  1. I personally don't like the way the back plate on FX/AM armor fits over the kidney armor, the chest plate and helmet are not the only "screen accurate" flaw in a FX/AM style kit. I personally would go with the higher quality ABS kits out there AP or TM would be my personal choice. if you want a really accurate kit then you should look into the above types. almost every part of the AM armor is "close" but not exact. my 2 credits.
  2. e6000 fills the inside of mine, with the fronts glued on. you have to count the number of ribs to get the position correct. I used han solo's armor as a guide. the angle of the straps and the positioning is actually a little wonky if you're setting up an AP. the chest is sculpted like the originals the same wonk is on my armor as on the originals... can be a little tricky. I used 2" wide black elastic with 3 snaps. 2 snaps for the front plate, and rear plate. the 3rd snap is for my shoulder bells. the shoulder bell snaps are biased towards the front of the connecting strap, they are not exactly in the center. this helps to hold them on my shoulders at the correct angle. I used leather non elastic for the shoulder bells. keeps the distance the same from the shoulder strap as I move around.
  3. sorry brothers... I also have to chime in here. MIKE is the best builder out there. I've used his methods on 3 buckets. completely invaluable information and guideance. when I saw the manual being offered, I at first said to myself... "we don't really need that" and then I saw the price and I said... "that's not a bad price for what he probably put into it!" (another wasted post for me too... sheesh...) raises his glass of blue mood alterant... 3 cheers for a manual! hip hip... stormtrooper hip hip stormtrooper hip hip... storm trooper.
  4. just from those photos alone it looks like a different scope, rail and greeblies. as well as tip
  5. you helped make an old man with cerebral palsy happy. this detachment gives me the focus and hobby joy that I had when I wore star trek or logan's run costumes. brings back for me the childhood memories of wanting to see sci-fi as an accepted form of normal entertainment. hey there andy? any news on that lil' babe you've got there! thanks again andy, I"m sure you didn't want to really sell off such amazing original parts. you made it easy for me to realize the dream. eventually people will have a more respectable hengstler counter to purchase. I just have to get back to walking again... right now I"m so bad I cannot even walk. but I sit here marveling over the fact that I can watch Television from across the room through an m40 scope.
  6. assembled rear cap 2 screws window and disassembled front cap can then be removed unit in stripped disassembly retaining plate (holds wheels in place item can fall out when you take off the case removal of retaining plate replacement of retaining plate
  7. 40 squad reporting in. hehe... that was cool... birthdays are fun best wishes paul.
  8. that is the MGC version. would make for an excellent ROTJ blaster. I personally would go with a completely deact sterling rebuild. (I'm almost there@!) now that I have the proper real greeblies I'll put them on my parts kit that's coming from IMA. and I'm going to troop with it. having a real replica and then not trooping with it would be like having a gold tuxedo and then not getting married in it? why have it if all you're gonna do is look at it?
  9. come back to the staff soon!
  10. that suggestion is not correct because switch screws are usually rounded across their face. I use 6/32 brass screws with nuts and washers. flat top countersunk brass with a flat face. purchase 1" screws. for the extra length helps to attach your chin strap. trim after assembly and gluing flush to nut and washer.
  11. black jodphur riding boots with the correct look are all you need.
  12. hey paul... are you worried about my skills with a tape measure? or are you just complaining about the accuracy of a screen cast kit?
  13. I believe that anyone can conform to any CRL and be awarded such.
  14. usually there is a shim strip and velcro behind that. screen used. or you can always use white gaffers tape. or just leave them open. all were used on sets on film.
  15. great suggestion terry about the belt... I noticed that as well, but you mentioned it for us all!
  16. nice build. are the drop boxes straps white or black? they look like they might be black instead of white? looks like your butt plate and kidney are not separate? aside from that your side strap from chest to back plate should not be visible. (yet as you said they are thinner.) if drop box straps are white... if your plates are separate then I'd say you're good to go! my 2 credits!
  17. if I ship it stripped and it has no real inner barrell but a part that looks like one. it will just be a bunch of tubes and springs and a bag of electronics. I can even ship it with an orange tip no problem. also can have a flag inserted in the tip like a paintball gun.
  18. I plan almost complete aluminum e-11's. I just need to get the original sterling parts to make exact copies of the folding stock. it's the spring, the end cap and swivels in the shoulder cap that will need to be machined. my copies will have some brass, and gunmetal cold casting involved. some metalized resin parts. could be polished to a sheen. I"m working on getting tubes CNC machined with a milling bit, not plasma. the work is going slow. but with my recent getting the hardest parts to replicate now I can work on taking this hengstler and scope apart carefully, and enjoy the prospect of adding a led light to the inside of my scope. I have a very small led light system that I'll use to light up the inside of my glass lensed scopes.
  19. I've been a pens fan for a long time. 70's. early 70's. back when APPS was the name to watch.
  20. General you get that rank when you give him 50$ and you become a "supporter"
  21. it's derived from your post count. the more posts the higher the rank. if you're a member of the 501 then it just says 'member' or if you're EIB then you get 'expert infantry'
  22. I just make everything easy by making my hengstler removable. one way ESB, the other ANH. simple logical, perfect. (( that still does not mean that I'm not going to make an ESB blaster )) next up, ROTJ blaster and real folding stock. personally I don't like the hasbro toy at all. it's not even funny to think that those are plastic toys.
  23. the hengstler is model 400 I'm a penguins fan too... congrats to montreal. they earned it. 4 out of 12 shots scored? The upgrades for system 400 have changed the way the counter looks. the model you receive will look close, but it will have changes on the top of the case, and the eagle logo will be missing. the numbers area is also changed, with white wheels on the first few digits on the right.
