  1. Yes they are, from the CRL: Neck Seal Black with horizontal ribs, fitted to the wearer, and extending from the base of the neck to conceal the entire neck.
  2. I have tried both and personally I prefer the soft fabric ribbing, you tend to look down a lot around younglings and it’s more comfortable on the neck with the soft version, but others may disagree.
  3. You can find most resources for First Order troopers here Unfortunately many armor makers promised a lot but many didn't deliver, some of those are advertising still on facebook and elsewhere but until we have seen any builds completed with happy purchasers it's a bit hard to include them as vetted sellers
  4. Using a template is ideal, doesn't matter which straps you are making as the connections will always be the same at the end. I went with ABS plates for the first few builds but they are some extra work when having to heat to conform to areas that are curved, so I quickly converted to nylon, quicker to make and contours to the armor a lot better in places, can just use a solder iron to make the holes and it also seals around them. I have a container of ABS strips I use, some are curved and I use them to hold down the nylon while gluing, then just add magnets or clamps. Coming along nicely.
  5. Great work Matt, has come out awesome, if you don't mind some feedback, one thing I would suggest you adjust is your chest box, it does appear a little high and close to the helmet, if you compare with the images below the centre of the chest box appears to align with the bottom of the shoulder bells giving more room between the helmet and the chest box. Once again great work, looking forward to seeing this as a CRL. Added
  6. Hello and welcome to the forums, you are not alone a lot of people get caught with evils found on eBay, but never fear you appear to be on the right path now. Research is the key so make sure you have a look through other build threads, lots of questions have been asked by others and you can find lots of helpful answers in them. Good luck and looking forward to the progress.
  7. Nice work just a couple of things I would address to make you look the part: I would try to adjust the position of the elastic on the shoulder bells, bring the attachment for the elastic further forward so it rotates the should bells around as you have a big gap there in the front. Also have a look at the gaps between your armor, on your arms there is a lot of gap at the wrists but not much on your elbows. also one thigh is higher than the other. It appears you have the wrong screws on your TD, they should be pan heads not dome. You should really touch up the paint on your ab buttons also Good luck with approval
  8. For those in NZ seems you can access also via TVNZ https://www.tvnz.co.nz/shows/heroes-of-the-empire
  9. Nice work, good luck with approval
  10. Great to hear, should make a lot of folk happy at election time
  11. Using scrap ABS is good for getting in to areas that has glue residue, you will find after some use the ABS gets blunt, just cut to a point and continue. For larger areas I just rub with my thumb.
  12. Looks like you’ll need to change out those TD screws, the ones you have are dome head, should be pan heads
  13. Sounds good, here's a couple of reference pics
  14. Phasma costume which was on display From TLJ
  15. Have a look at Tony's Anovos build, he got his to sit nicely, it may help to get yours sitting a little closer
  16. Just with your ab buttons it wouldn't hurt to try to round them off a little more, some are a little raggedy around the edges and some are rather larger, using a toothpick can help remove any paint. As a reference
  17. A really great go to thread for information and assembly is Tony's (ukswrath) Anovos build which you can find here. He has step by step guides which you will find of help.
  18. Correct, if you read the section next to the color swatches it has name of color and where used
  19. Congratulations once again and welcome to the ranks trooper
  20. Or even sashachu who is also a deputy deployment officer
