  1. Agree on the suit, excellent job getting it fitted to you, especially on the thighs. 501st acceptance should be a foregone conclusion. Ryan, the silver mylar strips is an FX-thing, and shouldn't be there anyway. You don't see them on other kits, and you won't see them present in any ANH reference photos.
  2. Another well-executed TM. Need closeup pics of the blaster and helmet.
  3. Agreed. Carrie Fisher sure was good-looking back then.
  4. I don't see why you couldn't, althought depending on your garrison you wouldn't be allowed to wear it at certain events. I also doubt you'd get a special designation, you'd simply be a well-accesorized TK. I have a TK lightsaber that I wear at cons. Most other events I keep it at home, since a lightsaber-wielding stormtrooper tends to confuse everyone except EU-familiar fans.
  5. Glad to see you here Rob, and thanks for giving us bigger guys a great option! Looking forward to seeing comparison pics of the new bucket.
  6. I'm really looking forward to seeing how that comes out.
  7. Welcome. RT-Mod is slightly larger than FX in terms of both length and girth. It was specifically sculpted with bigger guys in mind. There's a thread here somewhere with some RT vs FX comparison photos. Regardless, you'll have to accept that at your height you'll have more undersuit showing than someone who is closer to screen-accurate height (around 5'10"). Typical problem among taller troopers, myself included. Best to avoid the FX bucket, it's still Legion-accepted but is quickly falling out of favor.
  8. Holy crap! I would LOVE to do something like this! The odds of me being able to pull it off are slim to none, but a guy can dream.
  9. I can help you out with both the lenses and tusks. Check our garrison board for details.
  10. Excellent job on the chest rivets, Nels. I had been wondering how you were going to correct that (and if it was even possible without buying new shoulder straps), but it came out really well.
  11. Very nice. Interacting with excited fans is always my favorite part of troops. Is the shadow stormtrooper a painted TM? To date the only TX suits I've seen are FX.
  12. What color lenses do you plan on installing? Dark red, maybe?
  13. Wow. That has real potential, especially at cons.
  14. Looks like you can easily get a TK designation right now. Replace the buttons and mod the blaster and you should be EIB-eligible.
  15. Off to a good start. Another EIB in the making for Garrison Tyranus!
  16. Overall, looks pretty good. Still need closeup pics of the helmet (lenses, mic tips) and blaster (T-tracks, D-ring). What material did you use to close the side gaps? It looks like it's bunching up.
  17. Excellent job, both on your build and first troop in TK armor. In addition to the belt and buttons, can you trim a bit off the top of your holster loops so that they're flush with the top of the belt? Once again, great job. Any pics from the parades? I love seeing female troopers.
  18. What's it like to work with? Most of us are accustomed to cutting, sanding, and painting with ABS or HDPE. Is the new material substantially different or more difficult to work? Definitely add me to the interest list.
  19. Definitely RT Mod. I've actually seen the photo from which it was taken, but I can't seem to locate it right now.
  20. One of the distinctive traits of RT helmets (mine anyway) is that the bumps on the earcaps are molded into the ears, versus being separate pieces. Another is the black on the vocoder is a sticker, versus being painted.
  21. You could attach the front ABS utility belt with screws/nuts or rivets, then cover up the screw/rivet with a piece of ABS glued in place over it. Yeah, I can attest to that. I'll definitely be adding double-snaps to my thighs before my next troop.
  22. You don't need to wait that long, we're got another one coming up next month. The only catch is you have to be official with the 501st to participate. (hint, hint - get your armor done soon and it could be you in the next set of photos )
