  1. I added some foam pieces to the inside of my trooping box, sides, ends and base, 1 inch thick foam as I had that handy. To keep some pieces in place I just added a dab of E6000. I also made soft fabric pouches for all my armor pieces to protect the paint, first out of black as I thought it wouldn't show dirt as much, (then realised the dye leaked out, no problems buffed with compound polish) then next set I made out of white polar fleece.
  2. It could but then again the CRL's are only a guide and not 100% precise, this was added to CRL's recently This document is not intended to be a detailed how-to on costume construction; rather a visual guide to be used for 501st costume approval. Information on how to construct a costume for 501st approval may be found on the respective costume detachment web forum. Personally I would love to see every piece of info in a CRL but how long would that make them
  3. At this stage a TFA cod is acceptable for basic and L2 approval but this could change depending on availability of that piece, reference material and any CRL changes
  4. Nothing better than a BBB, I hope you see yours sooner than later, fingers crossed Anovos comes through
  5. I used a heat gun, but I heated the sides not the cover strip section, I tried to make them more curved so they closed flatter. You see the two sides of yours are angled backwards. Not used the boiled water method myself, I have always used a heat gun, but with lots of practice on scraps
  6. Nice work, the DO's are just catching up on applications from the backlog of the Christmas break so please stand by, A few minor adjustments as mentioned, you could also straighten the TD as it is slanted on your belt, ridge on back of right shin not matching up equally, thighs a back at just touching, also looks like some white material in the middle of your thighs in back photo, bit hard to tell as the resolution of photos is low, may want to reduce the size of the thighs they look big from the side photo, butt plate looks to be sitting inside of them. Good luck with approval.
  7. Nice work, I'm on the skinny side and found even with trimming to the minimum sizing I also had to add some foam in places, really helps stop pieces clanking around
  8. Firstly the DO's are still catching up on applications from the Christmas break backlog so please stand by, they will be with you as soon as they can. You have a very nice build, a few things I can see are only minor adjustments (which I pointed out on your other poste ) wishing you the best of luck
  9. You will find strapping with help straightening them, I have minimum coverstrips but with my chicken legs the thighs are pretty loose on me, I did ad a little foam on the inside bottoms of the thighs to help straighten them up. Once again you are better with them being a little larger rather than too tight
  10. Hello and welcome aboard, nothing better than a BBB, words of wisdom, research is the key and measure twice and cut once, good luck with the builds
  11. There are files on Thingiverse
  12. A very nice collection indeed, just about to start some 3D print builds, I've normally been a from scratch builder but the 3D versions do cut down the work load
  13. All good we all learn I will lock this thread as no more observations are needed
  14. You would be better off posting a new thread in the EI section, there are some extra photos and details you will need to provide also, link is here for info
  15. Sometimes you think they would be better off just saying "don't know, eventually" at least then it's not a lie and people don't get upset when a delivery date comes and goes. Anovos "the one day you'll definitely maybe get your order"
  16. See how they fit on your legs once cover strips are applied, you don't want them too loose, or tight. I left a return edge on mine and never had an issue with it bitting
  17. Just little things, one hand plate is touching the forearm the other there is a gap, could bring the belt up a little, reduce gap between shoulder bells and shoulder bridges, reduce gaps around lenses on helmet, should have a small gap between belt and drop boxes, shoulder straps at back could be curved more to reduce gap between them and back plate, really just nitpicking, more for higher level acceptance, I'm sure you will be fine for basic approval
  18. All good, need to wear my glasses more often Could have just been my ISP, been inconsistent of late, seeing images fine now. You could make some minor adjustments on spacing but really doesn't look like much would hold you up for basic approval, good luck
  19. Don't seem to be able to access all your photos, I would suggest if you haven't to upload them to an online photo host then post the direct links to those photos into your thread. From those I can see, seems you have some black on the top of your boot on the left side photo, may need a dab of paint. Also a pretty big bubble on the right side cheek grey decal on your helmet.
  20. Looking much better, good luck
  21. Apart from some minor adjustments you look great, match up the forearm positions also the thighs. Could also rotate your TD down a bit, , you can see on the screen caps more detail is showing of the TD and not as much of the clips. <img src='https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/uploads/gallery/album_11/gallery_12157_11_566534.jpg' alt='ScreenShot73684.jpg' title='ScreenShot73684.jpg' data-role='theImage'> Good luck with approval
  22. Thanks Shane That's going to take a new pack unfortunately I had just squeezed in before the sandy backpacks where no longer allowed for HWT
  23. Armor is built for your size and shape, if you put on a few pounds it may become a little snug, or if you put on even more you may not fit into it at all. It's a hard plastic shell which doesn't expand
