  1. Kalani is correct. They have only short shifts (as well as Disney handlers), and their voices are pre-recorded. (They don't "speak" except on stage). Their armor is utilitarian since it is used by different people. Disney trivia: If you are a DIsney character, you are (literally) not allowed to tell people that. You must say that you are "A friend of _______" (Darth Vader, a Stormtrooper, Snow White, etc.) I live next door to the "Friend of the Fairy Godmother" from Cinderella.
  2. Looking SHARP, David! As mentioned, you will need to bring your belt up quite a bit. It should touch or even overlap your ab button plate, (see photo). An easy fix with a few snaps in the back. I am thinking with this build you can certainly make it to Centurion, but you will need to adjust your drop boxes (another easy fix) to where they line up with the ends of the ABS belt. Great job, sir, and I see n EIB badge under your name soon! Side note, I edited your title to reflect that this is ANH Stunt
  3. These are the ones I use for non canon trooping: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NOMEX-FLIGHT-FLYERS-GLOVES-PILOT-FIRE-RESISTANT-Black-Green-Tan-All-Sizes-/300520952984?var=600010474211&hash=item45f871d498:m:m0oCvopejfooVcbxUKvDZzQ The extended wrist is great because it doesn't slip out from underneath your forearm armor. They fit perfectly.
  4. HOLY CROW do we have some serious talent out there!
  5. In order to reach level 3, you will be required to have rubber gloves.
  6. In that case, I would go with Tony's (ukswrath) FO build thread here: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/31877-ukswraths-fotk-build-thread-tk-10116/
  7. Looking SHARP, Christoph!!!! If I could make a suggestion (not related to your submission) I would take a file and some sandpaper and round out the sharp edges on your TD clips. This will keep them from scratching your armor when you slide it on your belt. Great job on your back/kidney.butt connections! The blaster turned out awesome, but IMHO could use a bit of weathering. I can see a Centurion badge under your name soon!
  8. Any of the armorers you find in that section are tried and true, Toshi.
  9. GREAT to see you made it, Enrico, and welcome to the rank of Centurion!! I hope you will stress to your fellow members in the Italian Garrison to follow in your foot boot steps!
  10. To be honest, Matt, I would ditch the Velcro strapping system that comes with the Anovos kit. If you (hopefully) plan on Trooping on a regular basis, I would go with the snap system, as it provides added security to keep various armor pieces from coming off during a troop. Velcro can (and will) wear out over time from constant use, but snaps can last forever, more or less. I recommend checking out some of the various Centurion level submission threads, which require photos of the internal strapping. Here is a link to Theo's (ScaryGuy) level 3 submission thread where he used the "double snap" system like I did: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/38605-tk-31026-requesting-anh-stunt-centurion-status-anovos274/ (scroll down to photo # 20). You can use single snaps instead of double, but I like the added security of knowing that nothing will ever, ever come undone.
  11. Looking good, Scott, and SO glad to see that you ditched the Anovos Velcro and went with a much better strapping system as well as getting a new canvas belt. It looks as if you will be (hopefully) aiming for Centurion, so here are a few suggestions.. I would raise your ABS belt until it touches the ab button plate, (or even overlaps it a bit), change out the screen in the hovi-mic tips to a wider mesh and paint the inside white, and include photos of the back of your TD. GREAT job painting those ab plate buttons!!!
  12. Eric is spot-on. If you are looking to spend that sort of money, there are armorers located in the Getting Started section that can sell you a kit that is MUCH more accurate. Sellers like this one on Etsy copy other people's hard work without permission and use it to make a buck. Shameless. If you just want a costume for Halloween or the occasional con, that one is fine. However, if you want to get involved in a worldwide community that will give you the chance to wear it year-round, meet some great people and do some positive things in the world, I would consider purchasing from one of the vendors here, (link below). As a side benefit, you can ask endless questions on your build here and get help from a whole Detachment of people who are more than willing to assist you! http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/11538-the-various-types-of-armor-and-where-to-find-them/
  13. I feel your pain, brother... I didn't have a little brother to destroy my stuff, but I spent 4 years ('77-'80) collecting every single item that was SW related, and I mean everything! I entered the Navy at 18, and left behind 4 packing crates full of new-in-box items. My mom later wrote me while I was stationed overseas to inform me that she had "Sold all my SW stuff to my childhood friend for $150.00". Ouch. (At least she gave me the money, though, LOL)...
  14. Awesome idea, Allan! Count me in!
  15. Congrats, Angie, and welcome to rank of EIB! You have a little work to get to Centurion, but all should be easy fixes. GREAT job on that armor, and I hope to see your level 3 submission soon!!
  16. From the opening scene when the Imperial Star Destroyer first entered (and entered, and entered..) the screen, I was hooked. The defining moment for me was the Tantive IV, though. Blasters going, smoke everywhere, Rebels being picked off left and right like fish in a barrel by shiny white spacemen, and then the grand entrance by you know who. I thought "It just doesn't get any better than this..." but it did. Well, until the appearance of Jar Jar Binks, that is..
  17. I highly recommend hitting Lowe's or a hobby shop and picking up a cheap "woodburning kit" like this: https://www.lowes.com/pd/Weller-Electric-15-Piece-Wood-Burning-Kit/3402984 to make the holes with. It makes and seals the edges of the holes in one step, and prevents fraying/weakening of the edges. If you decide to use one of these, be SURE to be in a well ventilated area, as the smell is just awful. Not only did I double-up on the elastic, I added CA (super) glue to the inside of each rivet. I have had no problems, even after dozens and dozens of troops.
  18. That's what we are trying to do. Pauldrons, accessories and packs. Nothing more. Like I said, if someone wants to suggest a completely different version for a different type of character, that's entirely up to them. The only one I am interested in at this point is the one in the first link. Will there be changes? Yes. Will they be drastic? Not really. As for weapons, if someone is an approved as a HWT at the time when T-21s are allowed, they can carry them as far as I am concerned. We cannot be the CRL police, forbidding someone to carry a particular weapon, we can only make suggestions. As long as we provide a comprehensive CRL for people to follow we will be going in the right direction. Will the CRL change again in the future? More than likely, but we have to start somewhere and get it standardized sooner rather than later.
  19. Please understand that I have never played any of the Battlefront video games and I realize that, like the films, each one has it's own nuances and differences. I am only going by screen grabs that are apparently from the original one. Ammo packs, no drop boxes, all orange pauldrons, and the basic pack as seen here: http://i.imgur.com/zc35PRZ.png So when I refer to HWT, that is one I mean. Apparently there are a number of different versions of this game, including this one: http://i1243.photobucket.com/albums/gg542/William_Shawn_Cantey/Battlefront%20Shocktrooper%20Build/large_zpsfm8keqph.jpg, which is WAY different from what we have now. Packs are totally different, no ab buttons, no ammo packs, the spaces on the thigh ammo pack are painted black, and no one is carrying any sort of heavy weapon. If someone wants to do this style, I say go for it, but we can't start combining too many different elements of different games. It would just get too confusing. I am not out to re-invent the wheel, just clarify and change a few things on the current CRL. Nothing more, nothing less. As for the mysterious # 7....... On the list of allowed weapons, that statement is listed under the T-21.
  20. Here are the basic things I have suggested as changes to the current HWT CRLs, (and why). 1. Pack should be a MUST for basic level. I have seen several "HWT" Troopers wearing an orange pauldron, ammo packs and carrying a large weapon, but no pack. When questioned, I was told that "Well, some Sandies don't wear packs". Well, HWTs are not Sandies. 2. No drop boxes, even at basic level- If you want to put all that work into becoming a HWT, this should be a minor change. SInce holsters are not allowed even for basic approval, and most Troopers use elastic loops to hold them onto the belt, they can be easily removed and re-attached for trooping as a regular TK along with the holster. 3. Eliminate TDs from the CRL completely.- They cannot be worn with a pack, so why include them? 4. Packs should be "weathered" for basic approval- HWTs are "battle" characters. When the armor is weathered and the pack is not, it looks strange 5. No major geeblies, video monitors, flashing LED light displays, etc. on packs for basic or higher approval. 6. Photos in main post updated- This is in the works. 7. Either eliminate the requirement for this or update the CRL with a detailed photo of it. I can supply a photo of mine, and these are easily accessible in resin for pretty cheap. Sight shall be present on top where ribbing meets base. 8. No antenna on the packs- Or leave this as an option. I have one on mine, (as do most others at this point). If the CRL changes do not not allow it, I assume everyone already approved would be "Grandfathered" in. These are not radical changes, folks, and are still up for debate. Some have suggested that we change the entire pack design completely to reflect the actual game exactly. Perhaps in the future, but right now I feel the basic pack we have is not only acceptable, but the materials to make it are available to anyone without having to resort to 3-D printing and possessing an engineering degree in plastics manufacturing. Just my 2 credits worth.
