  1. This is what I did for my scope if you were interested, it's on the resin kit though and not a Hyperfirm (I wish I could have one!). You might need to do some "reverse" weathering on it to put some black back. The thing you need to be aware of big time is that there's different shades of black and you should test it out first. Also painting on rubber is tough, before painting I would give that section a bit of a wash with warm soapy water to get rid of any potential mould grease.
  2. That's an easy fix at homedepot. You can just grab some welder lenses.
  3. You gotta do what you gotta do!
  4. Pictures or it's like it never happened!
  5. Ooh. Nice hyperfirm. Scope seems super brassy, getting it to be of equal weathering as the gun itself might be a good idea - personal opinion only.
  6. Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene is more flexible than PVC but because of that it doesn't take to gluing as well and can deform with extreme heat. ie. Leaving your armour in the car in the summer. But in most cases ABS is better suited to deal with thermal expansion. Poly-Vinyl Chloride is generally pressure treated and a bit more durable than ABS in normal temperatures. But because of the variety of PVC out there it really depends what type of PVC the maker uses. In extreme heat, PVC can potentially be less resistant to thermal expansion. The reality is that under most "normal use". I don't think there'll be a huge difference between the two. At least from a material standpoint. I don't know how it would apply to doing "pulls" anyone know?
  7. You can do returns via mail for shipping I think so you're not totally out if it doesn't fit.
  8. I love my Eastbay. Makes me feel naked, erm .... I mean cool when a breeze hits me. For the price, it's just killer.
  9. Hey Derrek, if you're in for the "long game" I would just get one of the untrimmed kits here and go with that. The dollars you will spend on making that suit work with new lid etc. (and things that really just can't be changed ie. Sharpness of pulls) will be pretty much the same as building it yourself with a good kit on here. It's not worth it or the time. You said you want to go with RT-Mod. I'd say save up a little longer and just get RT-Mod bro.
  10. Javier - Mark is very responsive. He's hardly here on FISD. Almost no chance he would read your post. Best to email him like Vern said.
  11. You betcha! I'll be hanging out at Scotty's and stuff from Weds to Sunday noon. I'll keep an eye out for you guys.
  12. I have no chance to do this with my melon... haha.
  13. No, no you're not.
  14. Hi Mike welcome! - now shouldn't you be building something for my sister right now? LOL just kidding brother! Welcome to the Dark Side!
  15. One of my goals in life is to surf in Hawaii. That would be so awesome. It's so far from Toronto though. Sigh. I've been to Mexico a few times but Hawaii just has that mystique about it (in my mind).
  16. Hey Charles here's a thought that you might want to consider. I know that some prefer not to have the battery enclosure. But given the level of moisture in the lid etc. (and having an on/off switch) you may want to consider getting those. I'll show you when I see you in a couple of weeks.
  17. So close now I can smell the warm ABS

  18. Woohoo another AP build. I will be watching closely.
  19. Well done Jason - I had no doubts!
  20. Btw Charles that reticule thing is now officially called the "Charles mod" ... haha And also Andrea found out I have a fear of snapping hair elastics...
  21. Must refrain from sexual comments ... too easy
  22. Yeah, the TKboots go up high anyways into the shins so you can pretty much where whatever socks you want.
  23. Hey Charles if you find something that works let me know cause I could use some rivets as well.
  24. Snaps are better for storage? Otherwise you wont beable to stack your armour.
  25. I think we will ... I think we will!
