  1. Yes, Wal-Mart sells E-6000 it's usually in the craft section, and it's generally cheaper than at stores like JoAnns.
  2. I'd have to assume that the "real" Stormtroopers were something like us. After a while you can look at someone in armor, helmet on, and know who it is.
  3. -------------
  4. Sorry to hear about the problems with Darth Reallife, but you've been a great example of troopers helping troopers.
  5. I've thought about this mod, but it really doesn't seem worth the effort
  6. This weekend is a mixture of celebrating my wife and I's 5 year anniversary and a staff meeting for a local con (www.shevacon.org Shameless plug )
  7. It's still 501st acceptable, however it's not acceptable for EIB. You really are better off finding a better helmet though, you'll look better, feel better and be happier.
  8. Where was this thread last week when I was looking for anti-fog stuff <_< I was only able to wear my glasses under my FX helmet and that thing was so big there was plenty of room for the air to circulate and I never had a problem with the lenses fogging up.
  9. AP is top notch armor. Don't forget to sign up to the Garrison Tyranus forums, if you haven't already. There are lots of great troopers in the area. www.va501st.com/forum We have a great community here to help each other, why not head over and introduce yourself.
  10. Not much this weekend, except couch surfing while trying to get over a cold. Went to a friend's birthday dinner and bowling last night, and watched the Dodgers sweep the Cardinals
  11. Pictures are working for me too, bucket looks good.
  12. Thank you for the info. I've always wondered about the story behind those disney suits.
  13. Even though I don't recommend using the bathroom in armor (it really is more complicated than it seems, I had to learn the hard way), cutting the cod does help for some freedom of movement and adjustment.
  14. I thought only the ANH EIB standards required the cylinders and counter setup on the blaster.
  15. Members can choose how much of there info is public, that could be some of them as well.
  16. The EVO Trooper is from Force Unleashed. Is this who you were referring to http://www.rebelscum.com/halloween/2008/image62.asp. This is from last year's Rebelscum.com costume contest
  17. The majority of costumes and props seen in Fanboys were donated by the local 501st groups. In fact, they even helped make some of the Star Trek costumes too.
  18. E6000 should hold it, if you glued both sides.
  19. If you need to undo E6000 put it in the freezer. A few hours in there, and it should be enough that you can pull it apart. You will still have to pull... CAREFULLY, you can damage the plastic. An Exacto Knife will be your friend here. The E6000 tends to hold it's elasticity, but the knife will help. Go slow and it should come apart.
  20. It helps to go up a half-size at least because you will probably want to put in some kind of liner or padding.
  21. Found these at Wal-Mart last night as well, $4.96. I'm thinking about picking up a pair for my eventual EIB application, I'm not sure if my current gloves would pass.
  22. If you want something that you can fit glasses under, you will probably not have luck with the standard accurate sized helmets from TE2, AP, ATA, MRCE, etc. There is however some accurate styled helmets that are scaled up slightly. RT-Mod makes one as well as the ANH v2.5. You will probably want to stay away from the FX, yes it's the largest, but it's also the least accurate. I feel your pain, being a glasses-wearing-melon-headed trooper myself
  23. Garter belt method. Hang the straps off the belt, I have a strap in the front and one in the back. Currently I'm using velcro, but I plan on changing that to snaps.
  24. Natural weathering is all the best. After a few troops when you are de-suiting you'll notice all kinds of weird marks. It will look just like the movies. Now you can go 100% authentic and use gaffers tape, get some nice cracks going, etc.
  25. Only issue I can see is the height, you want to make sure they wont be popping out of the bottom of your calves.
