  1. No fooling! Almost there...
  2. Guys - enough of the baiting/picking back and forth - I just deleted 6 posts and would hate to start suspending people, but will if that kind of thing carries on. Save it for the RPF.
  3. Everyone should be updated - Jason, I'll be looking for that Elite request thread shortly ;-)
  4. Very well said Dan - this is my personal point of view as well. I would hope that you feel as welcome here as TE2 does.
  5. Thanks for splitting the topic Terrell.
  6. Holy smokes! Nice work Dan
  7. I'm not sure how they can't be allowed. Every clone is a fan sculpt. Most TK's are too (FX is a fan sculpt, as is RT and TM).
  8. All set troops - thanks for the links! Paul - congrats on your membership Kris - yay on you
  9. The Tantive IV raid, hands down. It was the first SW movie I saw and fascinated me immediately.
  10. I think they are acceptable. Personally - my $.02 I admit - the best route to go is get some comfortable Jodhpur boots and dye them white.
  11. My crystal ball says there will be a ton of costume variations. It seems that the need to have yet another variation to sell yet another action figure is the driving force behind this. I've lost count of EU troopers. It will certainly take coordination between FISD, SpecOps, and CTN to keep it all sorted. Thankfully FISD & SpecOps have an excellent relationship FISD has already started accepting some EU troopers, it will be interesting to see how open we get, or how focused we remain.
  12. Note updated first post!
  13. Glad to hear you're OK and getting better. I just turned 40, so it's a great wake up call for guys even as young as ourselves to take better care.
  14. Great start! I had so many glue issues on my first set (I was excited) I had to turn it sandy. Take your time and it will come out great
  15. For a long time it was chicken and egg. People in the 501st wouldn't tell you where to get armor until you were in the 501st (unless they were pawning bad recast crap on you), yet w/o armor you couldn't join the 501st. So for many people including myself hitting Ebay was the first step. Part of me wanting to create this detachment was so that new people had the same information, and could thus avoid having to make the same mistakes everyone else did in the past. I think it's silly that buying your first set of armor off of Ebay was considered a "rite of passage" by many.
  16. Lots of people who pull armor are recasting which is bad joo joo. If you're looking for recasted sets (cheap) you won't find them here. OTOH, if you're looking for legitimate armor why not contact those people directly?
  17. All set Mark! Don't forget to get your GML to update your profile pix.
  18. My buddy got a laser scan of it and now has a 3d file. I can make my own, so pfffts.
  19. Some guy in my garrison is going to do a run of these soon. He says he got it from a friend of a friend who had the real item and let him use it. The best part is they're really cheap - $1 each. But you can't email him directly and I can't say who it is or where the parts came from. But trust me, they're the real deal. My GML said so and he's an officer so he must be right.
  20. Man, I just *love* build threads, and a TE2 one to boot? I'm so on this Did you see oneal's AP tutorial on http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=3404 ? That should help as well.
  21. If history is any guide, it won't be worth anything. Unless you have something signed by the prop maker themselves. Armor gets better and cheaper each year.
  22. There's an interesting point about AP/TE2 shoulders/biceps that's different from FX (not sure about RT). The FX biceps are tall all the way 'round and the bells come down more, so having a strap at the bottom of the shoulder bell around the bicep is a great mod to keep things in place. However the AP/TE2 bells don't go down as far and as you can seem from Jim's pix above there, so a bottom strap won't work (trust me, I've tried and it doesn't work). Jim's configuration above however I think is much more appropriate for the AP/TE2. My $.02...
  23. Or...provide a second picture of the back/left side detail showing the holster and thermal detonator, as both are required elements. Unless of course we can convince Mike to make a second belt just for these pictures. I mean if everyone can get together for the OMG helmet, perhaps the pieces can be donated
  24. We can always photoshop a holster on. It's otherwise the leader in TK costuming. Until someone feels theirs is better
  25. It's a touchy subject Burge. I think most of us would like to see things tightened up even a little bit as you suggest as part of the CRL. Especially considering that there really is no existing standards (I challenge anyone to produce a current 501st Legion standard for the TK - there isn't any) and it's all just "mutual agreement". But this is not 100% either - some garrisons are tighter than others. Maybe in 5 years when this actually comes out for vote to the membership it will be moot anyway, as most will have gotten around to upgrading to Elite ;-) Trust me - I think everyone on the staff would prefer the CRL to be tighter than what it is for base standards. I think if the GMLs push for tighter regs when it goes up for review it will have a stronger chance of being done than us pushing from the detachment level.
