  1. As Chris ran uncontested for the 2025 election cycle, he will remain as our Detachment leader for another term. Congratulations, Chris, we look forward to seeing what you have planned for the Det in 2025. As always, you have my full support, and that of a great team of staff ready to continue driving FISD on to new heights. Congratulations once again.
  2. Firstly, brilliant image of the IMC captain! Nice Sharp detail. Will be good to have a holster vendor, and have them chime in on our forums with what they can offer. Lastly, keep up the good fight on your weight loss, it's going to be well worth it for you in this kick butt costume. Keep the updates and great work coming.
  3. Nice! You won't need to print the cod and butt plate, so save yourself some time and filament
  4. I believe two people have made firm offers already, and it is being hashed out. Guess we will find out shortly who is going to pick up the mantel.
  5. Congratulations! Lots of hard work, but it has paid off.
  6. Storage and transport: I use a suitcase. Same set up as Chris where you fit pieces inside each other. As to crack repairs, I have used both the fabric backing method, and the ABS piece glued behind method. It really depends on where the crack is to how I make my repairs. Have also made ABS paste to clean up crack lines, specially on the shoulder bridges, after I have backed them with shape ABS for reinforcement. It's a good practice to always keep some of your ABS off cuts from the build process of a TK, as the rigours of trooping are not always kind to your armour.
  7. Those boots are suitable once coloured/painted to white, but as to your modifications, that will definitely fall on your GML as the approver of all 501st costumes for your garrison. Basic level is more lenient, so I highly suggest you discuss this with them first. If the piece to be added is of the same overall shape as that side of the boot and doesn't look like an addition with extra stitching in different locations, then their decision will be easier. For level 2 and 3, that falls under the Detachments' approval process. Without seeing the finished product to make a judgement and due to the tighter regulations for accuracy, it is very difficult for our Deployment officers to make that call.
  8. All good so far. Interesting thing, I use one of Jonatans screen backgrounds. It was there last night when I shut down my PC, this morning it has disappeared lol. Not sure how that can be related though.
  9. Incredible work, I love it.
  10. Exciting news Steve, won't be long now, and you will be an approved TK.
  11. Hope you have the tissues handy, watching The Heart of the Empire. For many, it is the reason why we do what we do. You are joining the biggest family in the world, a network of wonderful people from around the globe. You will make lifelong friends, and you will love every minute of it.
  12. Welcome to FISD Paul. The iconic OT Stormtrooper is one of the most popular costumes in the 501st and a fan favourite. Looking forward to seeing your build thread and approval photos in the near future.
  13. Congratulations Torben and welcome to Expert Infantry rank.!!
  14. Welcome to FISD, looking forward to seeing your progress photos.
  15. Congratulations Victor, and welcome to FISD!
  16. Welcome aboard Alvaro! Cpt Enoch is slowly proving to be a more and more popular costume, which is great to see. As the guys have already stated, definitely check out the work in progress CRL and other build threads here on FISD. This is a costume of great detail, so if ever in doubt, ask plenty of questions. We are looking forward to seeing your progress so please do start a build thread once under way.
  17. Welcome aboard Richard! There are plenty of troopers here to assist you from afar, and the UK Armorers system is also excellent for help closer to home. Either way, you are in the right company with experienced, like-minded people, who want you to succeed in becoming a 501st member and Imperial Stormtrooper. Here at FISD, we have the largest resource for Stormtroopers, or as we call them TK's, in the galaxy, so do spend some time looking around, asking questions and learning what you can.
  18. Welcome to FISD Brandy! Looks like Glen and Chris have you on your way, and I agree it will be awesome to see another Phasma built and approved. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I don’t think it’s a case of anyone being down on those kits as much as the fact, times change and more accurate and better quality kits have become available. History shows, when that kind of thing occurs, older products simply become grandfathered, and general improvements become the norm. Legion and Detachments move with the times, costume accuracy improvement is part of that so requirement standards become higher. There are other clubs that follow simpler guidelines, the 501st is renowned for being the premier costuming club, so staying at the forfront, standards and basic requirements have increased across many costumes over the years.
  20. Needless to say, once Chris and the Web team have finished the transfer off of the Legion server, many of the woes we are suffering will disappear. This new server and associated components are being built to more than suit our needs. Custom baby, custom ?
  21. Congratulations Torsten, now to look at our higher levels as Glen has suggested.
  22. Welcome aboard David! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
