  1. I think it's mostly what your personal aesthetic is - everyone has their own and you should stick to what you feel you like best. For "accurate" there are two types: 1) What is most accurate to what was used in the movies 2) What is most accurate to what an idealized helmet should be AP is more #1 as it can trace it's lineage to screen used buckets at some point. It is asymmetrical and has some things like the eye bump that wouldn't be there in an idealized helmet. RT went down the path of #2. It's symmetrical and doesn't have the same "defects". My $02 - I like the AP best after TE2, and at times as much as TE2 and it's my #1 pick for an ABS lid. Personally I like the details of AP better than RT too, such as the ears. Let the popcorn pop and the opinions flow!
  2. What glue did you use? I used E6000 and it worked great connecting strapping to my HIPS TE2, but seemed to fail miserably when I tried it on my ABS kit.
  3. Good to hear Alain - will be cool to start having Elite Stormtroopers in Canada. Thumbs up on leading the way
  4. Great job Bobby! I see you had the same issue I did with the butt plate flaring and came up with an identical solution. I ended up using just an elastic strap, but it looks like you are using cordura - is yours velcro or did you upgrade to a full buckle solution?
  5. Lookin' great! All the corrections are tiny tweaks in an otherwise excellent job. You guys are starting to make me go over my TK with a finer tooth comb :-p
  6. Yeah, the blaster makes me change out my keyboard every time. It's also a great time to point out that the shots need to be of you're kit on your body so it's explicit that this is your kit and it's how you roll. Nice job
  7. Despite the hype I had low expectations. I've very pleased to find that this is perhaps the best super hero movie of the decade. Can't wait to watch it again on the big screen.
  8. Actually the stunt helmet is also worn during the Tantive IV raid. Don't have the screen cap handy, but I believe it turns up in some other shots as well.
  9. Excellent - it's always easier to start a new kit to Elite than to convert an existing one. If you feel you're ready, simply create a new thread at http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showforum=19 and include detailed pix of the various parts. We're up to 20 Elite now, time to start a new row http://www.whitearmor.net/elite/
  10. All set Ian! Bobby - I updated your status earlier today as soon as I saw your profile updated BTW - of the previous half dozen or so folks almost all of you are new to the 501st. I'd like to congratulate you on achieving that milestone. That said, we do have this nifty detachment Elite program, and I'd encourage you to consider going after that brass ring as your time allows. Welcome guys!
  11. Set guys. David - we should be expecting an Elite application from you soon. You'd be the first Elite from the Nordic Garrison
  12. Access updated. Phil - you really need to give your GWL a kick in the junk - 12 months and no photo on your 501st profile?
  13. To be honest I think it's more common that not. I'm using RT shins with my TE2 armor. My garrison mate swapped out his FX chest/back with RT, and is using older FX thighs. Others I know have replaced parts here and there as needed. It's much better getting parts that fit your body than trying to get a straight kit that doesn't quite do everywhere. For dilemma #2 I used to have the same problem, but got the shirts from TK4205 (on this board) with the neck seal integrated into the shirt and that was that.
  14. Better than my first effort, for sure. I agree, upping to Elite would tweak it out nicely, but you should be really happy with how it's fitting now. Thumbs up, and a pint!
  15. To be honest, I really doubt the accuracy of this statement anymore, especially if we consider those who's primary costume is a TK, rather then the guys who take it out once a year for signature events. Not good to hear I still don't get the game, but that lady contestant was very YUMMY Elyse McCrillis is my new imzadi. Gonna need a beer to out this fire
  16. Yup - I'm 30 pounds lighter but don't look any skinnier than you. Great job boss! Can't wait to get official word from Scott
  17. Looking great! I only saw some small nits, but nothing that would prevent 501st or Elite status really. 1) You may want to adjust the plastic shoulder straps more to the front. 2) I'd suggest tapering the thighs down near the knees - this is always trouble with the FX 3) Are the ab plate buttons the correct size? Hard to tell in laptop mode. The split butt plate came out well, though it can probably be tightened up just a little in the small area, if you take my meaning. Again, small nits & nothing that won't get dialed in over time.
  18. Billy & John - all set. Thanks for the support guys!
  19. A very interesting read about SFP: http://www.clone-empire.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=820
  20. It's easy - just throw out your morals. Recast someone's hard work (unlike TKs there's no screen used clone suits, so each one is 100% hand sculpted from scratch) using illegal labor, then just coat with plenty of paint which for all we know contains high amounts of lead, etc. Then rake in near 100% profit, as you stole the sculpts and pay nothing for labor. Enjoy your time fully on earth, as you're assuredly damned in the afterlife. Yeah, I have no strong feelings on this subject ;-)
  21. LOL Yeah, since it's all Monday morning quarterbacking your explanation is valid as anyone else's.
