Thanks for the update Dino, this is great news. We will finally be able to make this CRL a reality, so don't forget, i am going to need some very specific photos which we can discuss once you are ready. We shall get the written draft spun up pretty easily with making changes from the TFA CRL. I think the EI and Centurion traits will also translate across well. Exciting times ahead for the detachment

From Joe Fera Thought you all would like this. As we all know, Terrell Reber (owner of ATA) and his wife, Traci, lost their battle with Covid last year, leaving behind a 16 year old son. A year ago this weekend, Terrell started thinking of coming out of retirement when he found out a mutual friend of ours has been hosting immersive Star Wars themed fundraisers since 2015. Sadly, he never got that chance, as he passed a few weeks later. You have come a long way over the last year and looking pretty darn good. Jump on those suggestions the guys have given you and you will in a great position for approval. Not that I can clearly tell from your photos, but if the Cod is troubling you, you can reduce the return edge further to give just a tiny amount more wiggle room. Same can be said for your chest plate as it curves down from the shoulder to under the arm.

Welcome Deymien, the suggestion above is an awesome way to start getting involved, and is in fact how many start their journey to becoming a full 501st member. You can learn a lot form others who are used to handling members in armour specially those with poor visibitiy like many stormtroopers. When Luke states "I cant see a thing in this helmet" he wasn't far from wrong lol. Some costumes are even worse for mobility and of course vision, so we do rely on a good handler, or wrangler as they are also know in some parts.

Wow Logan, finally some photos!! excellent work on your build. I do agree it needs a touch of weathering/scuffs to ebb closer to the screen accuracy side, and those longer drop boxes Glen has mentioned will be a good finishing touch as well. Great Job and the CRL for this will be a reasonably easy write up. Is it possible to have the shins taper a bit more towards the bottom? Currently they look a little tubular,(same width at the top as they are at the bottom) and I'm not sure what room you have to move with trimming the 850 kit to achieve that.

For the price they are selling these for, I would expect better. That chin isn't the correct shape either, needs to come to a sharper point to better match the lower line of the beak. Hopefully the delivered product is better than this image portrays.

No just the reference helmet, and that's why the bidding would be low I'd wager. Still a production made piece I guess, so a nice addition to a collector if the price is right. Time will tell if it gets passed in.

The commander of the First Order's stormtroopers wore distinctive silver-coloured chrome armour, a costume design initially proposed for Kylo Ren. This helmet was used as reference by the art department during production, while creating the final design. The helmet is made of 3D-printed resin with a muted silver chrome-like finish, black acrylic lenses in the eye recesses, and mesh grill detailing. The lot displays intentional distressing to the finish and minor cracks on the underside of the neck. Dimensions: 31 cm x 28.5 cm x 30 cm (12 1/4" x 11 1/4" x 11 3/4")

I concur with others, this is a beautiful replica, and whoever wins this auction is getting a "built with love" piece of FISD history, thanks to the overwhelming generosity of Joseph for his skill and eye for detail, and those who supplied various parts to make this a reality. JDRF is the detachments legacy charity, and a wonderful cause to support.

Thank you for your insight Ardeshir, great to have some good reinforcing information on what we have been able to determine on this CRL upgrade. I can only assume the shoulder tab details was the same as TFA which is why we went that route, but I also can't see why it should matter what material they are made from as long as they are present (ABS or metal) builders discretion like strapping techniques. If you look closely on this screen used TFA asset, you will see that the tabs are actually double layered. Metal underneath for strength with a plastic top to disguise it as white part of the armour. No doubt it also helped to decrease rubbing damage or blackening of the contact area.
