  3. Nice work on the fixes, looks like most RS have a slight gap under the front, I would think it's a trade off between getting the right angle as well as not too much of a gap under the front The back could come up a little Here are a couple of L3 RS Props sniper plates for comparison
  4. Hello and welcome to the forum, this thread has a lot of useful information Bonjour et bienvenue sur le forum, ce fil contient de nombreuses informations utiles
  5. You'll notice in both images the gap between the end caps and panel are approximately the same, something to watch out for
  6. Many don't heat the armor before drilling, if you go slow and not too much pressure you should be fine drilling the holes, having a support piece of plastic glued behind can help stop cracking. Many of us use E6000 so we don't have issues with the armor, although a I recall a few people have had issues with nickel plated snaps and E6000, I myself have never had any distortion using E6000 and any brand of snap I have purchased With anything it's always best to trial first, glues or heat you need to have a little experience before attacking the armor straight on

  9. I stopped using Rustloeum for blasters and other props, too many issues with the paints but I see others don't have as many, I thought it may also be shelf life of the paint, it was never consistent out of the can either from one can to another, even shaking for 10 minutes didn't do a thing.
  10. Looking forward to seeing your build very soon. I use compression shirt and pants, great for warm troops as it tends to keep me a lot cooler. For really cold troops I've used men's long sleeved tee and ladies legging pants.
  11. Just a couple of suggestions/notes before the DO's get here : You may want to add another coat of paint to your ab/kidney rivets, also to the screws on our TD as there is quite a lot missing on those Blaster handle/grip shouldn't have any weathering as they where black plastic (as where the T-tracks) Ideally the sniper plate should follow the angle of the shin behind Just watch tightening our belt too much, looks like you may have a little bit of flaring/overlap with the kidney on the sides. Having tabs behind can help solve this and keeps the pieces aligned Good luck trooper
  12. I have two either end of the shoulder bell to shoulder strap elastic, also two on the front and rear of the shoulder straps chest/backplate. Although these are not a requirement they do take a lot of strain, one snap each end is perfectly fine for approval though. If you also double over the elastic it will give you a nice strong strap which shouldn't pull sideways much
  13. Nice work trooper, just a few suggestions before the DO's get here: Looks like your armor is touching in a few places, you could bring your biceps up a little and then even out the spacing at your elbows and wrists. Thighs could also come up a bit which would give you more room at the knees. You straighten the edges of your ab plates as they are a little messy, block of wood with sandpaper wrapped around would give you nice straight sides, also remove excess glue You have some excess glue in some other areas, here is one, easy to remove with a piece of plastic scrap, just rub along the edge and peel away You have quite a lot of material on the bottom of your thigh ammo strip which could be trimmed off Excess glue on the sides of your TD panel There is quite a lot of excess material around the lenses which you could trim a little more Could you also post up a few other photos: Underside of your TD showing brackets and screws Inside connectors/rivets of your thigh ammo strips Close up of ab/kidney side rivets Close up of screen lenses, perhaps with light behind works best Closer photo of your frown/teeth area Good luck with approval trooper
  14. Crinkling of paint can be due to a few things, too much paint, paint underneath not fully dry or paint reaction with a different brand/make of paint. This is why I prefer automotive acrylic paint, dries very quickly and can be cut and polished. Looks good from a distance, great to see you persevered
  15. I would advise double snaps on the shoulder straps and to shoulder bells, I've lost a couple over the years and having a spare there has saved me from missing out on a troop
  16. I've seen a couple of people add the actual brackets with very loose elastic so there is no actual strain on them, they then use the snap and elastic method and this does all the hard work, it's double the work but gives you the screen accurate look without the worry of cracking any plastic. Leaving some return edge is fine but what you have is a little too much and I can see it digging into you with movement. Another few references

  18. I use gel superglue and zip kicker for joining 3D parts, it's pretty solid and fills spaces, I'm not sure I'd use it on ABS or PVC plastic though, it can bloom and leave a cloud of white stain but if it works for you all good
  19. Hello and welcome aboard, here is a great thread you may find useful. Good luck and hope to see a build thread from you soono

  22. Nice work trooper, just a couple of suggestions before the DO's get here. Make sure you have someone check your TD when you kit up next, also appears you right glove is not tucked in all the way Could do with another coat of paint on your side rivets Belt boxes aren't quite at the end of the plastic belt Elastic straps over the shoulder straps should be on the rear Angle on the side of the sniper plate should mimic the angle on the shin behind Your belt corners are a little big and they should meet with the edge of the fabric belt, yours looks a little larger Nice work, good luck with approval
