AP vs TM differences
TK bondservnt replied to TK bondservnt's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
I purchased a helmet in 2009 and a helmet in 2010. I'll post 'natural lighting' photos with no flash for a color comparison. I have some troopermaster hand plates ESB style from 2009 that I can also show for a color comparison. the color on 2010 AP armor helmets is really good! -
yes... tight is the way to go! I wear gloves inside my gloves to keep the sweating down. but in your climate it might not be needed?

E-11 Blaster Holster
TK bondservnt replied to JohanStahl's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
the main reason I offer the blaster strap UN RIVETED is because people build their own blasters. a holster has to fit tightly across the handle strap to work best. I leave the final finishing of the blaster handle strap so that you can get a perfect custom fit, no matter what kind of E-11 you're building up the holster for. Please give me a Personal Message and we can discuss, and trade photos and measurements back and forth. my holsters fit the HASBRO and HYPERFIRM, as well as other custom e-11's out there... hope this helps... -
AP AHN Hero helmet build[*AP]
TK bondservnt replied to DarkTrooper's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
AP kits should be drilled exactly on the holes for a low brow effect. to raise the brow simply create a vertical slot for the first drill point at the tip of the cheek. and slide the cheeks down 3/8" and rotate the faceplate forward just a little. I like AP kits... the ears fit almost perfectly. I've built one in a single day! if anyone needed to "make adjustments" it's because they usually trim the ears wrong, and drill the holes in the wrong places. -

AP vs TM differences
TK bondservnt replied to TK bondservnt's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
the AP has a twist on the AB plate, and it is a little bulbous on the left. great comparison shots... exactly what people need to decide on their body fit! -

Rick330's dual TrooperMaster TM build[*TM]
TK bondservnt replied to Rich330's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
ah... dual EIB... nice. -
the photo was pointed out to be a fabric or soft material by user- ABS80. so the information about that armor, and that photo was actually stated as fabric/cloth/vynal by mark. the actual movie used armor most likely was ABS. but when I look at the edge of the strap, and mark sure made a point out of it for me, so I pass that along. it might be a "replacement strap" but it's riveted to the armor. I think it's a "stunt" version of the armor with a cheaper strap. the ABS was more likely a closeup version? that strap looks like a soft material. the other photo of it from the other angle is also suggestive of a soft material. it's clearly fraying.

my AP shoulder straps
TK bondservnt replied to TK bondservnt's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
you just attach each shoulder bell to the other with a strap long across the back of your neck. I use leather. then I attach that long "belt" to the shoulder straps across the underside. keeps them close. the angle of the bicep armor attachment at the "thumb print" is torqued a little forward to keep them rolled towards the front a little. this forward mounting to the shoulder strap, the attachment across the shoulders, and the twisting motion applied by the way the biceps are attached keeps the bells in better position. -
I know every newbie has asked but...
TK bondservnt replied to TKME's topic in Getting Started - Read this First!
go AP... you won't be worried about it. just fill the gap with ABS. -
if the site was indexed again and the listings preened it would be a great help. I could look into indexing and going over the results. I'm interested in helping out if I can.

didn't the search terms work differently in the past? were there changes to reduce redundant results?

he's in england... and the parts look pretty close! looks like the other stuff in his listing is junk from where he works? (just guessing!)

interesting side topics and thread hijacks! stonehenge! "bloody hell, this is a stage set... how are we supposed to use that?" and for the longest joke thread hijack in history! O-o-o-o-o-o-oh-h-h-h....! Artist: Ray Stevens Song title: I'm My Own Grandpaw Lyric: I was married to a widow, who was pretty as can be. This widow, had a grown-up daughter, Who had hair of red. My father fell in love with her and soon they too were wed. This made my dad my son-in-law, And really changed my life. Now my daughter was my mother, Cause she was my father's wife. And to complicate the matter, Even though it brought me joy, I soon became the father of a bouncing baby boy. My little baby then became a brother-in-law to dad, And so became my uncle, though it made me very sad. For, if-if he were my uncle, then that also made him brother. Of the widow's grown up daughter, who was of course, my stepmother. Uh huh. Father's wife then had a son who kept them on the run, And he became my grandchild, for he was my daughter's son. My wife is now my mother's mother, and it makes me blue. Because although she is my wife, she's my grandmother too. God. Now, if my wife is my grandmother, I am her grandchild, yeah. And every time I think of it, heh! Nearly drives me wild. Cause now I have become, the strangest case you ever saw, As husband of my grandmother, I am my own grandpaw. Oh I'm my own grandpaw. I'm my own grandpaw. It sounds funny I know, but it really is so, Oh I'm my own grandpaw. I'm my own grandpaw. I'm my own grandpaw. Talk about incest! It sounds funny I know, but it really is so, I'm my own grandpaw. I love ray stevens. I think I want lifts too...

thanks mark.. I have the thread by looking up the member, and finding his posts. the search on this site still does not work. I tried "No results found for 'riveting neckseal how to'."
-
it has nothing to do with my browser. it's the search feature that's not working. yeah... I guess I could google search... but that's just not why I posted here. it's not my browser... I have tried EVERY browser available.
-
ok people... I've been trying to get the search feature to work. I use many different terms and NOTHING. no results returned. I remember when the search feature was the most important part of finding details around here? what happened?

keep it in a sealed glass container, if it evaporates just add more liquid. cool dry place is best. -
