  1. I'm 6'0" 180lbs or a bit more at times. I wear TE2 which is a good proxy and actually had to trim away parts of the kidney/ab plate to get it to fit correctly. I've seen AP/TE2 armor fit even taller/larger people fine.
  2. He better appreciate this is all I can say
  3. Holey smokes! How did I miss this? It's totally incredibble. Pablo - this is the coolest E-11 ever made. Best of the best! How the heck are you not 501st yet? My wife is jealous that I spend so much time looking at your youtube video - she wishes I'd watch porn instead.
  4. I typically just don't holster my weapon so haven't had this happen yet. The idea of adding velcro or a supplemental support is a good idea. Char Tozard is an officer in my garrison and found out after much research this is what Nazi officers did to keep their belt from sagging with a pistol, e.g. they had holes in that side of their tunic to run straps through. Another thought - you can always screw the belt on to the ab plate. That's how most FX kits recommend you assemble it (which is necessary for the plastic belt).
  5. All set guys. Glen - I slid you in and checked your data manually because I just think your screen name is cool, and I'm having a jolly good day. Cheers mates!
  6. Now *that* part of Apple I'll concede on. Those are pretty slick units.
  7. Anyone else read it? It's not a masterpiece of fiction by any stretch, but I'm finding myself quite addicted. Got it as a 40th b-day present (thanks Brian!) and have a hard time putting it down (which is bad, as I have an interview tomorrow that I should be studying for instead :-p). Anyone else read it? Like it? Not like it?
  8. Yes. But I think some people are making webcasts (essentially just a video file like an mpeg) and calling them podcasts, or video podcasts. At the end of they day they're just audio and video files that you can play on anything. Yeah, I hate Apple too. iTunes is such a pain and you pay a premium for the Apple brand. I find it ironic that people poo poo Microsoft yet Apple exerts far greater control over how you can listen to your stuff.
  9. Good to see an ESB thread, and a ESB trooper in progress.
  10. A Podcast just Apple slang for an .mp3 file. Really, that's all it is - it's like calling a garbage man a sanitation engineer. Nobody does marketing like Apple. Any mp3 player can play them, as well as any computer.
  11. TE2 and AP are similar in size. I'm 6'0" and wear this armor, and I'm sure not the tallest to do so. Hope this helps
  12. Done! Congratulations David - the first Elite Stormtrooper from Denmark and also the Nordic Garrison
  13. RomFx may be the most expensive, but to be honest guys I think it's by far the best sounding unit I've ever heard in person. I think it's because it's fully digital and all the others (IIRC) are analog.
  14. Heya Mark, It would be helpful to know a little more about your selection criteria, e.g. * Most important to me * Least important to me which could help narrow this down. Else are you just looking for reviews?
  15. If all you want is armor then check out Ebay. If you want to be part of the 501st and have an interest in doing charity work and exploring the world of costuming then - as many who've gone through the same process can attest - as painful and slow as it seams there are no fast answers. There are many choices and many options. There are many parts and many stories. You can take a quick path but this is also an easy way to make mistakes. I personally have gone down this path and frankly I don't recommend it. Seriously - there is a lot to learn and more than what can be answered in a few emails and posts. The more you know, the better it will get. And yes, we'll be here every step of the way. Equally critical - hook up with your local garrison. They will be the people in your area that can give in-person help and you'll be trooping with them sooner or later. There is no "army of one" in the Legion. This is a great chance to meet folks and see kit first hand.
  16. Fair enough. There was a fascinating thread about it on the Prop Den if anyone's interested in some first hand info on the case.
  17. I know you knew - just my standard disclaimer I'd suggest getting a whole second set. Trying to wipe dirt on and off is only half the problem. You'd need a second helmet, belt, ab plate, left shin, and shoes at a minimum. So far it seems the dream of using one costume for both is more hassle then just getting a second set of kit. How long was the kit in the closet? For me it took 5 years from getting the kit before I got around to completing it :-p
  18. Good call. Actually we're working on tightening up the wording to dis-allow using fabric to close the side gaps and specifying matching plastic only. Looks good - let's see if anyone else finds nits ;-)
  19. I see you found it! Thanks for the support (or I should say Greg thanks you for the support - he's hosting now!). Status updated
  20. It's a great start Mark! Just remember that only sandtroopers wear pauldrons. Great sig btw
  21. My first year in the 501st no one but my sandy buddy Brian expressed interest in going to Emerald City Comic Con, so we just went by ourselves as individuals. We were mobbed by photographers! Turns out a few others showed up, but it was never an official "event". What a blast! I say go out and have fun. In the end it's what it's all about, and when you're not representing yourself as 501st it's your costume to do with after all.
  22. It's an older code, but it checks out. Blast doors open trooper
  23. That's a great way to get tossed out of the Legion, or ensure you never get in.
  24. I think that's more on a garrison by garrison level. If you're at a con on your own, what you do is up to you. If you're representing your garrison, you need to abide by 501st and your local garrison norms. Some garrisons are pretty rigid, others loose. I'd say perhaps the best thing is never do something in public that you don't want showing up on Youtube.
  25. Jez's site is great, but it's yet another site to go to. Having that info here makes it somewhat easier to find. This is a great thread! I'm also surprised at the lack of ESB kit in the archives. Are any of the accessories still out there, e.g. the comlink & grappling hook? What about space pack stuff? Any blasters?
