  1. Hi all, I've been shopping for neck seals and been looking at a couple (Ladysewforus vs. Trooperbay). Just wondering what people's opinions/experiences are of either neck seals. (Note, I haven't been able to get a hold of Debbi, does anyone know if she is still making neck seals?) Thanks everyone!
  2. I can't really comment on it yet because I haven't received it but I did quite a bit of research and I decided that the Aker + iComm combo seems to be pretty good. Should be getting it next week and will let you chaps know.
  3. Yup just ordered some TKboots and they are on the way to me! Anyone have the Trooperbay neckseals? If so, how are they?
  4. Jealous! I wish we could get hyperfirms over here in Canada. Theoretically, it would be much better for trooping, droping on the floor, and kids.
  5. Hi there, not sure if this is the right place on the forums but ... I haven't got my armour yet but actively buying stuff left and right (my Visa is throwing up on me right now) with the hopes of going for EIB status after I get my TK. In the meantime, I was wondering if there are any Canadians within the Greater Toronto Area on these forums. Would be great to get to know the local 501st over coffee/drinks.
  6. I'd like to know too what the best adhesive is for resin as well. For wargames I use superglue but for something this big and weighty that's obviously not going to cut it.
  7. Thanks guys, it seems that a good solution for the helmet is key. I think I'll go with the UA heat wear as well. I'm always getting queasy in heat (various medical issues) so I was concerned about this. Besides I plan to do some poppin' and lockin' in my armour that's going to build up a sweat. Haha.
  8. It's a challenge for Canadians as well. We're pretty much stuck with doopydoo's resin replica (in parts only). Nothing else seems to be able to make it cross the border. (When it's assembled and I bring it to the US, it will likely be confiscated when I return home. *bleh*)
  9. Hi all, I’ve seen a few threads on what the under-suit could be or should be. But I was wondering what would be best for trooping around at a convention for say 6 hours stretch at a time (going to GenCon 2012 this year)? I’ve been looking at UnderArmour’s Heat products that apparently keep you cool and dry. I haven’t yet found anything else. Can anyone that has done the convention circuit or trooped in hot places let me know what the most impactful item is not just for the under-suit, and fans in helmet but other stuff that can help? Thanks!
  10. Oh God! Shuts eyes. I just started buying for my build! This is scary!
  11. Yup I'm trying to convince the wife that I absolutely need a pair of white "disco boots" as she calls them. I've seen a few peeps selling neck seals going anywhere from $40-$65. Is there really a $25 difference in the quality of neck seals? Strangely the whole black unitard thing got her excited not sure why ...
  12. My goal once I get my AP armour from Mark, and TK is to get EIB definitely as a minimum. Just waiting ....
  13. There's always the odd jobs here and there you could do for folks over the summer. That adds up real quick?
  14. I just order an Aker + iComm combo too. Damn you Cardiac you're a bad influence! Just kidding man - your help has been invaluable. I hope my kit looks as good as yours someday!
  15. My profile picture is me asking Darth Vader if he wants me to show him my Imperial Black Unitard Dance. He force choked me.
  16. ps. Of course now I have a compression black unitard ... Maybe I can use that to make some money at the erm .. "clubs" ... HOLLA!.
  17. Is it just me or does this hobby seem like a black hole for money and makes every other hobby that one may have seem rather ... irrelevant?
  18. I'm trying to figure out how I can start to afford all the gadgets now (ie. Aker amp + iComm) ... guess I need to sell some of my boardgame collection or someting.
  19. Thanks all! I was pondering if I should share this silly news or not. But the experience so far on FISD has been great and really happy with the inclusive feel of this place. I was a little scared to start this hobby but everyone's been so nice and helpful. It's great!
  20. Hi all just wanted to share that I ordered my first kit ever from Mark @ AP. Put in my deposit - waiting for Mark to confirm that he got it. I'm pretty excited. But now I know what everyone's talking about regarding "the wait". It's only been 2 hours and I'm already losing my mind. I guess I can start shopping for Comm systems, gloves and all the other gear. Can't wait to join the Legion! :ninja:
  21. Just emailed Rob! Hoping he'll get back to me soon.
