  1. Yep goo remover works a treat, there is also an orange citrus product that does the same thing
  2. Not a lot of progress last few days, health issues. Managed to finish the folding stand, have made it all operational, was quite rewarding making it all work
  3. Noticed them this morning, thought I hadn't woken up properly and was seeing double LOL. Well done guys
  4. The blue tape worked well for me
  5. Could try a bit of padding, may be worth a go
  6. Another great read, thanks all for your hard work
  7. Or like what I am wearing, Swine Troopers and Pork Vader LOL
  8. Thanks guys you are too kind Just onto the stand now, making the adjuster, still need to find a bit of spring tension rod, maybe a bicycle spoke will do Now the stands and a few details
  9. I just smeared a coat of 5 minute epoxy over the inside just to add a little strength. Also trying to get both of them to align was a bit of fun but what I used was two small pieces of black hose, which I cut on a slant, I then put it between the lid and mic, you can then rotate this slanted rubber washer which in turn allows you to rotate the mic until it is straight, hope that made sense.
  10. We have Selly's brand in Australia, not sure what you guys have in the US, just don't do what I did at first and buy the real cheap stuff from the discount stores, it is very sticky and takes longer to dry. You know what they say, you get what you pay for LOL. Good luck -
  11. I have been using that plastic on my blaster builds and found that 5 minute epoxy works well, I do rough the surgaces with 80 grit sandpaper before I glue. It's good too as you don't have to hold the pieces fo very long before they dry, there is also a 1 minute epoxy around too bit think that is quite a bit more expensive. Hope that helps, good luck with the build
  12. Great minds lol, will keep my eyes open for your wip
  13. Thank you kind Sir Was racking my brain thinking of how I could get the knurl look on the side handle and while scouring the shops found this $2 torch, couldn't believe it was just the right diameter too. Handle fitted and a few more details added
  14. Going well there, keep it up, I also will be picking your brains soon hopefully
  15. Managed to order 2 slings from here came to $43.00 including postage, their site search doesn't work well, I just looked up the weapon model and the slings came up. Will post a picture of the quality when they arrive.
  16. I had thought about a small external camera and a small screen inside my lid but I don't think there would be much room in the lid for my eyes to focus on the screen. I remember seeing a movie with chopper pilots who have a fold out screen mounted on their helmets. Your set if your a trekie ------------- . Their getting close to them http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2012/04/6-glasses-with-integrated-displays-that-you-can-buy-today/
  17. Looking good, keep it up
  18. Very nice work there, well done
  19. Imagine the comments then if we teamed up for builds lol
  20. I used a common satin black after giving the inside a light sand. I did sand off the paint where I wanted to use glue as I didn't want things to fall out
  21. LOL, there is someone making them in the US at the moment, he does a few runs per year from what I have seen. Don't think it's worth competing with him, he does some very nice work
  22. A few more details to the body
  23. Tapered disc, for screen accuracy
  24. A few detail pieces underneath
