Anything and Everything Star Wars. I have always wanted to build my own armor and join the ranks of the 501st. Now that I have the money I am going through with it and looking forward to my first build. On top of that I am a collector of a great many things from Star Wars memorabilia to dare I say it Star Trek as well. I am good with my hands and all around a very hands on person, which is why I am looking forward to this build. I am sure I will be asking plenty of questions before and as I am building.

  1. Thank you for doing this run!! everything looks good.
  2. Hello all, I have had my TK armor finished for over a year and I am now proud to say that I am ready with my next costume, a Snowtrooper. Just sent it off for approval today. See the attached link to see pics. Now that the finishing touches are being made on this I am also working on a set of TB armor as well. http://s102.photobucket.com/user/Gdbeers12/library/TS%20Approval%20Pics
  3. Goal was May, now not sure. I get started on so many costumes it is hard to keep on track and finish each one. I just finished a TS and nearly finished a TB (wanted to collect all the white armor ) On top of those had a Starlord outfit that I finished as well!!! Hopefully have this one done by years end.
  4. Joe, that was a pretty good looking kit at Maker Faire this past month
  5. Got left in the box for a year because I caught the bug of wanting to troop in all my free time I will be working on this at the same time as 2 other costumes so it will be a slow process. I am gathering parts for a TS build and working on a Starlord costume as well. Now that trooping events have calmed down for the winter I am now getting back into the swing of making armor
  6. Hello all!! Over the past year I have had a TM armor kit (at least I think it is TM) sitting in my basement boxed up waiting to be worked on. I am with the Great Lakes Garrison, which currently as far as I know does not have a TKC. When I first got my armor kit however I made the mistake of getting one without a helmet. Needless to say this is something that I am going to have to track down lol. Once I go through piecing things together I will post pictures regarding paint. I am working on tracking down a Starkiller Saber for approval. Hopefully be done with the build by May is my goal. I am looking forward to another TK costume
  7. I am looking at doing a TKC in the near future with my second armor kit sitting in my basement. Thalizar, have you been happy with your saber and is that one that can get 501st approved ?
  8. Found a few new rides for the Empire
  9. These pictures are fantastic!!! Looks like the booth was great too. Hopefully I can make it out to this next year!!!
  10. Minor fixes are looking good. Don't forget to get/ add a holster to the right side of your belt if you are going for ESB. It is attached by a loop method. Off of the 501st ESB Costume Reference: Holster is worn on right side of belt. Holster will be made of completely black leather or leather-like material and be worn on the right and affixed via two black loops over the belt (no fasteners).
  11. For my first armor build I was attempting to go with true screen accurate standards and died black boots white. After a few troops the boots are starting to wear a little, which still looks screen accurate. However I feel that over time they may get too much of a worn look. Any pointers on maintaining the boots to preserve there life ?
  12. Rockin the RS for both. Have two sets of their armor, one helmet.
  13. For cold weather I still have an under armor suit. I just use the Cold Gear version.
  14. I completely have to agree with Mathias. I have an RS suit built to screen accuracy and it is impossible for me to sit down easily as my butt, kidney and back plates are all connected. This also can make it very hard to bend over. Before trooping I would suggest taking your armor for a test run around the house or even around the neighborhood to learn how well you can see and if you need adjust armor pieces to avoid getting pinched. Most of all have fun. My first troop was at Motor City Comic Con in armor I took pictures with Ernie Hudson next to the Ecto 1 car from Ghostbusters. It was the highlight of my weekend trooping.
