A similar if not the same snap as per Tony's comment are also called "Marine Grade" snaps. These can be found at marine supply stores, they are non corrosive and very sturdy. Think the kind of snaps used to secure tonneau covers .

Mike (MTK) does sell his armour on ebay from time to time or you can deal with him direct. Ive built a couple of MTK kits and they are great. He also runs an online business called "Trooperbay" with a gamut of extras and accessories

Cant say I've ever had issues with fans that had a strong smell and I have used 100's of them over the years in my fan kits. I think if you just let them air on your work bench or desk for a week or so they should be good. Look forward to seeing your build underway.

I would leave reducing the sides until you have done everything else. Kit up and have some full side shots taken and post them up so we can see how it all looks. . Be mindful that the but plate sides should align with the kidney plate.

Hi Mark, first I would remove a lot of the return edge, leave about 4-5mm, this will give the butt plate a little more flex so it wraps around or fits you better. Once you have done that you can work on how much of that extra tab to remove, but I dare say most if not all of it will go. The main reason AM kits have it is to suit larger troopers and you look to be of a close to standard size build so I see no necessity for you needing it.

My patches arrived today, and i just want to say, they are beautiful, I mean, in the flesh, they are absolutely beautiful. Great work Jason for a great design, and to Brien for getting them done in time.
