those joints get flexed quite a bit when putting them on/pulling them off, and often get more stress than any others. The ABS that Anovos uses is pretty flexible, but it never hurts to add a little "insurance" to the inside. It doesn't have to be ABS, even a heavy duty white plastic "For Sale" sign cut into strips will do. GREAT job on removing the return edges on the wrist side of the forearms, and you can do the same to the elbow side as well and make it to Centurion. I would do this before final fitting/gluing, though. You can (and should) remove all the return edges from the tops of your thighs as well, following the natural shape of the pieces. Another thing you may want to do (from a comfort standpoint) is to trim the return edges from the tops of your biceps (shown in red below) as well as those jagged connections (shown in blue). They can (and will) cut into your arm and snag on your undersuit Keep up the fantastic work!!
  14. Easy fixes all, Braff. Great to hear that you are on your way to Centurion!!
  15. That would be it! You actually sent me 2 or 3, and I used one of the others on my last build.
  16. Looking good, Braff, and great job on that AM kit! You might want to trim down all of the cover strips to where they are flush with the edges of your armor, especially the tops of the thighs (front and back) and the wrists of the forearms. SUPER nice job on the ab/kidney connections and rivet alignment!!
  17. Looking sharp, Enrico! It may be the photograph, but it appears that the rear sight on your E-11 is on backwards...the side with the ridges needs to face the rear. If this is the case, you will need to fix that. I did the exact same thing and it is an easy 10 minute fix. If you need any help just PM me and I will show you how I did it. (BTW, those hand plates were made by me, not TM).
  18. A lot of it depends on the type of event, Solomon. For a church function you should be fine, but I would check with the person in charge of it first. Normally trooping alone at an event is not such a good idea. Without an experienced handler, people (especially kids) can get a little rambunctious. I know a Trooper who did a 10 year old's birthday party alone which was supposed to last an hour, but he left 15 minutes into it after the kids kept punching his armor and the parents just watched and laughed. He also had his TD stolen. I highly discourage anyone going to an event alone where alcohol is involved. The adults are worse than the kids.
  19. This is my version of the grappling hook set up. Mine are solid resin cast as opposed to 3-D printed: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/40467-grappling-hookboxes-for-sale/
  20. I grew up with 3 little sisters, so I completely understand.. never a dull moment.
  21. Super nice job on that button paint, John. A lot of people go overboard and make them too wide, which would need to be removed later on if (hopefully) aiming for levels 2 and 3. Using a Q-tip was a smart idea, since it gives more control. I'd be really interested in finding out how those power packs work out for you, and how long they last. (I get tired of spending a small fortune on batteries)! Also, don't forget to paint the screws on your TD black. Looking GREAT so far, so keep up the good work!!
  22. The sound of crickets chirping is getting deafening...
