  1. Haven't been on here in a while. This has been done for quite some time. Thought I would post picture of finished product.
  2. is it normal for the ears to be asymmetrical in their alignment on the helmet? please say yes. otherwise...I don't want to think about it.
  3. Thanks Steve. I will post more pics. I primed the inside last night to prepare it for plasti dip. I taped the crap out of it but somehow got a small amount of overspray on the top of the cap. will mineral spirits work to get that out?
  4. I had to step back and take a break from it to be honest. Got other things on my mind and don't need to try working on it without a clear head. Going to take the Mrs. to Disneyland this weekend and unwind. Speaking of which, does anyone know where the armor the troops at Disneyland wear comes from?
  5. good, its put together now. not super thrilled the way it went together, but it will be alright. I will post pictures tonight of how it looks. gonna start working on the ears tonight.
  6. Here is what I got done in the first 24 hours. Still need to finish the teeth and clean everything up. But overall I am happy with how it's coming along.
  7. Later when I have the funds, and permission from the wife.
  8. Well today my medium brown box showed up on the door step. I can't wait to get off work and start on the eyes and mouth tonight.
  9. Here's one to think about. I never really noticed until I started researching armor. How are Han and Luke able to wear trooper armor over there clothes they arrive at the Death Star in? Ok maybe the armor over there clothes, but what about the TK boots over their own boots. Not possible right? I would say this is a big plot hole that not a lot of people thought about. But it's there.
  10. I understand we don't discuss prices on here so I am not sure if I should say what MTK quoted as the price for his armor, but I also got an email quote from AM and AM is cheaper than MTK. I am 5'10' and weigh about 190-195 with about a 36" waist. I am not a big guy, but I am also not small. I just want to get the ball rolling on purchasing armor while I still have the wife convinced it's a good idea.
  11. I am leaning towards buying and building an MTK helmet and then getting the AM armor. I like the MTK helmet based on the videos of Mike building them, and the AM armor is more in my price range, plus I want to make sure I have room to move in the armor as well. Will this combo work?
  12. I ask this question because I also like to homebrew, and I have a pretty kick an impolite person system for brewing beer on, but ever since I started researching armor and building a TK someday I have kind of put it on the back burner. I am at the point now where it doesn't have to be expensive because I have all the equipment I need. It is similar to building armor it sounds like, you are never really ever done with building a brewing system, just like you are never really done building armor.
