You have to watch some makes of boots as the ankles are just too low and will come out of the shin when walking. Most go for the Keeptrooping boots these days. There are cheaper boots available on Ebay and other sites but do come with stitching on the inner sides ok for basic approval but not for higher levels. NOTE not many show you the inner sides of the boots just for the reason of the extra stitching Great references here on original boots

Unfortunately you can get a air holes due to the paste curing and heat build up. It is definitely looking better, using a block of wood with sandpaper wrapped around can help to take down any high spots. Depending on the final outcome some do apply some paint to match the armor better, it's a case of trying to mix a shade that best matches your armor.

Just comparing with a few other troops. Dark troopers appear flat Live action droid also flat Even officer appears flat Live action officer appears embroidered (thicker appearance) We could also take this approach, flat vinyl or paint L3 for Rebels and if we get a live action we ask for embroidered (dependant on references of course) but yes I agree for basic vinyl, paint or embroidered should all be fine.

Personally I think the flatter appearance looks better, embroidered looks too lumpy and doesn't match the references I see someone offering flat rubber patches on etsytoo but they look too thick I would think vinyl would be the way to go for L3

If he's building from scratch you could also mention the closure is different to the ANH style, no rivets and goes under the pauldron not on top and is thin strap not rounded.

Very hard to say, it just depends on color, there are many shades of white we see depending on maker but there is always the option of touching up with paint, some do this with there OTTK when adding side shims.

At this stage they are the only one selling "ready to wear" armor, albeit I don't think I've seen any photos so far of what their "ready to wear" kit looks like. You may still need to make some adjustments as well as the upgrades for legion approval. As always check with your GML (garrison membership liaison) as they will be the ones overseeing your costume submission.

Just a tip but if you use white elastic for the shins it isn't as noticeable if the accidently open and the elastic is seen White is also screen accurate

Should really apply in thin coats and build up to what is required, it helps to dry fully. Sanding ABS paste is not a quick process, sanding wet will help our sandpaper last longer (if using wet and dry sandpaper) also wrapping around a small piece of wood helps to sand down high spots. Sorry to hear this, unfortunately many of the kits don't really go over 6', some makers do offer longer shins but these don't help other areas. For the taller trooper AM (Daves Darkside Depot) is a better fit.

Hello and welcome to the forum, you may want to speak with your GML (garrison membership liaison) it is he/she/they/them who will ultimately review your costume for legion approval. You would be required to make any changes outlined in the CRL (costume reference library) because of the molded edges on the armor the ROTJ version would be it's closest match, you would however need a new helmet as the Rubies is not approvable, @sskunky CFO does a nice helmet I have not seen a Rubies modified for legion approval for some years now, most threads are over 10 years old

I'd say you are just over the ideal height for the kit which will require some compromising, ie snug fitting. Biggest issue firstly is getting your chest to stay over the abdomen, you may need tighter strapping so it doesn't pop behind when you bend, once you have that set see how everything else is looking.
