  1. Yeah - having an online gallery is the way to go, and FISD is the place to host it. We can always package them as a .zip to download in bulk. I think this would remove the cost of having to create CD's, and also ensure that new pictures can be added easily. Having this is one of the two big projects for FISD this year.
  2. And as the Founder of FISD I am in complete harmony with Kevin's statement that we are brothers in arms. For too long SpecOps has truly been in the shadow - they are first class troopers in their own right and the time for them to shine in the sun with their FISD & MEPD brothers has arrived. I truly look forward to more cooperation between our two detachments, and our troopers!
  3. Congrats! AP is a nice kit and you'll be very happy. The downside is that your FX will start looking worse and worse the longer you have the AP.
  4. Sorry to hear that. I bet the other guy will embezzle money from them anyway. I can't imagine typing skills was the reason - perhaps he did her some "favors". Keep you chin up bro - something will come along
  5. The vobs from the LaserDisk set have been on the Internet for quite some time - long before George decided to essentially do the same thing and charge for them. I had hoped that Uncle George might have made some improvements, but it turned out to be a waste of my money to find out.
  6. I have a set of these and a VHS player. You should come over sometime Jim - I'll trade an ANH party for some of that wonderful smoked meat you make.
  7. OMG! This is horrible! I wish you the best Nathan. Yeah, as a motorcyclist I'm abhorred that a fellow two-wheeler took you out. I'd like to vent that it must have been a SQUID, a Harley, or a dentist, but I shouldn't generalize. Man - please get better. My prayers are with you.
  8. It's a reality guys. I was laid off from Microsoft - yes that Microsoft - just a few days after my daughter was born. I was laid off - again! - two years later when my son was born. Man, I can't have any more kids! My sister got let go from her own company after 10 years. It's tough out there. I don't think my wife has worked for more than 9 months straight in the past few years. All my friends & family are pretty much just getting by. Best of luck to you all - it will be a bumpy rest of the year until after elections, I think.
  9. Politics aside, sorry to hear about your layoff. Hope you find something better soon!
  10. Thanks for posting guys! It's great to see how good these turn out
  11. If you want to be generic I'd use "body suit". That said, it seems UnderArmor is fast becoming the Kleenix (or Xerox) of body suits, e.g. used to describe any kind of suit worn under armor, regardless of make.
  12. Some, but not most. So far it's just the Felucian Stormtrooper Officer. If you look at this picture, it's just the two on the right. When I looked at previews of the game I remember seeing some other characters that were essentially TK's with custom paint jobs. Can't find the screen caps now though The rest should be under SpecOps.
  13. Note that for FISD we're only adopting the ones that are essentially TKs with paint. The ones that have special equipment are really part of the SpecOps (TX) detachment. Also, it's OK that FISD is home to a TX costume. The costume designators and detachments are not a 1:1 mapping. For instance HWT's are TD but are in SpecOps. SL is divided between two dets. You get the picture.
  14. -- whistles -- Congrats! GINO sure does nice work
  15. Share your pix? Would love to see some of our stealthy brethren. Anyone "cross dress" and willing to share some show-off pix?
  16. One can always buy an AP or TE2 and paint it. If you think about it, *every* clone is painted so it's not different. Zach - that's a nice BH trooper you have there. My $.02 is that BH are starting to follow the same path as TK - lots of pure FX out there and it was considered "good enough", but lately I'm starting to see some really nicely done BH as people get more detailed in upgrading buckets and fitting.
  17. In human history it's only been recent (relatively) that you can't pick officers and troops apart - 1800's? IIRC in the Napoleanic wars at least it was still apparent. But SW fiction writers are making fantasy and not real life. There are many aspects to SW especially in EU that make no sense and have to be rationalized, even if it conflicts with earlier canon. Most of these back stories are made up by people who are not subject matter experts anyway, so why not just let it go? Personally I'm not hip to FU troopers, but maybe a well done one in real life would change my mind.
  18. Like ensuring the thighs are trimmed & fitted properly, and also perhaps look into upgrading the helmet
  19. I'd try Deckard on this board. 100% reliable & quality.
  20. I'm floored! You make it look so easy, but it's an incredible skill you've developed.
  21. What Lou said. Kevin and the rest of the Spec Ops men and women are great folk and will help you get squared away. The armor whether black of white is pretty much the same, so any building advice found here works equally well.
  22. I think whoever does a run won't be lacking for orders.
  23. GREAT NEWS! Best of luck to you Mike and my prayers are with you.

    Gas prices

I don't check the price - I have to drive what I drive. I can say that my old '91 Escort got 40mpg back in the day. If my wife won't let us move closer to work, I'll just buy a motorcycle (my '01 Sprint ST got 50mpg).
