  1. As long as your local squad is in the loop you should have no problem trooping even if your submission has not been approved yet. Talk to your garrison group about when you want to troop and have it ready for then.
  2. i was thinking the same thing!!! can everyone please remove that protective layer lol.
  3. see the attached video. TK1636 goes over how to create a perfectly accurate bicep clip. Most of us just curve a strip at the tip to make the hook; but this video is the screen accurate way.
  4. try to add just a touch more gray on the frown to get it as close to the external "mouth" lines as possible for the top. the bottom looks flush..
  5. I will await for the response from an expert here as well. I'm curious. I think it will still hold for centurion standards, since the cut separation is hidden under the belt. But wait for confirmation.
  6. I assumed that is what he was going for. But yes, definitely needs the strip on the outside.
  7. Please provide me access. TK 11802. http://www.501st.com/members/displaymemberdetails.php?userID=20711 I keep trying to find where i add my 501st ID. It does not show up in the edit profile page.
  8. Movement will usually be very limited. It all depends on your cuts and position of parts. Most TK's cannot really bend. Especially once you have the ab plate on. Just build it first and then worry about modifying your movement after.
  9. I'm going to piggy back off Airborne's comments above. I agree with everything he said; like he said fortunately he had the AM for the thighs which allowed him to cut strips to the correct size. If you have a full armor of ATA like me, then for those of us that are not stick figures then we need bigger strips. Just make sure if you need bigger sizes for strips then you put them in the back/inside of the armor pieces so from the front view you cannot tell. You may want to look at my build for references. From the front you view, all my strips are screen accurate (i.e 15mm for biceps, 20 mm thighs) However, so the fit properly, on the inside of my biceps the strip is 30mm and for the thighs i had to go to 40 mm. As long as you make left/right the same size you should be good to go. Just make sure you apply everything clean and you cannot tell and will not affect your centurion standards (if you are going that route) Good Luck. keep us posted.
  10. lmfao... there are A LOT of options to go for an E-11 blaster. As many have mentioned there are many factors that go into each person to determine what is "best" (price / weight / electronics / accuracy / type of build, etc...) I personally have a hasbro conversion, problem is that it cannot be approved for centurion. Many troopers love the Hyperfirm blasters since they are lightweight and are centurion standard Or you can do the full DoopyDoo kit made of resin. Completely up to you buddy.
  11. The inside of armors are always based upon the wants/needs of the wearer. Most people only put padding on needed areas, however, its completely up to you.
  12. Looks great. Start on the forearms first, its the part that is the most forgiving. Allows for a lot of wiggle room and no return edges, so it helps to get the ball rolling and learning.
  13. I'm going to ditto what scotty said. Any other gap can be fixed by making the belt nice and tight when putting on the armor. (suck it in lol)
  14. They look right. You can tell the shins just by the naturally curve fit on your leg and calves; but either way the long sides on the bottom are clear distinctions of the outside of the legs.
  15. Ok, I submitted to the GML for approval. I shouldn't have any issues. Once I get my TK approval, I will touch up the sniper plate (and anything they may need me to lol) to submit for EIB status. Naturally, I did many poses to see what I liked for my Display Pic lmfao!!!
  16. A couple touch ups i did before the first troop this weekend. I trimmed a bit extra on the sniper plate so its not too fat. I also put a little strip of velcro (fuzzy side) on the bottom of the shins to not scratch the boots. Then go to the trooping event. It was a wedding, so we do not have official troop pics. The CO is going to reach out to the bride of some pics to have of the event. What I did do is take some basic approval pics before the event: A biker scout helped suit me up, so there are a couple of positioning issues that needed to be addressed once I finally saw the pics lol. - My left bicep needed to be rotated so that it fits proper and that the shoulder bell aligned properly as well. - My belt was on too tight so it created a bit of overlap on the sides and pulled the back down. - I also noticed that i will have to put some padding behind the sniper plate to make sure it sticks out and does not fall under my thighs. These are perfect for basic approval to get my TK number. When I do my official EIB application I will touch up and make sure my armor is correct for the pictures lol. I will have another TK review as I take the picture lmfao. Some random pics of the night. As i mentioned, once we get pics of the actual event I'll post those. Photobooth pic!
  17. Use this video from TK1636 for doing the shins. If you add some abs strips behind the plate it definitely helps. thats what i did.
  18. Remember, the screws are painted white after.
  19. Oh i forgot to mention. I'm thinking of adding some padding inside forearms, behind the sniper plate, and anywhere else I deem necessary. I also want to put some velcro (furry part) on the bottom of the shins to not scratch the boots.
  20. Terrell from ATA was quick as shucks. 2 days shipping for my new sniper plate, got here last night. (old/new) Since I have a troop on Saturday i got straight to work. Trimmed the sniper and glued on to the left shin. Used a combo of Zap a gap & E6000. Zap a gap for the center and tips of ends to hold everything solid in place, then E6000 in the ends to make it more structurally sound (for gaps) Did not want to make the mistake of cutting too much off lol... Left some just in case I need to trim later. Basically the armor is now completed! Spyder560 asked me a question about my belt/garter system to holding up my thighs. Originally i created my own belt, but honestly it was too stretchy/soft and was not allowing the tight fit I wanted. So I have been using an old leather belt I had at home and used that instead. Works like a charm. Nice and tight fit (while still adjustable) and fits inside the loops I created as well. (I put a light shirt on and tucked it in for visual positioning purposes of the belt) Btw, I don't think I have mentioned it before but I am 5'8'' / 170 lbs. Hope this helps. Saturday I'll take finished picks and post them up. Along with my finished Storage bin.
  21. Yup, definitely did each panel in sections. Makes it much easier to work that way. I thought about E6000, but cure time is a b*tch for these purposes. Hot glue gun is efficient and dries fast enough.
