  1. Indeed, real life has to come first, your kit will be ready waiting for when you have a little more time
  2. Congratulations and welcome to the ranks trooper
  3. May not have been hot enough, was there any bend to them once heated. You also need to bend more than required as when cooled they will relax a little.
  4. There is some research needed in this hobby.
  5. Run like the wind, then head to the Getting Started section and read this thread
  6. Appears the DLT19 X are using a generic image in most of the CRLs, here is the biker scout crl image
  7. Base MG34 had no wires they were added with the T track for the DLT19. Here are the battlefront versions and you can make out the wire on both UKG are one of the garrisons with higher accuracy than a lot of others so no doubt if it's on their forum it's going to be needed for basic approval
  8. Colin doesn't mention if it was a GML block he may have found this with his own research/knowledge This is true and the CRL's are just a guide for those making the costume as well as GML's use and some are a little stricter than others, but that's if it was a GML block. Personally I'm with Dan as a GML I wouldn't block for basic approval, but that's not to say others may
  9. I use dish liquid with all wet and dry sandpaper, old panel beater/painters trick
  10. I normally start with a 180 wet and dry and use water with a little dish liquid in, helps the paper to glide and doesn't block as fast. It does take some time to get it smooth, then you can go through other grades, 240, 400, 600 and I finish with a 1200. You then can either compound and polish or you may need to touch up with paint, some ABS paste won't dry completely the same color and can also leave small air holes, there you would need to add a little filler/bondo then prime and paint.
  11. It's not actually a CRL requirement DLT-19 Heavy Blaster Rifle Based on a real or replica MG-34 machine gun. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): A DLT-19 is an MG-34 with T-tracks on the barrel, ejection port cover added, and a small disk on left side.
  12. Many of us go through the itchy fingers stage after building and are bitten by the building bug. If you are looking for another TK you can find information in the Getting Started section. For other costumes that don't fall under FISD you will need to check which detachment they belong with for research, is is a full list of costumes https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:CRLbyname Shadow trooper falls under Spec Ops Incinerator trooper be aware there will be two versions soon, the standard version and Rogue One version, both use different armor so you will need to do some research on those Once approved you can request access here then you will be able to see the 501st only sections of our forum. Also once approved you can sign up on the 501st legion forums, there you do find some costumes up for sale, very rare kits, but will also give you access to merchandise https://www.501st.com/forum/
  13. Lets hope some do actually get their outstanding orders filled.
  14. Nice gap there, also depends on how your knee armor sits as well so make sure you check the baps between thighs and shins
  15. Also contact your local garrison, when you have an approvable costume you need to submit photos to your GML (garrison membership liaison) you can find a list of garrisons here https://www.501st.com/members/displayUnits.php For your TK number you get to pick 5 sets of numbers, normally your first picked is what you are approved with, it that one has been taken they move on to the next, for remaining TKID numbers you can check this list https://www.501st.com/members/search_avail_ids.php Good luck with your research
  16. Lots of build threads of troopers over 6' so it's not impossible, we have a few locally, AM or RT do fit the taller trooper.
  17. Nice work, you will find with some armor you may need to trim between some of the pieces, your cod is sitting very low over your thighs but to bring the ab up you will need to reduce the length of the back pieces or they will overlap. Here a few builds you may want to look at with info on how to reduce armor pieces. https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/38416-crickets-rs-stunt-build-for-the-vertically-challenged/ https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/38842-fragarocks-rs-stunt-build-not-to-scale/ https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/42868-sha-shas-wtf-anh-stunt-build-complete/
  18. Wouldnt hurt to check with your GML (garrison membership liaison) some are a little stricter than others, it may save you some disappointment later, or they may not give a hoot But yes will need modification for higher levels
  19. They wait is unbearable, but lots of time to do your research, perhaps a blaster build or two, prepare a work space, reference material and tools. Soon it will BBB time and then the panic sets in
  20. There is no actual size listed and no clear images, most use a black coated wire, here is a replica which some have been using as a reference
  21. Hello and welcome, head to the Getting Started section full of info. Also a great thread full of helpful links Look forward to seeing a build thread from you soon, good luck
