  1. Please enable me for the 501st member access on this website . Here is my membership info: http://www.501stlegion.org/members/display...php?userID=9326 Thank you!
  2. I think my funniest would have to be when I did my very 1st troop, one woman asked if she could get her picture taken humping my leg...and when I asked her why, she said she always wanted a picture of her humping a Stormtrooper's leg?!
  3. That's great, and funny too! As long as the price doesn't turn out to be ridiculous, I would have to buy several pair .
  4. Perhaps she should have told him to wait to propose until he had a ring for her, if it was that big of a deal? Also, I would have thought that his going to Las Vegas and to strip clubs would have come up somewhere during the length of their relationship? As to her wanton and premeditated destruction of his property...yeah. First of all, WHY would you create evidence of yourself breaking the law? Second, if you are so immature and petty that you will destroy your loved one's possessions to "teach him a lesson," then you are obviously not mature enough to get married. Yes, he could probably stand to grow up a little too, but she accepted his proposal...so she either knew what he was like and said yes, or else she didn't know what he was like and therefore should not have accepted until she knew him better. Smitty, you're right, this woman SHOULD be kicked in the groin . What a horrible person. I hope she never finds a man who will put up with this type of crap, but knowing our society, she probably will......... <_<
  5. Damn, that does suck ..... I hope that things turn around for you. I've never met you, but through reading your posts on here, you seem like a nice person. Hopefully, you will find a better job . Best of luck!
  6. Will the Novus work on a MR CE helmet? I scratched my helmet during my first Troop .

    FISD at SWW

This will be my first SWW as well...I was in Orlando last year during one weekend of the event, but since I was not a member of the 501st at the time, all I got to do was hear about the parade after the others got back from it. This year, I get to armor up and participate!

    FISD at SWW

I will be there on Friday the 13th and Saturday the 14th . Can't wait!
  9. Just curious as to what you do, as a TK or other Star Wars character, at conventions that has turned out well? What must you NOT do? Serious and silly replies are both okay .
  10. My GF calls me a nerd too...but she can quote lines from the Original Trilogy and from the Lord of the Rings movies . I tried to explain to her that nerds are those people who have the personality types of the characters in Revenge of the Nerds, and that someone who has their own TK armor (soon to be put together) is the epitome of cool . Also, as many people on this topic have already mentioned, how can it be uncool/freakish/etc to join an organization where you get to help charities, make people smile (when they get their picture taken with you) AND have fun??
  11. I'm old...32! That's okay though...it just means I was lucky enough to see all three original Star Wars movies in the theaters, before they were altered .
  12. My girlfriend and I will be attending the 2nd weekend of Star Wars Weekends this year . This will be my first time participating, and I don't even know how many times she has participated! Here is a link of rumored guests: -------------- It lists Warwick Davis, David Prowse, Peter Mayhew, Matthew Wood and Jeremy Bulloch. There are some confirmations on all of these celebrities being present for the events. There are still other slots open, most notably there are no rumors/confirmations about who will be there for the 1st weekend... I am really looking forward to this! Now if Weird Al will only decide that he wants the 501st Stormtroopers on stage with him again (when he finishes up his tour this Summer)...
  13. One of my co-workers suggested an alternate plan...which I had been considering if I ran into a situation where TSA refused to allow me to either check or carry-on my E-11. She suggested mailing the E-11 ahead of me to the hotel that I would be staying at, or else just overnighting it to my destination in Florida. Although it would be an extra cost, this WOULD guarantee that I would have my blaster for the Star Wars Weekends parades. *ponders* Any opinions on this? *curious*
  14. I am so excited, I have wanted to be a Stormtrooper since I was a little boy. I would run around in white thermal pants and a white thermal shirt, with white shin-guards (from soccer) to make it look more like I was wearing armor *chuckles*. I had seen Stormtroopers here and there at different comic-book conventions, but I never knew there was a large group until I met my girlfriend, who is in the 501st. When she told me that not only was there a large group of people who dressed up like Stormtroopers, Darth Vader, Boba Fett, etc, but that they also do alot of work for charitable organizations...well, it seemed like a great hobby to have! Since then, I have been meeting alot of 501st members, whether by design or by accident. When I attended Dragon*Con for the first time in 2007, my girlfriend let me use a 501st Legion lanyard for my convention badge. We hadn't been standing in line (to pick up our passes) more than 10 minutes before another person in line greeted me by asking me how long I had been in the 501st. This person was a member, and despite the fact that he didn't know me at all, and would likely never meet me again, welcomed me as if I were his neighbor. When I explained that I was not (yet) a member of the 501st, he told me that if I ever wanted to join, to contact him. I didn't, since I believe he was from the Texas Garrison, and I live in Ohio, but I appreciated the offer. I saw alot of 501st members at Dragon*Con, at GalaxyCon and at Mid-Ohio Con. I don't believe that there was a single instance in which I was made to feel anything other than welcome. Do you realize how unlikely that is, with such a large and diverse group of people? Not only was I made to feel welcome, but several people told me that (when I was ready) they would help me put together my armor, and help guide me through the process...which is really quite necessary, as I don't really get along so well with using tools *chuckles*. Even on the Internet (at www.ohio501st.com and www.whitearmor.net), I have been "meeting" people who have helped me along in my progress of obtaining armor and all the accessories. Despite the fact that many of these people have never heard my voice or know what I look like, they have all been friendly and helpful. I am very impressed. I think that too many times in our society, it's a case of every person for themselves, but that is clearly not the case in the 501st Legion. Oh, I am sure that there are some exceptions, but that could be said of any group. Can most groups truly claim that they help bring new members (and even those who are not yet members, like me!) up and into their ranks, treating them like a brother or sister? That is the feeling that I have gotten. Many of you even address each other as such. It is something that is very telling, and a good sign . Well, I will stop my rambling now, but I just want to thank all of you who have given me insight, advice and encouragement as I begin my new hobby. I really do appreciate it, and I will be sure to pass it forward when I get that opportunity!
  15. Guys, I wanted to say thank you very much for the information and for sharing your traveling experiences with me. I feel alot better now about traveling with my armor and bucket !
