Thanks guys, sometimes I amaze myself
$55 AUS for binders and pouch but not thinking about selling overseas as yet, there is someone on the 501st producing them .
Rare earth magnets, tried two sizes and it is amazing how strong even just the 5 x 3mm are.
NO LONGER AVAILABLE
Had a great response at my first troop to my binders and was asked if I would makes some for others, so thought I should live up to my squad nickname of Q and start producing. Also had an enquiry about the pouch to hold them so I best make some of them also. Here's a few photo's of how things are progressing, up to 9 orders at my local garrison lol.
My original pair
And in the pouch
Start of pouch production
First 6 sets before sanding
A couple of request for chain instead of solid mount and also ANH Chewie binders, working on those. Trying a couple of different chains.
First run in primer
Base coat applied on first run of binders, copper coated ANH style binders done. Will need another coat then I will apply a couple of coats of clear to protect the base colour.
I have snaps, hammer, elastic, super glue, 5 min epoxy, heat glue and gun, and if all else fails I have white duct tape, have not needed any of it as yet
Looking good, I am quite slim and I am getting inspired, I do have a freind who wants me to join the rebel legion, how cool would a C3PO be . vac metallizing would be my choice if you are going to all this trouble it would be worth while in the end
There are a few different ways to attach the snaps here you can glue the nylon directly to the ABS. You should use elastic between your arms and thighs as it will alllow a little movement
Just check what elastic you are using, there are two types, as I found out lol, one does not allow very much side stretching the other is not as tight and easily stretched. You may also find that your bell elastic is just too tight, also check your arm elastic it may be too short and pulling the bells down too much. .
You will drop your money on something you think will be ok and regret later, save you money, save up a liitle more then buy an awesome armor and never look back
Just wondering what you will use for the top coat, will it be shinny as on screen. I have seen on some autormotive shows that they use a liquid chrome finish on some paint jobs, they apply several different coats and the last one it basically a wet wash. I suppose if you used something like this and went over with a few coats of a tinted yellow/gold clear paint and this would give you the gold effect.
