We aim to please but also to make sure we involve all our members. Discussion of a new ladies section is no secret and we are making good on bringing this full circle with its own section of the FISD forums. Come and help Teresa make this a new friendly and safe home for all our female TK's and make it your own. This new section is opening soon. More competitions, first off will be a design competition (members only), and a chance to leave a mark on the face of the FISD forums, keep your eyes open for that. There is some revamping going to take place and expansion on areas where technology is improving and times changing. We look forward to adding a section for 3D resin printers, these are becoming very popular with brilliant results and we want those with experience to share their knowledge, files and services right here on FISD. The replica section is also undertaking a minor tweak to include First Order TK's. If you are OCD and love those fine details and magic finds, you will have a place to post your intimate armour details inside and out. It amazes me we still find hidden gems on OT bits and pieces so I look forward to more with the newer generation stuff. Who wants merch!!, we are already working up ideas for this years items, so keep an eye on the forums for interest threads, competitions and more. More CRL work to come, not only are we looking to add more goodies to current CRL's but the entire legion is preparing to move to an updated CRL Platform. This will be a monumental task for every detachment and needs to be totally complete by October when the old platform will no longer be supported by the vendor. The hopes are for new look CRL's with added features to possibly make it easier to create and use all CRL's. New functionality is also on the agenda. The mystery stuff: Are you preparing for the 1500! more to come on that in the future. More staff to continue to expand in every direction we can. I will be looking to add additional staff with skill sets for particular areas we wish to grow, watch this space for updates and plan initiatives where you could make a difference and support your fellow members. More to come but hopefully this whets your appetite for the moment. We are in for a great year on all our platforms! With unquestioned loyalty Andrew Franke TK-11469 (Sly11)

  2. Now the new term is upon us I will work to bring this full circle. DL announcement for the new term will be posted later today with an overview of the plan for this term. I am excited to make this a reality and we have some lovely staff ready to be engaged and assist in growing or female presence on the forums.
  3. Thank you all
  4. I think the rear sight should be fine until we look at these again in the near future and determine what variations and options can be added to the CRL. I believe the DO's are only mentioning it and it is not a requirement currently. I will also point out that it looks like we have another shared template across the TFA and TLJ CRL's as the end cap information was correct and is now reflecting the TLJ which is different. Also to note the Centurion requirement for the working light on the SE-44C side arm has disappeared. Shared templates served their purpose when the CRL's were first created but because we are improve them, now they have become problematic. This is something I need to amend by creating a separate template in both CRL's so it can never happen again on any future amendments to either of those CRL's. We only discovered this one yesterday so I will get it remedied as soon as possible. Apologies if this has caused any confusion to both the DO's and members alike.
  5. Novus polish is excellent and specifically designed for polishing plastics. You can buy it in a 3 pack which is Novus 1,2 and 3. ! being a spray for quick polish or final polish, 2 for light scratches and 3 for heavy scratches. I use Novus for all black marks and scratch repairs. As far as repairs on the job, i always carry tubes of CA glue and spare small pieces of ABS and HIPS. These can be used behind your armour where you find a crack. Good to stop it from spreading specially on return edges.
  6. Definitely get onto IMGUR as has been suggested. Unfortunately with the volume of members we have, and the fact we share a server with legion, we just don't have enough storage capacity to direct store many images. Once you are set up, if you want your storage space cleared if it is full, just shoot me a PM and i can clear it for you as it is a back end function. Great work on that back pack Eric, looking very nice.
  7. Yeah, I got no hope of ever sitting down either lol
  8. Yes it's only a slight indent, part clean up, part possibly thicker material and different type compared to the original stunts as the Heroes were pulled in ABS. I think an easy mod Chris has mentioned he is looking at.
  9. This is a cast from an original Hero TK that was on display at celebration Orlando. The left side or right as you look at it definitely has the 4th tooth indent. You can also just make it out in the following 2 images of original hero helmets.
  10. Welcome aboard Bill, sounds like you have a great plan and we can certainly help you with your build and the finer accuracy details of Solo's hero armour.
  11. Welcome to FISD Vanessa, hope you have checked out our First Order Battle group section as we have plenty of stuff there for Phasma and more to come. https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/218-first-order-battle-group/
  12. Welcome to FISD Pedro!
  13. Great to see you finally in your kit Alan, looking forward to your application photos and inevitable approval
  14. Love the photos Ardeshir, no bad path here, only the fact that we asked for your patience sir. There is a lot going on in the background for election preparation which currently is a priority over CRL work. We have a process that allows our members to participate in the shaping of our CRL's, why should that be circumvented?, how is it a bad path for our members to be involved?
  15. I have now completed our Membership Database update. It is now up to legion to do the sync before the election cycle begins.
  16. Exciting time ahead Zaan, looking forward to your build
  17. Welcome Joseph First if you are approved 501st please go and request 501st level access, this gives you visibility to a few more areas. You may also need to be approved 501st to obtain some items. Printing a full set of hard armour is a monumental task, not just in print time but level of cleanup prep and painting etc, I don't envy you on what will be an epic build. You are correct, there isn't a great number of full armour files available that are accurate, one of the most accurate sadly is no longer available for purchase as the designer decided to stop supply only just recently. You are in the right section of the forums to find build threads where some members have indeed started 3 D print builds of FOTk's some have the File supplier details within. As to accurate TLJ, the fore arms were recently updated in the CRL so that may be something one of the modelers may update their files to suit if you ask. The other piece is the Cod plate shape being different to TFA version as well. Obvious beak difference on the helmet and a few of the clip greeblies. We do have some of the smaller greeblies available to obtain here. You need your 501st updated on your side bar to gain access to these. As you are well aware, our hobby always takes research so I wish you well in your new journey. No doubt more of our members will chime in on your post with more information. Welcome to FISD
  18. Congratulations Caleb, I am sure you are as elated as we are to see this come full circle.
  19. Great work Daryl, the ABS paste is magic when you get the formula right, and has been the savior of hundreds over the years with OT armour shims. You finish looks very clean, well done.
  20. Caleb you build is beautiful sir, glad to see this at the tail end finally for you after having setbacks which you overcame along the way. Very please to see you in armour. Almost there brother , almost there
  21. Yes the CRL's are evolving, noone can state they aren't after this last major update to this very CRL. What we do absolutely need to do is follow a process, and there are several reasons why. First there is no agenda, why would there be, and to safe guard against that type of thing from happening, we have not only the open discussions on the forum, but staff discussions and LMO discussion where needed. The other part is the members Polls, this is done again for the same reason, so it is not a one person decision, not mine, not a DO's and not just one member. You cant loose sight of the fact almost every legion member also makes changes to there armour after approval, even basic approval so everyone can do what they want to make their armour more comfortable etc etc. Second, the system is in place to help minimize errors, but also to not present what can very easily look like favoritism towards one member over another. These things have a Butterfly effect, and we do everything possible to remove that, and keep all members comfortable. You presented a case, and it is being worked on, your case is not ignored, it is being handles with the same level of action ans seriousness that all CRL potential updates are given. In fact it is also being expanded upon, but like all balanced and fair systems the process takes time. You know this first hand as the TLJ thread has been running for over 2 years, we had no correct images so we couldn't update until we did. Patience is the key here, this needs to be done in the correct fashion and that is the fair and balanced way to do it for everyone concerned including our current and future members. I have offered up more possibilities in that thread because you are correct, this isn't about a D ring colour, it is about multiple variations and different parts, and if we consider one, we need to consider more, and it deserves the due process of discussion, and outcomes to be put to membership polls. I think its pretty clear that we are invested in continuing to update our CRL's, so your patience and understanding are appreciated.
  22. Nobody is asking you to do anything Ardershir, you are already approved, you were approved as per the CRL originally with the correct match to that CRL. It is up to members what they do with their armour after they meet approval. No one forces anyone to even look after their costumes and keep then looking in mint condition. This was your choice alone to change the end cap colours. There is no additional approval as you are already approved in this costume and don't gain an additional award, because you already have it. You or I cant change what anyone does to their costume post basic or any other level. Yes members change things all the time after approvals, that is legion wide, and we don't police that as we don't own the costume.
