  1. Well the second thigh went together even easier than the first. Now time for a rest and a well earned drink
  2. Well done congrats trooper. So should we change it from Troopers Helping Troopers to Troopers Doing the Most Good
  3. Would need to see all the s trim off for a better look. I did take a little more off from under the ears and the back area, I find I can put my lid on sideways then rotate my head once its in.
  4. I havent had any problems ordering with doopydoos but I know others have. I have had two of their kits, one a hasbro mod and one for a pvc pipe build. They also do a full resin kit which I have heard can be brittle so you would have to be careful with it. I have only ever seen two threads which mentioned Stikers mods, seems to be nice detailing but from memory I don't think he shipped to Aus so I never looked for follow up info. Good luck what you decide and read, read and once you think you know it all, read again lol
  5. Yup more clamps and more magnets will be purchased for future builds lol Ha Ha you must have read my mind, checked that earlier I have left more return than needed which I will trim once all the gluing is finish, I thought rather have too much than not enough. These cold tablets are working a treat One thigh has taken more time than both of the calves, lots of tweaking and a little heating just to get it to sit right for the cover strips. Both outer strips glued on, inners tomorrow. Will be getting more magnets for future builds but for now some tape will have to do.
  6. Thanks Reza, just seems to be falling into place at the moment, just waiting for my first major stuff up LOL Managed to trim the front of th legs pretty straight Front cover strips glued on, will do the inner strips tomorrow
  7. Just wanted to find out which way the taper points on the bells, some have them facing forward, some have them facing backwards.
  8. Hope everyone is better soon at your end Charles. Nothing worse here than a cold with hot days, back up to 35degc here next week. So tablets have cleared my head, soothers for the sandpaper throat and vicks vapor rub for my nose, back to trimming. Just left a small return edge on the bells.
  9. Sorry Tony must be sick, can't even get someones name right lol, now wheres those cold tablets aaaaaaaaaaaaaachoooo
  10. All I know for sure is that if you use the darker blue and go for expert or centurion levels then you will get asked to change it (from the threads I have read)
  11. Thanks Clinton, helps looking at all your guys threads, hey nice signature lol
  12. You may have to go build a blaster then LOL
  13. Inner and outer stips glued on. I had read a few posts about right forearms looking quite big at the elbow, found mine was the same, didn't want to trim anymore off and loose those ridges so I decided as the piece was quite oval I would apply a bit of heat and just squash it a little to bring it back to round. Fits a lot better now and has lost that big look on the elbow.
  14. Slowing down now, start of summer and it's raining 23degc and I have a cold, damm you global warming lol Does that meen I'm doing something right??? or wrong lol
  15. Cool, I may have to put some info together later for newbies, just to make it a little easier for them, FISD is a great resource but sometimes info is hard to search for. I can't believe how much info I have downloaded and still I need to ask questions, don't think I will ever stop learning
  16. What no clamps LOL. Very cool but gee your ugly ha ha ha
  17. Thank you everyone, keep thinking of random armor questions while trimming and glueing, must be the fumes. Still remember the quote measure twice cut once, (especially with expensive armor lol)
  18. Just wanted to check a few measurements: 1. When you align the drop boxes are they, (1) aligned to the very end of the belt or (2) aligned to the tapered corner before the end of the belt, I have seen both examples used and just want to be correct. 2. Split rivet location from the edge on the sides of the torso, roughly from what I have seen looks like about 10-15mm 3. What gap should there be between the end of belt and the holster, or is it a just place where comfortable 4. Shoulder straps I have found two measurements for attaching, (1) 5 ridges or (2) 4 and 1/2 ridges (not including the first large ridge) Think that is it for the moment, I am sure there will be more questions soon
  19. Very cool, I remember the excitement opening my first box, now I am on to the second box and there was even more excitement. Good luck with our build, will be watching
  20. Was going to see if I could borrow a mates bench saw but tried the score and snap method and it seems to be working well
  21. I did read a thread a while ago which couldn't definately say that Humbrol was used but as it was a UK based company it was assumed that it would have been the preffered choice.
