  1. Very cool that you were lent some armor, troopers helping troopers indeed. Well done guys
  2. Hi Matt I would just try to square the corners of the teeth a little more, have seen that picked on before, eyes looking good just see how they are when you fit your lenses, I wanted mine quite flat inside the lid so I sanded across the back of them with a small block of wood and sandpaper. Keep up the good work
  3. Don't know if this is any help to you but here is a couple of links to have a look at showing different versions of the E-11 : http://www.partsofsw.com/e11_a2.htm http://www.partsofsw.com/e11guide.htm
  4. Thanks Jenny, took me a while to paint the edges of the buttons my hands aren't that steady, may have been the beam lol, Admiral sounds much better, oooooow I'm a Commander now LOL. Think we may finish our builds about the same time, you are going great btw. Now go nag that husband for his number Felling a bit more human so glued some inner strips and some more snaps
  5. LOL I slipped with my dremel when trimming my teeth on the lid, was looking for a bucket real fast as the feeling in my stomache was not a happy one. Think eveyone has the same feeling with the first scratch, ding, dent. Least I won't be banging my head on a blast door like the trooper in ANH LO.
  6. Sorry just woke up and head wasn't quite up to speed, I know exactly what you mean now, that would work fine then
  7. I have had similar problems with some of my pieces, as I am a bit on the thin side. What worked for me was to glue one side, then once dry I lay the cover stip on the join, clamp and apply some heat to both sides of the piece, then apply some downwards force to the cover strip. This has worked well for me and takes the tension out of the pieces joined. May just add before attempting to heat abs you should have a practice on some off cuts. ABS is easy to heat but there is a danger of heating too much, so if you try this just take your time. Good luck how ever you proceed
  8. Send a plane ticket and I'm there LOL maybe I can hitch a ride. oops forgot I still have to finish mine first
  9. If the shim is glued, blended, sanded and polished it can look ok, but I am with you if they are just glued the do look a bit odd, would rather see the black. Just fitted mine and I thought I may have to widen mine as I have indulged in a lot of Christmas spirit of late, seems I will be fine LOL. Looking good keep up the good work
  10. I just rounded the edge on the bottom of my shins just to stop them catching on the boots. Going well keep up the good work
  11. Will look heaps better with the covers moved, keep up the good work, your are going great
  12. Not sure about using screws to attach your button plate, haven't seen that done before. It's your choice and you could still change it later
  13. Another great read, well done again everyone
  14. Was having build seperation anxiety, so did a bit of painting
  15. So I didn't get any answers so I bugged the guru for the answer, which is, the taper sweeps backwards. In the picture below the bell on the left would be the right shoulder and the bell on the right would be the left shoulder
  16. Just on another point I have noticed forearms being picked on of late for being too large at the elbow, its the one on your right side. See how you go, good luck with submission
  17. Just a thought you could fix this by gluing a flat piese of abs to the back of it to take up what is missing. Good luck, remember measure twice cut once
  18. Glad to be of help, troopers helping troopers is the moto. That was a lot of work, well done but, yes theres a but, the flat screws also have a taper so they recess into the plate which makes them flush. It's an entirely personal preference what to use and even what you can find to use, me I'm going for the tapered flat head, but at the start of my build journey I would have settled for rivets. Go with what you are happy with, oh and remember its not permenant you can always change it later.
  19. Thanks Jenny sounds like a plan, got the cold tablets, chicken soup, Pepsi (with a splash of beam, purely medicinal) and about to re- watch the trilogy's. keep up the good work on your build, won't be long now
  20. Thanks Jenny, slowing down now this cold has take a hold Got the holes drilled in belt and snaps fitted Arms fitted with snaps And elastic on the bells
  21. I used 19mm pine and for the butt I sandwiched 3 pieces together, used wood glue then clamped. Was a lot of trimming and sanding but worth it LOL thanks Jonathan, just wrapping it NOT
  22. Depends on how much you have used this mic but I have read they do not like moisture. Still sounds like a feedback problem between the icomm and aker
  23. Looking good, hey looks pretty much the same as my floor did (but mine was on a rug)
