  1. Congrats on being Elite #50! Does this deserve a mention on the next 501st Cast?
  2. Yeahh!!! Thanks to all! I'll definitely be using Billy's strapping setup, that looks like it'll both keep my chest plate in place, and bring it down enough (and with it my back plate up enough) to eliminate the overlap between the back and kidney plates without coming so far down as it covers my buttons. Two problems, one solution, SCORE! I'll also make the adjustments to the shoulder bell positioning so they don't slide back so much. My next troop may not be until late February, so I'll have plenty of time to make adjustments and improvements. Elastic strap around the biceps, already done. They're impossible to see in the photos but I've got them, just above the biceps. I need to wear the biceps a bit higher so they're visible. Level 3 TIE hangar, on my way!
  3. Thanks Lisa! The shoulders have an odd way of riding back on me. I'm going to have to think about how to solve that one. If I could just get the chest to remain low, not only would it be at the perfect height, but the back and kidney pieces would just touch. Tried velcro but it doesn't hold. Anybody got any suggestions? The problem with the thighs is the size. Hard to believe, but I can barely get into them, even with no taper at the top. With this problem, I can't imagine trying to squeeze into AP/TE2 thighs without a lot of shimming. I wasn't really thinking of my future career as a stormtrooper when I started bodybuilding all those years ago, now it's come back to haunt me. Next kit will be RT-Mod, hopefully it will be more accomodating to my body type.
  4. Thanks! Per request, belt and DLT19. Belt is canvas-covered, I went with that option as it provides an unlimited number of attach points. BFG is a Hyperfirm. It's both lighter and tougher than my resin E-11. Definitely my weapon of choice. Anything missing?
  5. A few action shots: TK lightsaber. It's not movie canon, but I couldn't resist.
  6. Now some detail pics: Helmet, RT-Mod with Stomper's Hovi-Mix speaker aerators
  7. Finally done! Here's another Elite submission for the queue: A few full-body photos: Need to figure out how to keep the chestplate from riding up and the shoulders from riding back. <_<
  8. Nice progress! Any plans to do molds for an entire set of armor?
  9. Looks like I need T-track, the ammo feeder box, and the grip disk. Excellent reference, thanks for the link.
  10. I agree with Chris in that trooping and being a part of the 501st has been a blast, and an experience that has added a wonderful dimension to my life. I've made friends all over the world, brought joy to countless people, and gotten to live my Star Wars dreams. However, this is a hobby and school is partly about preparing for the future. A good rule of thumb I've heard when buying computers is to buy as much capability as you can afford, because the cheaper and less capable you buy, the more quickly it becomes obsolete. As for your computer studies, although it really depends on exactly what you'll be doing, it's better to have an overpowered machine and be able to grow into it than an underpowered machine and quickly outgrow it. It sounds like you've been a very responsible young man, what with attending and paying for school, paying for your car, etc. Good for you, continue to do so. If you can afford both the good computer and the AP kit, great! Otherwise, take care of you educational requirements first. We'll still be here, I guarantee it.
  11. Congratulations, and thank you for you continuing dedication to this forum and hobby. Can't think of what I would do at 2am without the FISD just a few clicks away.
  12. I went with a canvas-covered belt instead of full canvas. I like it in that it provides more support and an unlimited number of attach points for accessories, including your holster. White nail polish, hmm. I'll have to pick some up this weekend. Thanks for the tip!
  13. You certainly do a lot of trooping! I wish my garrison was that active in my part of Virginia. So, how exactly do people in passing cars react to a Stormtrooper posted in front of a busy street? I'm thinking "WTF?!?" is probably a typical response.
  14. It's the first pinned topic under the "Assembly, Mods, and Painting" subforum. http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=3938
  15. I'm considering adding the additional features to my Hyperfirm MG34 to upgrade it to a screen-accurate DLT-19. What are all the differences between the two, is it just T-track and the ammo feeder? Anything else? Anyone know where I can get the required parts? I know there are a few T-track sellers on this board, what about the other parts? Thanks in advance.
  16. I was asking myself that very same question. BTW, your TK is absolutely top notch, it really shows just how good an FX kit can look.
  17. It would be good to move the drop boxes out to the ends of the armor belt. Also consider doing the chest trim mod. Good job on the thigh taper. Nice, clean rig you have there. Well done.
  18. How's the visibility? Do you have any pics as seen from the interior side of the face shield?
  19. How would you holster your blaster given the right-side holster? Do you holster it "backwards"?
