  1. Looking much better, now just hit those screws with a little black paint
  2. Did it crack the paint or is that sink back, if the join lines had been filled thinners can eat in when it is drying. For strength and support I added 2 long rectangle pieces of ABS to mine before filling and painting, it has held up without an issue so far. (shame photobucket logo covers the image)
  3. A nice set of armor, you won't be unhappy there. Looking forward to seeing the BBB photos and a build thread in the not too distant future, good luck.
  4. If you cut the S trim a little longer than needed the pressure of the extra trim normally helps to keep the trim in place as it forces the trim sideways. If you do find you catch it while putting the helmet on and it comes of you can use some E6000 in places.
  5. Nice work, a couple of things you could do to make this really look the part. I would lower your belt a little, they normally don't cover the button. Are they pan head screws on your TD, they look like dome head. It appears on the side photos your ab and kidney plates are quite lining up, may need to adjust the strapping. Brow trim looks a little wonky. Hero version has longer straps on the holster and using 4 rivets not 2 like Stunt version. Looks like your right arm bicep needs to come up and be rotated slightly. Forearms could come down, you have a big gap between them and your gloves. A couple of adjustments and I'm sure you'll have no problems, good luck.
  6. Very hard to get a kit to fit you without a trial fitting, at least the modifications don't seem to be too scary for you, good luck and looking forward to the progress.
  7. Will be a nice Christmas present, looking forward to seeing the BBB photos
  8. You may want to read this thread https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/45858-praetorian-not-delivering-or-communicating/?tab=comments#comment-630950
  9. Thread moved. When posting images from Imgur either use the 'direct link' or you can right click on the image, then select copy and paste directly into your post. You could move your belt up a little higher. Adjust your right arm bicep so your forearm can come up a little, at the moment it is covering your hand plate. Good luck with approval
  10. You could either glue some ABS plastic behind the crack, or some fibreglass and matting, then sand a groove in the centre of the crack, add some bondo (auto filler), sand, prime then paint. You also could use ABS paste, add directly to the paste but it would also require sanding, primer and paint.
  11. I would recomend sticking with suppliers on the vetted list, you can find it in the Getting Started section. Purchase from a vetted seller and you will be sure you can have your costume 501st approved. Research is the key to this hobby so you have a little reading in front of you, good luck
  12. An anti fog spray should help, I’ve used it in motor cycle helmets before. Down the track definitely invest in a fan or two, I find one enough to keep the screen clear in hot or cold conditions, having an extra one as back up is a good idea too. I can definitely recomend Tony’s ( @ukswrath) fan kits.
  13. Nice work, coming along great
  14. Flew to the other side of Australia with my OTTK in a hard suitcase, typical ground staff must have used it as a trampoline, opened the case at the other end to find 3 cracks in the backplate. Next year I had a large Stanley box, I believe similar to the Husky, heavy duty, for my FOTK, I did have a lining of foam inside and wrapped each piece of armor with bubble wrap then in soft padded cloth so it wouldn't rub and scratch. Was fine on the way over but on the way back the box must off had a bounce or two, was hand carried out as one of the heavy duty wheels had been snapped clean off, must have dropped from a great height, was still on a high from the "Last, Last" Dreamworld event that I couldn't bring myself to open the case until I'd been home a week. Expecting the worst I ended up bitting the bullet and looked inside, to my surprise not a crack, mark or scratch on any piece. I think the extra padding and cloth is what saved it. Each flight thought I have taken my helmet as hand luggage and also had to past excess luggage on the last flight, it's amazing just how heavy these cases are. Good luck, hope you return issue free
  15. A great outcome, it's just a shame when prop makers drop the ball and go MIA, although most are not licensed and officially a business you would like to think though that they could still act a little more professional, supplying to a niche market and not communicating, the word quickly gets around
  16. You could try contacting JRS command staff to see if they can help you resolve your issues DL: [email protected], XO: [email protected]
  17. I have not personally seen this happen with black ABS I have used but I suppose it depends on how it is made. I do find when score and snappy the area snapped ends up grey/white, I found and automotive polish for black plastic and bumpers which helps to darken the light areas, not sure if it will help your issue but may be work a go. I also found with black ABS if you heat them first before cutting or bending the grey/white areas don't show as much.
  18. Congratulations trooper and welcome to the ranks
  19. Nice work, I do prefer a heat gun over water bath, there is more control but you really do have to practice before using one. I've seen a few local troopers with RS armor have issues with the shins cracking at the top due to stress opening, you can either glue some strips of ABS behind or use ABS paste, both will help it cracking further. Looking good.
  20. Ordered
  21. This would be for OT Stormtrooper not FO which is the main subject of the thread
  22. They said although he is being added to their wait list it will be at the end of that list, not slotted into an open space that was already taken. Spring - Summer was what I was told.
  23. Great news I did receive a very nice email back from them thanking me for my honesty and for forwarding your info. It is strange that in the same email 3 different delivery dates had been given, I would think you will be on the last of the shipping which should be summer but cross fingers I am wrong, hopefully not to much longer for everyone to actually see these kits
  24. Velcro does make it hard to move and bend as it has no give, also can pull off under pressure, I would advise snaps and elastic to be the way to go.
  25. Congratulations and welcome to the ranks trooper
