Honestly I think the only long term fix would be to paint the armor. I've done the whitening job about 4 times on my backup ESB helmet and it comes back every time. It's okay because I don't really use it. But my armor is the same plastic as that helmet and I've done the whole suit twice now. So I'm almost to the point that I will just be upgrading my armor this fall. My armor is already 5 years old. I will also say it certainly comes down the type of plastic that was used. I got my first helmet from troopermaster which is over 5 years old and it has not yellowed at all. My ESB helmet and my everyday armor is MTK. If I stand next to a newer set of armor you can really tell how yellow I am.

I can confirm it does not remove these stains. I’ve used it to whiten my armor in which it does a good quick fix. It’s not long lasting and the armor will yellow again within a month or so. But if you do pull your armor out for a troop and it’s yellow you atleast can try and whiten it the day before and have it white again.

Cricket nailed it. This has happened to me before after just throwing everything in a bin. Exactly what she said. Wet sand with 400 grit, then move up to 600, etc I did all the way to 1600. Then once it was gone I used novus to polish it back up. I spent probably 2 hours total on it one night while watching TV. I had two spots to do.

I don’t know if anyone has tried doing that. But to answer your question, yes ROTJ would be the only option.

Unless there is a new seller calling themselves NE Props, NE used to be a side name for AM who was producing recast RS Props armor. AM allegedly stopped producing it a few years ago and the armor really didn’t pop up anymore. Can you fill us in a little more? Anyway, the armor was good quality but just a recast of RS.

I’m not entirely sure. It appears there is some label on the inside of the helmet though. It doesn’t look too bad based on those photo angles. It looks like it would need some more frown paint.

You can’t go wrong with MTK. Mike is an awesome seller and will never steer you wrong.

None of the CRL changes will affect your chance for approval with a FX kit. It may just affect the way you are building it but it is even a very small chance for basic approval. Most of the proposed changes that will be shown to the membership in the future will be for the higher levels of approval. Of course we cant speak for your garrison and GMLs regarding basic approval and what they accept.

So how old is your son? Are we talking a 7 year old? 10 year old? A grown teenager? If we’re talking a smaller child then Yeah I would say Walt would be your only and best bet. If we are talking a grown son then Walt or Radu Plucinski makes nice looking armor. TBH you might as well not even go to the JRS forum. It’s pretty much a ghost town. They do most of their business on Facebook.
