  1. Seems good. Since it's a 1 piece, do they have a "bathroom option"?
  2. I actually used 3 different glues on my suit -had bad luck with CA glue, simply did not hold (I think I bought the wrong kind) -ABS Glue, works okey, but doesn't seem to hold under stress, kind of a mess to work with. -E6000, works great, has a good flex to it, pretty easy to work with. Only drawback I've found is it seems to take a full 24 hours to cure My opinion is E6000.
  3. STAY AWAY!!!! Those look to be coming from the worst of the worst out there. Starfortress is bad news, just stay away.
  4. If you feel the urge.. I say go for it. You wont lose anything by trying, and you might just gain something
  5. Some great info there. When you get a set of boots a WIP thread would help a lot of people
  6. Were you using any kind of accelerant? Anything painted? I've used E6000 with snaps a lot and never had an issue. Sounds like some kind of reaction happened. Where was the damage located?
  7. Are you planning on modeling it after a particular costume?
  8. I tried glueing my handplates to the straps with Gorilla Glue, but the elastic stretched too much and the glue wouldn't hold. I riveted the strap to a piece of abs and glued that to the hand plate.
  9. Hijacking a thread here. I've got a question on shimming and EIB standards. I trimmed down my FX barrel thighs to a better, more tapered fit. Only problems is that I was a bit overzealous and trimmed them too small. Unfortunately, new thighs are not yet in the budget. I've got some of the plastic material left over that I used for filling my side-gaps. Would this affect EIB status?
  10. A thought occured to me about that one trooper in the carbon freezing chamber shot. Could it be a shot that was filmed much later in the production, possibly after the principal photography had wrapped? They could have already started gearing up for ROTJ.
  11. My first thought at looking at the helmet was a DL recast. The DL tends to have it's own set of wonkyness, seems similar to that helmet.
  12. Got the padding and everything sorted. Looks like the helmet is officially finished Did a quick test fitting to see how it all goes together.
  13. It's actually screen accurate to ANH (not sure about ESB and ROTJ) for the helmet and armor to not be exact color matches. Personally, i think close enough is good. Most people wont notice.
  14. Trim arrived today from TM, and I'm a very happy trooper Having a little bit of fun
  15. Though it can be fun if you're like me and don't like your neighbors and you do all of your armor mods at 2am
  16. Wow, harder than I thought. Kind of felt like I was back in school
  17. Someone should contact the makers, get them to re-film it with proper armor.
  18. Looks like some kind of rocket launcher deal. In reality it looks like those oversized "rocket firing" rifles they pack in with toys like the Clone Wars figures.
  19. If you feel you can do it, then I say go for it. I know for me and my limited paint skills, it wouldn't work and would probably make the whole thing overly complicated.
  20. Very cool contest.. I'll see what I can come up with.
  21. I feel your pain. I got fired twice last year! Both crummy jobs that I was glad to be rid of, you'll find something and be back on your feet. We will be here as well.
  22. Thanks to my wife's steady hand, I've got the final paint details on the earcaps. Can you see the bad spot? I'm not sure if it really needs to be fixed because you can't see it, even in person and up close. I'm just waiting on the accurate brow trim from TM, and some padding.
  23. I posted something similar to this on the Legion forums, but I wanted to post something here too. Frankly, I'm rather upset and disappointed by how much this debate has turned into a personal attack. Just speaking for myself, I know if I had moved to the area or whatnot, I might have gone through similar steps to see what exactly the local firearm laws were and to seek an exception based on precedent for the Legion members. Now, were some mistakes made? Probably, but "To err is to be human, forgiveness divine" It's a terrible situation, but to be honest, it was inevitable. The local members knew the laws and knew that they were openly breaking them. All it would have taken was one phone call from an overly nervous or paranoid person, and they would've been in the same situation.
