  1. Hi Markus. Could you please request 501st access on the forums using this thread: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/16-501st-trooper-status-requests-include-link-to-your-501st-profile-in-your-request/ We have received your report and this is the reason why you could not start a topic. Your application will be on hold until 501st status has been obtained. Thank you.
  2. Congrats Preston! An amazing journey for sure.
  3. Ok so at this point I'm going to lock the thread. Everyone at this point will be able to believe what they want. The back and forth shall not continue.
  4. Hi Chris and welcome to the FISD! You have been given some great advice so far. This is a great hobby and an expensive one. Also a hobby with a TON of information to get through. Please don't be overwhelmed. Please also check out the link for the Florida garrison here: https://fl501st.com/ First things first is you will want to choose which set of armor you want to build. Do you want a trooper from ANH, ESB or ROTJ? They are all different. If you choose ANH then there are two options within that movie as well. You will want to refer to our Costume Reference Library (CRL) to get a better look at all of the options. http://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:FISD_CRL When it comes down purchasing armor you can buy it assembled by a couple of armor vendors who assemble it to your body size or you a really rewarding way to do it is to build it yourself. There are a lot of talented members here who can help you along the way. If you have any questions do not hesitate to ask.
  5. I can't wait to see all of the entries! Good luck troopers!
  6. Hi Jonathan. You have done a very nice job on your armor. I will echo the shoulder bridge recommendation. It would certainly look better if you cut that back a little bit. But you are certainly well on your way to having a fine set of armor that you should be proud of. Great job!
  7. Ok so I’m going to focus on the ROTJ trooper. On the posterior plate it states that snaps and rivets are not allowed on the crotch tab. I think there is clear evidence at this point that a snap is present there. I recommend that for level 3 that this is now a requirement. Second it states that for level 3 overlap construction is not allowed. Like above, I think there is clear evidence that ROTJ armor was constructed using the overlap construction method. Again I recommend this should be a requirement for level 3. So that’s all for me right now.
  8. There ya go. Either of those two kits are fine choices.
  9. Hi Carter. So you have a very interesting idea. However, do you have access to vacuum forming setups? If you don’t, unfortunately you will find that trying to tackle a project like this will be too cost prohibitive. It will cost much less to just buy a shadow trooper kit from a vetted source then to spend the thousands of dollars to make a vacuum forming machine.
  10. Yeah Jeff you are looking pretty good. The fixes that Randy mentioned are pretty minor and more or less fitment issues. So once you get those straightened out, you will be good to go. Nice job!
  11. Looking very nice Zac. You built that MTK very well. Good luck on your approval!
  12. I booked at the Hyatt Regency as well! Chicago will be interesting.
  13. Congrats Zac and welcome! Now you get to head out there and start trooping. Now the fun begins!
  14. Hi Jenny! Nice job on your build. I don’t see anything that would hold up your approval. @ABS80 Mark are the holes in the thermal detonator part of your mold? I haven’t seen those before. Now moving on from the approval process to practicality, I’m pretty sure you’re going to want to cut out the back side of your thighs and shins so you can walk better. I could see you having a tough time walking because you don’t have much gap between the two. Again nice job on your build.
  15. Yeah this really is unfortunate. FOTK vendors are very limited as it is. To lose another one would be very sad.
  16. Thanks for posting Joe! I can’t believe I decided to go as a Tie and didn’t get to be on the mound. I guess I learned my lesson!
  17. Wyatt you may draw attention to this if you wish. However, please edit posts 1 and 2 to remove the vulgarity. Please refrain from using vulgarity in the future. Thanks
  18. Hey D. RS is one of the best sets of armors out there. Many people have gone with them. Just contact all of the sellers. I'm almost positive that they all provide the parts to go either TK or TD. For my MTK for example, Mike provides parts for both builds and then you make the decision on which you would like to build. You are on the higher side for height but it shouldn't be too much of a problem. RT-Mod is a set of armor that is geared toward the taller trooper or you could contact troopermaster and get a set of his XL shins.
  19. I wanna play. I'm Steve and I am from the Empire City Garrison. I've been a member of the 501st since 2014. I have always wanted to be a stormtrooper since I was a kid. Finally I started to get serious around 2011 and found the FISD. I did some research and realized how expensive this hobby was so I decided to step away after a few months. I finally made my way back in 2013 and decided it was time. Like many of you it was a very exciting time but also very stressful. I was always wondering if I had what it takes to build a set of armor. I powered through it and haven't looked back. I now have 5 costumes built and am currently working on an ESB vader. Here are a few of my favorite pictures from my time as a member: 1ST TROOP: CELEBRATION ORLAND ECG: CELEBRATION FISD STAFF PHOTO: I'll also leave this link here. This is a little "about me" story that is posted on the ECG blog: https://501ecg.wordpress.com/2017/06/14/why-we-troop-tk-10466/ Steve Sheades TK-10466
  20. Thank you Chris. When it is time to make new purchases of existing merch, the staff will let everyone know. So for the time being please follow Chris' instructions.
  21. Ok everyone. I am going to reopen this thread. I expect you all to keep in on target. Please lets work together to get through these merch runs and get them up to date and delivered. If anyone has any issues and feel the need to express them, please contact me via PM. Thank you for your cooperation.
