  1. Success! For about 3 presses of the button, then the - came off, but that's cause I burned my finger on the bare copper as I tried to put it in place lol. But it did work, it sounded great, it was loud enough, and I love this setup. Tinned thanks to a 45 watt iron: And soldered thanks to the fine folks here:
  2. So fast! Looks pretty good, and you can always come back to it later for touch-ups
  3. I saw your new pieces, lookin good. We all appreciate you making these a reality btw!
  4. Wow... Bookmarked! 😎 You guys rock the house down, we all really appreciate your efforts ðŸ‘
  5. Wow very cool
  6. Yeah, rotj space trooper? It looks like lava to me, maybe with ocean around it making steam. Love the soccer shin guards, btw
  7. Resin is stiffer but lighter than the ABS-like plastic used for electronic toys, so it will crack instead of scuffing or bending and turning white like we've all experienced at some point in life. They're not made of glass, but people buy hyperfirms for a reason. I'm gonna be careful with whom I let hold which blasters once I'm trooping. Repairs can be done to lighter damage using filler and replacement parts if necessary. Ideally nobody gets their stuff broken but it's probably safe to assume it will happen (Murphy's law applies to war-time happenings, after all). Once you learn to build it, you'll automatically know how to repair it😎
  8. lol yeah but it takes it one more step from legitimate killing machine towards inspirer of children's happiness 😅 I love guns from an engineering standpoint, don't get me wrong. But each deac served its time in reality and deserves nothing less than to be reborn into a "killer" prop 😎👠Just sayin. Can't wait to see more! I've been wondering just how far each piece can be disassembled so I'm appreciative of your initiative, 96
  9. lol I think I have that in my kitchen but I never saw the repurpose potential. Good eyeðŸ‘
  10. Thanks Rus, it didn't look like you ever got a clear answer in your thread 😅 Good to know straight from the horse's mouth. Got the kidney and butt plate trimmed to about 1/8" from the lines except for the kidney top edge. The crl shows a substantial return edge on the butt, but I thought I read to just round off the edge that is present in ATA so I need to check: slowly gaining momentum... 😎
  11. Sounds way better than a ptt. Great idea, then you could just say "pshh" to get it to play the chatter too
  12. lol I'm still here! Going thru an extended interview process at a dream job, so that's been my top priority. Then there's my Disney and my doopy builds and my voice changer wip etc. not to mention school and other "real" happenings.. 💩 I was scoring and snapping cover strips, so I can glue my arms once I sand them with some washable foam sanding blocks (not sure if I like them better than paper). How does one tell which way is up on the kidney plate? Or is it symmetrical/up to us like the shoulder bells?
  13. Word 😎👠How dry was the bolt when you erased it?
  14. They're up on ShapeWays. Nice little pieces that add a lot of missing deets😎
  15. lol yeah, thank Vern 😉 we woulda had some issues!
  16. Helmet looks nice. Did you mean OT or New Order?😎 I'd personally try to hand-paint an OT with TrooperBay sticky templates, but I'd also assume the Dave M decals would more or less fit based on their claim of retaining the artifacts we're so familiar with (if tears n traps aren't artifacts then..)
  17. Exciting business indeed! The whole community's watching 😎
  18. Looks like they're both small eyelets, with a raised lip around the front's: Hope that helps!😎
  19. Talk about inspiration/motivation to finish. Congrats on your new status!
  20. "Tall troopers in the back" 😎 now it's a contest lol. I'm 6'4" and I'll shim any gaps as I come to them, but my unassembled ATA parts fit me better length-wise than I expected, it that's any indication. Idk why but that calmed my worries about Ano's
  21. Congrats, it's a beauty. Take your time and have fun😎. Armor on the way too?
  22. Yup, even the airsoft has a functional replication. Pretty cool detail, does yours actually hold your magazine in via the dimple?
  23. You'd only need the switch to click if it were connected to something, which would make for a very cool aux placement for a firing-at-the-hip grip on the magazine like the TK inside the Falcon (for righties only lol). The eyelets do look good for the bigger rivets (or whatever they really are, I'm too scared to degrease and disassemble mine) Externally it's a great match
  24. Trigger looks sturdy! I wonder which last longer for this application, compression or torsion springs? Can't wait to see more, sounds like you'll be busy 😎
  25. This count as a cheap-o iron? https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00Z81A4Y8/ref=ox_sc_act_image_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=AMH4W1K8OCGMX Seems better than the 25w I've been using which gets too hot too quickly. I also got some 1/16" 60/40 solder with rosin core, so I should be set. Forgot to mention the wire I'm using is a 1/8-to-1/4 adapter so it might have some guitar cable elements inside
