  1. Very cool, nice work, looks great
  2. At this stage discussion has stalled, perhaps the bump to the thread will get it going again. With regards to the positioning of these well that comes down to research, there are quite a few images in this thread showing positioning and you can't just say one position is for one particular trooper, we see many holding different blasters with differently placed details in many scenes if not the same scene, take Han for example. Research is the key, you can find some great stills from the movies here if you'd like to research further.
  3. On both inside sides of each thigh, I found I didn't need any on the front as the thigh elastic holds it nicely.
  4. Looks just like mine, I have foam on both insides of the thighs to keep them central and evens out the gap, you will find the strapping on the thigh at the front will keep them nicely positioned, I think go with what you have and and get an overall look once fully kitted up, you can always take some more off later (if using E6000), but very hard to put material back on
  5. Nice work, just a couple of things, you could bring your belt up at the back as it is angling down. You could remove the excess clip material sticking out under your belt. I would also add some foam behind your sniper plate to hopefully push it forward away from your knee, it could catch on your thigh. Good luck with approval
  6. I have a couple of different balaclavas, I don't wear them all the time and it depends on which helmet and which costume. I do find the thinner material type do keep you a lot cooler.
  7. So you have full belt Angled belt and thinner side, does not appear to have drop box overhang Shorter belt sides, no cut corner, or bent behind, with drop box overhang, cod wider than center belt section But also angled belt behind the last center belt boxes so much shorter than the above image and overhang of drop box. This shorter front center belt section could have been cut this way to follow the sides of the cod as the cod height appears a lot shorter than on other troopers. Cod shorter than center belt section And another shorter sides of the belt, drop box overhang and shorter center belt area with angled cut under last box. Cod larger than center belt section.
  8. Here's an image from The Mandalorian, which used the same R1 armor, could even be the same one as we see pictured above as it also has the missing or bent corner of the center belt. You can see the cod behind is right up against the thinner cut belt. Looks like some tape was added on the sides of the belt too just behind the drop box, the belt itself would have taken a pounding due to many troopers seen running in R1, thigh thighs smashing into the belt I guess something has to give
  9. The trooper on the left doesn't appear to have the cut corners on the center belt, but this may have just been bent under, the thinner section appears to go all the way behind the center belt area, which could have been made this was so the cod was brought up higher, for shorter people, it then goes wider at the start or behind the drop boxes and is the same width of the back of the belt.
  10. I found with my skinny legs I had to add some foam into my thigh armor, you can only go so small until the armor starts looking too skinny, there is a balance between look and fit. Definitely suit up before committing to trimming too much, easier to trim more off later but hard to put back on
  11. I find these brackets and position does restrict how much pull the elastic has, adding some stronger elastic (or doubled over) and snaps may help but I don't think it will help your backplate unless you can get your cod/butt lifted. Unfortunately a lot of armor is not made to fit those above 6' and it's very difficult to make it fit, if you can't get any upward movement from you cod/butt you may have to look at selling this kit and going for one which does accommodate the taller trooper, RT mod and AM would suit you better.
  12. Oh happy days, that excited feeling, then the panic sets in, "Where do I start", looking forward to seeing your build, good luck
  13. Compare these two images and you will see the biceps sit a lot lower in ESB Some cool info here on some of the other differences
  14. Looking forward to seeing you back at it soon
  15. Also when it comes to adding your shoulder straps, screen suits on the front are spaced 1 large tab and 4 to 5 smaller tabs on the chest plate, (some makers of armor won't allow for this though). On the rear they didn't actually have a large tab, (although you can leave the large tab for all levels of approval), it's just more screen accurate. Some cut the rear large tab in half or cut the whole tab off, many just leave it there as is.
  16. You may be able to come up a bit on the back plate as it is overlapping in this image, you also have a big gap between the neck and backplate, a lot of the time it comes down to tweaking the strapping
  17. I doubled over the mesh, one piece didn't seem enough to me. I taped in place and added a few dabs of black silicon in places to hold it, hasn't come loose as yet
  18. ESB do have slightly lower biceps than ANH, if you think your strapping is tight enough you can leave were they are, I only mention as they can get jammed together if they come out and overlap.
  19. I'm 5 11" and found I'm just in the comfort zone for gaps, anything over things get harder. If possible can you pull the ab and butt plates up or is it snug around your frank and beans (pillar and stones) , if you do any any room there to come up it would help.
  20. Nice work, looking the part now. You could pull up your biceps just a little as they are just on the edge of popping out, also watch the heights of the thighs, they should match. Not long now
  21. Rebel scum, I mean, that sounds great a rebel costume You do find was you enter this costuming lark you can get bitten by the bug, looking forward to seeing the progress, good luck
  22. Soldering iron definitely helps to stop fraying around the hole too.
  23. I mainly use 3 different tips, I use 3 dremels as I hate swapping them out when I'm in the groove Drum roller Deburring Quick change cutting disk I used all 3 when trimming a resin helmet BUT I also had to use some small files and sandpaper in harder to get in cormers
  24. With most versions of Stormtrooper there can be some on screen oddities, this could be because of fit or size of someone or Stunt/Hero versions, some of the details you mentioned have been noticed but since they are not the generally overall look of most of the onscreen seen Stormtroopers those details would not have been taken as normal, it's a bit like "Mr No Stripes" in ANH. It's entirely up to our DO's if they would allow these differences in the higher levels @justjoseph63 @TKSpartan, who may jump in on this thread
