  1. lmfao!!!! my goal is to have it ready for pics at the end of the month. I still have quite a bit of stuff to work on lol. TIME!!!!!!!!! horrible. I went to bed at 3 am yesterday; its the only time i have to work on it.
  2. I finished up my left thigh. Just as the right, i have a 20 mm strip in the front for accuracy and a 40 mm strip in the back to fit. I then touched up both and this is the final thighs... I have to work on the ammo pack for the right thigh. I will do that this week. I also completed my TD.
  3. Thanks for giving away the movie lmfao But yes, they are not clones; every trooper is unique in TFA.
  4. lmfao... i will echo Jason here. These things take a lot of time and a lot of work. Distractions kill!!!!!! lol.
  5. Looks like a Rubies. The bucket (helmet) is a form of a Hero Bucket, but it isnt even close to accurate: you will have to scrap that. The armor itself would need major modification, however the armor is set up for ANH but has ESB hand guards. So you will need to decide from which movie you would like to build. and then either touch up the armor or buy new hand guards. You may also want to consider how you actually fit into it. If you have to completely take it apart to fit it to you, it may be better of starting from scratch with a new approved armor. anyway, how much is he offering for it? its has pros and cons to everything.
  6. Brian, make sure you cut out a little more on the teeth.
  7. Ok so last night I installed the 2 inch elastic straps connecting my biceps to my forearms. I simply cut about 6 inch long straps and glued them in place with Zap a Gap with about a 1.75 inch gap in between to allow movement. I know they seem far apart but i want to make sure they fall comfortably and in the right place. Anyway, i have an issue/question for you guys: When I bend my arms to grab my blaster or just in movement, the straps seem to bend upward and looks awkward on top of the armor. Now it doesn't always happen, but its just one of those little things that annoy me. So basically I'm wondering if i should shorten the strap or just do away with it altogether. I know the strap is screen accurate and hold it in place, but i have also seen people leave it free floating and just put padding in the inside to keep them in place in the forearms. What should i do? Am i stressing for nothing? I'm most likely going to put some padding inside the forearms anyway to fit more snug, but i was curious what everyone's opinion was about this issue? Please let me know.
  8. Honestly if you pinch that section and rivet it you should be fine. However, i would lower the brow a bit and that would drastically help with that alignment. If you still like some gap between the brow and eyes then you angle it upwards, however lower the ears more. It will make everything fall better.
  9. as far as should forearms go, if you put foam inside them it should definitely help. That way it fits a lot snugger.
  10. lmfao!!! I'm trying. My goal is to try and finish by the end of the month. Unfortunately the only time i get to work on the armor is when my daughter goes to bed for the night lol...
  11. congratulations! Your armor looks amazing...you really did a great job! enjoy trooping...
  12. I bought the sew in snaps to complete my shoulders. Then marked where I wanted to put the snap on the shoulder strap. In white string, naturally, i went ahead and sewed it in place. Then I cut out 1 inch black elastic to sew in the other side of the snap. After everything was sewed in, i cut out 12 inch elastic for the bicep strap on the shoulder bell. Now that everything was cut, with Zap a Gap I went ahead and glued it all into place on the shoulder bell. I left about 3/4 inch gap from the bell to the snap. Once everything was glued and ready. I took some selfies to see my progress. Not only see how it fits, but just admire my work lmfao Ok, i was happy now. I started prepping for the left thigh then. I measured and cut the front of the armor to have 20mm in the front and 40mm in the back. (just like i did with the right thigh)
  13. thanks Jason. I thought of that, but to be honest thats a lot of work that i do not have time for right now lol. Maybe when i start touching up the armor and making adjustments later. Right now I'm trying to get my armor done! Don't get me wrong, i'm still trying to be meticulous and make it comfortable. But finding time to get everything done is tough.
  14. Last night during the Star Wars premiere, i was home working on my right thigh lol. I'm going to watch TFA on Sunday with my wife (being a daddy makes timing difficult!, if not we would have been there opening night!!!!!!!) anyway i digress lol. So I already had previously trimmed the thighs, so it was about getting them together. I cut the front 20 mm strip and attached it. The front strip was standard size so it was good to go, the hard part was then trying to figure out how wide the strip for the back had to be. After much back and forth (and lots of masking tape) I ended at this. So basically I ended up doubling the front strip and making the back 40 mm. Using good old Zap a gap (in spite of getting my fingers glued a couple times) I attached the back. As you can see, the strip sizes are quite noticeably different sizes; but just like the biceps, has to be done in order to fit. So basically, my right thigh is done. Just need some sanding.
  15. i love honest trailers... me and my wife have sat for hours just randomly watching these lmfao
  16. I actually got some work done this weekend!!! One of my boys came over and while he worked on touching up his armor up (TK 10314) to get some more mobility, I worked on mine. So one of the things i wanted to fix/correct are my arms before i even tackled the legs. I cut out some areas in the forearms and then i tackled the biceps (again) Now that i bought zap a gap i could make the changes quicker. I left the outside of the biceps at the 16 mm where i had them, and then i decided to cut out 30 mm for the inside of the biceps. My arms are not that small so i had to make them like that to get them to fit and have some movement. Below you can see both sides, the outside(left)/outside(right) of the biceps. you can clearly see the difference, but either way you can't tell once you have the armor on. I also cut the shoulder straps properly, glued them onto my chest piece, and then created the 2 inch white strap connecting the chest to the back. I used the snap method, the males are on the armor and the females are on the strap. (Sorry I did not take a good picture of the strap) then took some progress pictures to gauge how the armor is fitting. Blue tape with shoulder bells (just to get an idea of how it looks) Up next i will actually do the straps for the shoulder bells to the armor. And yes, we had a great movie on in the background lmfao...
  17. forearms allow for the most learning curve... start there for sure!
  18. Good Job! Looks great. We need an action shot here lol...
  19. i dont think you will have an issue if you go AM. 100% that will fit your frame.
  20. What is your body type? It will help for everyone to give their advice. Height, Weight, Build...
