Another mind reader LOL, I found if I gave it a little twist from the right it straightened up really well, did notice a few troopers with theirs lopsided, then just added a bit of glue and clamped until tomorrow. Now that I had a chance to try my ab and kidney together I realised the belt I had made earlier this year was too short and too wide. Lucky had some material left so went of searching, measured the gap between the tapers on the belt (3") then made another one the right length and width. Then added some snaps for the plastic belt section.

Yep a daily grind for me too, found the worst thing was wearing socks, abs is as sticky as and you got to sit there picking it all out. Hard to believe I had the carpet completely clean this morning. Got a few more snap plates attached and made some adjustable straps for the front chest and ab sections, also the back. Can change these later to non adjusting straps once I find how the armor fits me

First elastic straps made I have made, will see how they are for strength when Im fitted, may add a couple more

LOL well I did do a lot of re reading when I found out my armor was on the way, but still find I need to ask questions. There are no requirements for EIB or Centurion for fittings, a lot use rivets but those who wish for screen accuracy use the flat taper screws.

Sorry no I haven't a list, I basically just printed out the templates and found pipe, wood and made some flat pieces of pvc and glued them together. I did find this the most challenging of all the blasters I have built so far. It is rewarding when it is finished and when others ask if you will make more LOL. I just asked a few of my local troopers the same question when I started , was a 50 / 50 split as to painting the indside of your lid. I went with paint, mine is an ATA and I did not have any problems with it showing through, I find it helps with the illusion when kids can't see up into the helmet. I just gave the helmet a quick sand with some 240 grit sandpaper just to help the paint stick as the abs is quite glossy. Also may add that I used a household satin black just so light wouldn't show reflectoins in the black. I have heard others use the truck bed paint and have no problems with the ATA. I did in the long wait for armor research what I needed to complete an armor build and purchased a lot of things prior to my build. It was like a little tease having small packages turning up in the mail on random days. I have thought of a few number combos but then they get taken LOL, may have to be the day off decision

From memory I think I read that they used flat head screws, they must be the tapered ones that are countersunk

Glued on the larger rear cover strip, will attach the velcro later. Inner front strengthening strip also attached.

I would trim your sides and back for the moment, try not to modify the front or you may find the opening to be too big and your face may show under the front. Easier to take of a llittle than too much so just take your time and keep checking

I would trim to suit, roughen both surfaces then use an epoxy 2part mix to glue together, is very strong and can take a lot of force

They looked quite good but he hasn't made any since early 2009. One of the problems with these old threads, you see it, you want it, but you just can't have it LOL. Keep up the good work Karin, no doubt everyone will be waiting for your renovations to be finished LOL

Well the second thigh went together even easier than the first. Now time for a rest and a well earned drink

Would need to see all the s trim off for a better look. I did take a little more off from under the ears and the back area, I find I can put my lid on sideways then rotate my head once its in.

I havent had any problems ordering with doopydoos but I know others have. I have had two of their kits, one a hasbro mod and one for a pvc pipe build. They also do a full resin kit which I have heard can be brittle so you would have to be careful with it. I have only ever seen two threads which mentioned Stikers mods, seems to be nice detailing but from memory I don't think he shipped to Aus so I never looked for follow up info. Yup more clamps and more magnets will be purchased for future builds lol Ha Ha you must have read my mind, checked that earlier I have left more return than needed which I will trim once all the gluing is finish, I thought rather have too much than not enough. These cold tablets are working a treat One thigh has taken more time than both of the calves, lots of tweaking and a little heating just to get it to sit right for the cover strips. Both outer strips glued on, inners tomorrow. Will be getting more magnets for future builds but for now some tape will have to do.
