Armor party (questions & interest check)
charlesnarles replied to charlesnarles's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Ah I keep waiting for FB to get phased out. Good idea, I'll check it out 😋 -
Shoulder Pauldron
charlesnarles replied to ArmyDocTrooper18's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
To me, it seems like more of a canon vs non-canon issue rather than a lack of ideas for their use. Lucasfilm officially paved over the Dark Forces series with Rebel One, and we try to play by their rules for canon events. A heavy weapons trooper with light weathering, black pauldron and backpack wouldn't stand out IMO, but red or other non-canon colors can be more jarring, especially without a big gun and backpack. I will note that LFL likes to create restrictions only to officially break them later, like rejecting KOTOR's wookiee Jedi character and then putting one in TCW show. -
Hey all, I got my ATA bbb about a month ago but haven't made much progress recently. I'd love to host a little build party to meet some local fellows, but I'm pretty unclear about how to organize one on my garrison's site without having the ability to post. Anyone able to shed light on this? I'm in the SoCal garrison, shoot me a pm if you'd be down/free this weekend (July 10 or 11)... Edit: OOPS this weekend is SDCC! Another time!

Probably way too short to use on a Disney, they fit a 1:1 stock. It looks decent in pics without size references, but it's a tiny dart gun

Found a wooden one in an older post, but it's just what I meant: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/9477-preferred-e-11-blaster/page-2

Happy 4th, everyone 😎 My E11 collection is growing all the time, so I want a screen- (and/or Dark Forces vg series) accurate rack to hold them vertically. It would have to be sturdy enough for an airsoft/deac but gentle enough for a full-resin. There are some blurry screen caps from the hangar control room scenes, but none are very clear. Good thing ANH is in my PS4. My brain says to watch the shield generator scene of ROTJ and I need to play the first level of Jedi Outcast for references. Anyone know of a nice picture or a prop replica of one of these bad boys? Google didn't help much. Drive safely, yall! Time for fireworks

EFX Helmet ? RUBIES Helmet?
charlesnarles replied to Sd-Stormtrooper's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
It's true; eFX seems like a good option but once your brain familiarizes itself with an asymmetrical screen-accurate faceplate you'll wish you had gone the fan-made route. I'm glad I have my eFX stunt for displaying (changing into a sanitized hero) but especially if you want to troop you should probably get a DIY kit from a vender here instead. Plus, then it's your own creation! -
Cool, cool, cool. Excellent hardware choices, I'm gonna try those tiny rotary switches. How much does the whole thing weigh?

Was just able to get one, wahoo! Dat shipping kills, tho 😧

Maybe they could have pulled the undersuit over their clothes since Han's are fairly form-fitting and Luke wears loose thin rags. I think we need to get someone to test this theory to find out for certain lol. Why doesn't Obi-Wan want a suit, I always wondered. I know he's basically on a suicide mission, but he could have strolled over to the tractor beam generators instead of sneaking... Maybe HIS clothes wouldn't fit😅 Or Chewie could have a Marry Poppins-style messenger bag

TwnBrother is putting an analog counter wheel in his doopy counter, it works and looks great: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/31855-new-doopydoos-e11-with-t-jays-finishing-kit/page-2#entry411847 His linked Amazon page also showed a digital display with a self-contained long-lasting battery to power the LCD. It even counts "dry" (tho not sure exactly how to connect it yet) and it has the right dimensions (1.9" x 0.9" x 2"). Thought it might be cool to have a middle ground between screen-used and the bar graph idea. Only $8 and looks the part. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009NC9M0U?redirect=true&ref_=ya_st_dp_summary

Anovos TK armor preorder
charlesnarles replied to bearings's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Nice to see something, at least. Sure looks like my ATA kidney piece😉 I really hope they can give us boots and a blaster too -
That's... true, but imagine the backlash for not including Vader! The time period must slide around 3-4 ABY depending on which characters are involved? Lol I just want to know the context of the battles I fight. Maybe they've thought about it more than we have and they came up with some explanation regarding the exact year. I really wouldn't call it lazy, since they're doing a good job with the meshes and could work out more textures later on. The Jakku video answered a lot of questions I had (in a good way)

I'll admit Luke's outfit was a little jarring against snow, considering ROTJ's relatively saturated locales. It makes sense to go "full-Jedi" from a continuity perspective if they're showing us what happens between ep 6 and 7. Not quite the same situation as the ps2 games spanning the whole OT
