Your helmet will need a little work: Remove some of the grey from the mouth area. You may also want to reposition the brow trim, angles downwards. Helmet Frown is painted gray and does not leave the teeth area. A total of 8 cut outs in the teeth area of the frown are present. Hovi tips need larger wire. Also paint white inside and white on the rim 1. Hovi tip rims and insides must be white or painted white on the insides. 2. Screen must be a wide mesh. 3. Screen should be attached toward the tip and not recessed. Note: These are also known as Hovi-mic tips. That name derives from the originals, which had Hovi Mix PA2 embossed on them. Looks like you may have shins on the wrong sides, should close outside over inside. Normally some return edge is left but can be trimmed if you need it. Looks like your shins aren't closing flat, you may need to add some heat to get the cover strip to lay flatter when closed

Looking good (when you bring those thighs up ) Just a couple of things: You have a gap between your kidney and posterior, also the TD clips can be seen so you may want to trim the excess from the clips. Can you reduce your padding in the helmet as it's sitting up a bit. Shoulder straps not sitting straight on your backplate, elastic loops usually fix this if you don't have them. One thing that does stand out is the angle of your left rear cover strip on the thigh, compare with your right.

Tim’s first time build (RS Prop Masters ESB TK)
gmrhodes13 replied to TrickyT81's topic in ESB Build Threads
Roger that, the new ones look a little darker grey than green but according to the CRL: Lenses are a flat smoke or green sufficiently dark enough to obscure the costumer's eyes. So you should be fine -

Need Help Ask the Deployment Officers Advance to 1500 Advanced Tactics Awards Newsletter Editor Staff List 2023 Follow FISD Greetings one and all to the August edition Well it finally happened, just after the last newsletter went live we received the approval for FISD's latest costume, the Artillery trooper, as seen in the Mandalorian! Congratulations go to Honeymustard TK-22540 (Logan Hole) of the Wisconsin Garrison for his great work and assistance in allowing us to add this great costume to the detachments growing library of colourful TK's ANH Hero upgrade In our ongoing quest to improve our existing CRL's the ANH Hero has received some treatment too. The space pack is now officially part of this CRL, and you guessed it, it will remain on the ANH stunt CRL as well. Recent discussions had the staff looking at some readily available behind the scenes images of the actor suiting up for the scene where you see 2 TK's external to the Death Star standing buy a gunnery turret. It is clearly seen he was wearing a Hero version of the TK costume, so staff voted to have it added where it belonged but to also keep it in the current Stunt CRL. This is a win for all. Rogue One TK update Since this CRL's inception, the incorrect type of gloves have been acceptable. We all know the ANH style rubber gloves were never used for this costume, so they are now no longer acceptable from basic level up. We have left Nomex and leather gloves as the basic option as they are closer to the First Order TK gloves but in all black. Of course you can have the accurate gloves at basic as well if you like. This was missed on the last major overhaul, but is finally as it should be. Yes I have harped on about the Commander Pyre CRL for a long time now, but we are getting close now. I recently spoke with the member (Dino) currently refining this costume and he has booked a photo session to get the last 4 photos done required to get this CRL complete for LMO review. I promise the next time you hear about it from me will be to announce it as green lit and open to legion. Don't forget our latest campaign Advance to 1500! If you have a TK and are considering the next level of approval, then check out our Expert Infantry program. Generally its only a few inexpensive mods to get you a step closer to screen accurate, you get a nice banner on your forum side bar, pride in the fact you reached a mile stone, and further more you help the detachment reach our milestone of more troopers looking the best they can. ANH Hero Update Recently we had a discussion and ran a members Poll on making a change to the OT ANH Stunt and Hero CRL's. After analysis of some old behind the scenes images, it was realised that the Space pack as seen in the film was actually worn with the hero version of this costume. The Poll asked should the Pack be removed from the ANH Stunt CRL and added to the Hero, or should it be allowed on both. The results were for the later so now we have officially added the Space pack to the ANH Hero so you can wear it with either of these costumes. There are a few minor stipulation as there already were in the Stunt CRL so it cant be worn worn with certain other accessories. The Space Pack falls under the accessories section and reads as below. New CRL's currently under construction/completed
gmrhodes13 replied to Sly11's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Appears the game armor has U trim around it much like many other game version TK's, they also have a lot of weathering, no button covers on plastic belt, fabric belt appears to be ROTJ style. This one has come up in conversation a few times but nobody has gone through with the costume, supply all photos require or helped with CRL creation. You could discuss it further with our DL Andrew @Sly11 -

Looks green to me, shouldn't be an issue -
You have references showing it can be a little shorter, I wouldn't worry about. Should be ok all the way to L3

You may want to check the measurements of your TD caps and gap between caps and control panel A pencil is much better for marking plastic prior to trimming Some great tutorials on helmets Some references

Legacy FemTK Backplate - Version B
gmrhodes13 replied to Eleanor's topic in Legacy Stormtrooper (Joker Squad)
Hello and welcome, ultimately it would be your GML approving the armor so I would check with them first, they do have some leeway, some are stricter than others, there is a CRL image for the B type and I would think (as I am a GML) they would use this reference below. BUT in saying that if you can provide more research material proving it should be different that would be taken into consideration. I would think all of the areas are square/rectangular apart from the two top right circles. It looks from my basic research the B version backplate is from the comics, depending on which scene the details change a little, I don't think correct details was high on the priority list Two ways to tackle the backplate would be: 1 ABS sheets, cut, layer, glue, dremel, sharp knife, files to get in the corners 2 3D print, a lot of pieces props are printed these days so if you can find someone who can design the piece I would go that route. As for details it would be a case of going through the comic references, you can download Star Wars: Legacy comics here https://light.getcomics.info/Request/Dark Horse/Star Wars/Star Wars - Legacy (00 - 50 %2B War (01 - 06)) (2006 - 2011) GetComics.INFO.zip You can also view online here https://readallcomics.com/star-wars-legends-legacy-epic-collection-tpb-1-part-2/ Research is the key and the more references you have the better outcome you should have. -

Looking to Build an Approvable TK
gmrhodes13 replied to Tilheyra's topic in New Member Introductions
The issue with a Shock Trooper is the game is based of a ROTJ stormtrooper although the helmet is ANH, there are some differences between ANH/ESB and a Shock Trooper, it's mainly for EIB or Centurion but to build it correctly some changes should be noted from the start of the build. You may also want to check with your GML (garrison membership liaison) as some can be stricter on base approval. Here's just a few items ANH/ESB is butt joined with covers strips, Shock Trooper is OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Overlap construction must be used. Butt joints and cover strips are not allowed. Butt joined ANH/ESB/HWT Overlapped - Shock Trooper/ROTJ Shoulder Armor No elastic around the bicep is present. Shoulder Straps OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Only 4 ridges of the shoulder straps overlap the chest plate. The front of the shoulder straps do not have a wide flat area only small ridges. Armor A white flexible U shaped gasket or molded lip shall be present around all edges. -
There should be no issues, measurements given are a general guide and being a few mm difference should be fine. The top rivets are slightly at different positions in this reference.

gmrhodes13 replied to Tilheyra's topic in Other Non-Approved Star Wars Costumes
Coming along well -
The only issue would be your elastic could be seen from the side if the sides open and they will look in the wrong position if you have them lower. Although some have been approved like that, here's an example of using two straps between the rivets The rivets you have should be fine to add just snaps too, no snap plate, I did the same thing with the cod. Here's how ukswrath did his, you can do this to the ab/kidney also 4c. Take a split rivet and cut it down. Test fit the rivet to the male snap.
-
Some add a little heat so they can twist the sniper plate in line with the shin, you can see here the sniper plate is angled down You can also trim some of the inner corner
-
You can modify an ANH to ESB, here's mine L3 approved Screen used OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Folding stock (does not need to function). No ammo counter shall be present. D-ring mounted on the rear. Sterling based blasters have the correct M-38 or M-19 style scope. The M-19 scope is preferred. No power cylinders on the magazine housing. Scratch-built, resin cast, Hyperfirm rubber cast blasters shall have a total of 6 T-tracks on blaster (leaving the lowest row on the magazine housing side uncovered). If using the Hasbro E11 toy blaster, it is modified to have the correct number of T-tracks (6 total), with a lower row of open vent holes on the magazine housing side. This is accomplished by covering the pre-existing rows of holes with T-tracks, then grinding off the lower integrated T-track on the magazine housing side, and drilling a new row of holes in its place. 3D printed blasters can not contain visible print lines and must be sanded smooth for a more realistic appearance.
-
Many purchase extra items so they can do other versions, not a great deal of difference BUT helmet is not just the teeth, only 3 ear bumps and 2 screws. This is a great comparison https://drive.google.com/file/d/10tEVteIreh6AHMogW010cuH_Bf8TBfU6/view You could also go ESB with a few other different pieces Three costumes in one is obtainable
-
You don't have rivets on the sniper plate unless it's for ROTJ version, some GML's won't approve if you add rivets even at base level. I would glue in case you wish to sell the armor in the future. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Sniper knee plate must be aligned with the ridges on the shin. Sniper knee plate must not have visible rivets or fasteners attaching it to the shin. E6000 glue, make sure you rough up both areas with sandpaper to help the glue grip. A combination of clamps and tape can help keep it in postion while the glue dries. NOTE: For a more screen accurate look, it is suggested that the top of the rear ridge of the sniper plate be aligned with the top ridge of the calf. Also note that the sides are angled rather than curved.
