TM ROTJ helmet build 1.5mm
The5thHorseman replied to mikedwelle94's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Why make it Centurion? Wouldn't it be smarter to make it a 501st base requirement frolm the go? Because if not, anyone who has hollowed the teeth and who wants to upgrade to Centurion will have to buy a whole new helmet. -
Very nice! Did you also change the neck trim for a S-shaped one?
-
Pro-tip from TrooperMaster: once you have fitted your forearms start closing them by gluing the back cover stripes instead of the front ones. As there are no flat surfaces for the back cover stripes, if you want them to lie nicely flat without requiring a lot of magnets, it's easier to glue them first.

I like your background pictures! They're real pleasure to the eyes .
-
Actually the original armors were pulled in a creamy, off-white ABS. So yes, it's supposed to be that way.
-
Avoid gaps between the back and kidney, and chest and abdominal plates first. The increased gap around the neck should be hidden when you have the helmet on. 1 or 2 millimeters? Man, this is the end of the world!! More seriously, there's nothing to worry about.

Anovos Vs SDS Hero Lid, thoughts?
The5thHorseman replied to welshchris77's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
I personally prefer comparing apples to oranges. -
I remember enjoying a lot your blaster build, so I'll be following this ANOVOS build .
-
Looks like a poor vac forming work, and quality control indeed. No luck for you mate. I hope they'll send you spare parts to replace the ones that need to be.
-
That's funny because when I saw you thermal detonator I thought it looked like a TM one. Glad to see my eye is still sharp. Honestly it looks good, but I can't help myself to think there's something off with the chest plate. And I will have to add to the others, the way you notched your thighs is too much. Yes, they are thighs in the film that are notched like that, but never extending over the bottom ridge where you fasten the ammo thigh pack. Instead of going this far up on the thighs, why didn't you notch the top of your shins? However, for anyone thinking about it, I do not recommand trimming the top of the thighs. In most case, it will look far worse. This is absolutely a last chance solution. Also, your straps from biceps to forearm are mispositionned. They should be oriented towards the front instead of the back like you did. Here's an original right arm for example:

ANOVOS belt replacing...
The5thHorseman replied to TK 2759's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Do you remember how, when the EFX stormtrooper armor was revealed, we were all bitching over the two rivets on the belt when the helmet was a Hero? Don't you find ironic and amusing that we are now bitching just the same for this ANOVOS armor but the other way around: four rivets belt, with a Stunt helmet. Next time someone will ask me about the most controversial element in the whole stormtrooper armor, I'll answer "The belt rivets, no doubt about that!". -
My Daughter's Blaster not a build, but NEW T-TRACK SUPPLIER?
The5thHorseman replied to gazmosis's topic in ANH BlasTech E11
Indeed, T-tracks look real nice for not that much of money. Nice find. -
I just saw that picture on on the web: A shame a FISD member didn't make it first... I'm very disappointed by all of you guys .
-
I know that one. But in even worse... Luckily I dodged that bulllet, a lot of my friends didn't.
-
Hum, I don't know... Ditch that ugly EFX helmet? Please? Because that pink chair right next to you is more beautiful than it.

C0bra's ANH Stunt Build. (Centurion)
The5thHorseman replied to C0bra_M3nace's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
End caps should be approximatively 20mm long: -
That speeder chase is supposed to happen with Snowtroopers, and snowpeeder actually. The snowpeeder above is the vehicule Finn and Rey got out before entering the Starkiller Base.
-
Which is fortunate. I've never been a fan of black stormtrooper armors, whether OT or TFA, and this one makes no exception. However, given the black and red colors, this stormtrooper must been a "Special Force" one. Like for the TIE fighters and pilots.
-
Suspenders are indeed totally out fashion nowadays because it's not accurate, and it doesn't work necessarily better than the accurate strapping system. Also using the accurate strapping way tends to give better result with the outside look of your armor because the parts will be nicely stacked one upon each other with no gaps or overlaps, which is a Centurion requirement.
-
For the torso part, I would suggest to remove almost entirely the return edge you left at the neck opening. You don't need much at all at this place, and leaving it might make it more choking than it already is.

Replacement Ab Plate (ANH Hero)
The5thHorseman replied to rtfitzpa's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Only for 501st approval. Here's a Hero stormtrooper with only two rivets holding his holster. The exception that confims the rule I guess . -
I agree my scope is a little too long. I wanted to adress that too, but keep forgetting. However, on this version of the blaster, the biggest issue is the scope mount being mounted far too forward. But I see you corrected that too, so good job! And yes, I can see shallow print lines too. But honestly I find them very discret and I'm not bothered by them at all.

Replacement Ab Plate (ANH Hero)
The5thHorseman replied to rtfitzpa's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Just for your information: Hero and Stunt armors share the exact same abdominal plate, and button plates. Actually, the whole armor is the same between both. Only the helmet differs.
